Okay, this is a question that has been itiching the Megaman portion of my brain since I played the games.
They say Megaman and Roll are both Brother/sister in the game.
BUT in both games when Megaman sees Roll taking a bath he pumps his fist.So theres one theory that means that the light hearted Megaman Trigger JUST MIGHT not consider Roll his sister.
But Ive seen some fanfictions that put Megaman and Roll as boyfriend and Girlfriend.
I personally portray them as BF/GF for some reason.
How do you consider them?
PS:SORRY!!!!If this has been posted before.

There has been discussion of this before, but I'm not sure if there was actually a topic for it. I personally think they consider each other siblings, and that thing with the bath was a sick japanese leftover, because they are crazy. what people think their relationship just matters how you interpret the situation, not just this situation but the whole game.

I think it's brother and sister. Just seems logical.

I think it's more of a BF/GF kinda thing...The game seems to hint at it quite a bit. For one, I've never seen them referred to as brother and sister. I've seen companion used (megaman legends instruction manual), Girlfriend (girl on Nino island), and uh...Pretty sure that's it.
The only thing I can see that supports them seeing each other as brother and sister is that they were both raised by Gramps in a family sense, and that Gramps "Adopted" Megaman. Although this is true, Megaman's last name is still Volnutt, not Caskett, and if he WERE legally adopted by Gramps, he'd be her uncle, not her brother (yeah...that doesn't really help the BF/GF argument, but bear with me here).
As for support for the BF/GF argument...I see the above that they are never actually referred to as brother and sister, the fist pump after Megaman walks in on Roll in the bathroom, and the "SECRET!" Diary entry.
SECRET!: I realize now that everything I've done up until now is because I had MegaMan by my side...I've only realized now how much I love him. I'm so happy I have him in my life!
Right there Roll says she loves him. Yes, it's arguable that she could just be saying she loves him in a family sense...but then why would she mark the entry "SECRET!" in a diary thats already meant to be secret? Looks like a crush to me.
There's also Joe's little quote later in the game...
Joe: ...... 10 years ago, we tried to land on Forbidden Island...And now...You're trying to succeed where we failed...He can do it...You can trust him...He's the one, Roll...
Which can also be interpreted differently, but I see it as another hint at them meant to be BF/GF. But hey, see it as ya want...I'm only defending it so much cause they have to be BF/GF for a fan-fic I'm writing **twittles thumbs** lol

Yeah, I'm backing up the BF/GF deal.
After you beat Geetz, when MegaMan wakes up, Roll says "You're the most important thing in my life."

Everyone has there own views, and I think its the sibling deal. Everyone had different views, and there is not enough information in the game to know for sure. I just say that barrel may of adopted him as a grandson, you never know, because him being her uncle legally is as bad as brother and being boyfriend and girlfriend.

**hits self...hard** Can't believe I forgot about that ENTIRE speech after Rock wakes up...Yeah, that also supports the whole BF/GF dealie to me.

That speech... well I have a save state on my emulator at every important part of the game so I'll check it out, I don't remember anything supporting the BF GF thing, but I haven't seen it in over a month, and its a part when I didn't pay attention. I wouldn't change my mind unless overwhelming evidence is presented, mainly because even if Megaman wasn't her brother, he'd be her uncle, which is wronger, right?

I just remembered about in Megaman Legends one when you have a bunch of people on the second floor of the museum theres a lady in orange and a apron there.
She asks you if you have ever given a ring to the woman you love. I know it doesn't say it directly but still it supports the BF/GF thing.

This is supporting the BF GF idea, but in legends 1 you can give Roll a old ring you find in a ruin. I just think that roll having no parents for ten years, she bonded with Megaman very closely, rather than a normal brother sister relationship.

Yeah, I'm backing up the BF/GF deal. After you beat Geetz, when MegaMan wakes up, Roll says "You're the most important thing in my life." My family members are the most important thing in my life... so I guess I think it's brother and sister because of my experience. I guess the interpretation depends on the person. Hey Woodlediaper, you're writing a fanfic? Tell me when you finish 'cause I'll read it and tell you what I think.

Personally, I lean towards the brother and sister idea. Since they were raised together from a very early stage of childhood, they’d be bonded together as a kind of brother and sister even if Barrel hadn’t adopted MM. Also, in the classic MM series, ‘Rock’ and Roll were brother and sister. This isn’t directly relevant to the MML series, but still.
This is the one thing (that I can remember) that really alludes to a BF/GF relationship, but I have a little bit of a theory on this. It sounds weird that he says that you’re trying to succeed at what he and Matilda failed to do 10 years ago when you’ve already done it. Joe(Banner) and Matilda failed to go to Forbidden Island and both get back alive. My guess is that this was originally supposed to be placed in before you went to Forbidden Island when he was first put into the hotel room. This makes more sense, but since it basically told you that he was Roll’s father they might have felt that it would spoil the story. They also might have done this because it would seem odd not to build on such a major character as the long lost father of Roll, so they moved that part of the scene near the end as an excuse not to do much with him, but still let you know that he was Roll’s father. This theory could aslo be supported by the fact that after the fight, Joe just left for another island which would prevent them from having to do much with his character. Still, that’s just a theory.
As for the "He can do it...You can trust him...He's the one, Roll...", if this is placed before Forbidden Island it would simply be talking about getting to Forbidden Island. Still, my explanation can't fully explain the context of what Joe was saying. Only the guy who came up with the script truly knows... and maybe the others who worked on the game.
All in all I think it is just a brother/sister relationship. Besides, how many of you would go out with your brother/sister. Even if you weren’t actually part of the family and were adopted at a young age into the family, it would still be rather awkward to do such a thing. Still, we’re all allowed to our own opinion on the matter until Capcom makes MML3 which will (hopefully) answer all of our questions for us, like it or not (the answers, not the game).
As for the MM celebration after the Roll scenes, I think that its just some perverted joke put in there by the creators. It doesn't really allude to a relationship, just that MM has a perverted side to him.
Another thing that I just thought of that alludes to a BF/GF relationship is that Tron looks at Roll as the only thing standing between her and MM. In other words, Tron thinks that Roll is MM's GF. The thing is, she only thinks this. She probably thinks that this is the case because MM and Roll are often together, and since Tron doesn't know that they are brother and sister, she immediatly thinks that they must be in a relationship. Besides, what other reason would keep MM from Miss Tron except for a chivalrous loyalty to another woman (that just a guess at what Tron thinks, not what I think). Get rid of Roll and MM is all hers. So, the rivalry between Roll and Tron is just a big misunderstanding. Roll doesn't even seem to know who Tron is until much later in the game.
As for the Geetz battle quote, I'd have to agree with Blue Robot Girl. Just because it says that doesn't mean that she loves him like a BF, just that she loves him as a brother. Thats one thing about the word love, it can mean almost a hundred things, and sometimes it can be hard to know which one it really is, whether it be between brother and sister, Parents and children, friends, lovers, and so on. Still, I'd better stop because this is getting way to long.

Perverted game creators, causing confusion. I think that you should of kept going with your post, the more input the more proof. I already agree with everything you said, especially the part about the celebration. Joe may be thinking something completely different. I think Joe may be thinking Megaman is the one who can finish the mission against the system, knowing about the women on the forbidden island, since Yuna saved him. Megaman and Roll, Rock and Roll having a relationship, I think before something like that would happen, Tron would kill Roll. The only reason I think the only possible reason that someone could think that They would be BF GF, is that perverted scene, and Joe, plus if you interpret some of the cinamatics differently the first time.

Lol, it's weird how one can put so much thought into something like this eh?
I actually just thought of something...If I remember correctly, once you do the Roll bathroom scene in Legends 2, the next time you talk to her you get the cheaper prices...so the fist pump may just be indicating that, they just put it in a very strange place =P
And yeah, I'm writin a fic...judging by my speed so far it'll probably be a long while until I finish writing and editing though. But yeah, I'll let you see when i'm done =)
