Hey everyone! I am unsure if this is in the right thread, but it seems right. Below is a Youtube video of a couple of months progress of my Mega Man Legends remake project. My goal is to remake the MML 1 engine within Unity so that I can have a base where I can make and add my own ruins, story, reaverbots, and overall mechanics. I really loved the game as a kid and always wished there was more in this style, and since the modding support is extremely lacking in terms of whole new levels, I decided to start this. I will updating my progress every once and a while. My current goal is to completely remake the ocean tower ruin. I want it to be a 1 to 1 remake as the tutorial does a great job covering almost all core mechanics in the game. After that, I got some rough ideas of some new mechanics I would like to add and a loose story line. There are plenty of bugs within this demo here that you will notice but feel free to share any feedback or comments! Mega Man Legends Unity Project

Hey everyone! It has been awhile. I have uploaded a new video describing the additions to the game since my last update. I like to keep the update videos few so they have more goodies for you all to see. I am pretty proud on how it is coming so far. I had to commentate it so that I could explain what I was showing and whatnot, so please excuse my pauses as I don't normally live record videos. Also, I realized after uploading the whole thing that my voice is really quiet in some spots, so hopefully you got good ears! There also many little bugs here in there (some I ran into while making this video ) so please excuse those as well. Anyway, please give it a watch and let me know what you think! I think the jumping after pause could be due to the landing animation, maybe it's redetecting the floor after you leave the inventory.

Yeah, the jumping is due to the character not being "grounded" right after the pause and the "check if falling" comes before the reinitialization of gravity. I am going to have to redo the movement code due to this one issue it appears as it keeps coming up and I keep putting in "bandaids" just to get it working how I want.

...Now why would you leave the Forbidden Zone empty? Like...I'd honestly stick the guy there. That's lore in the making! I think I am possibly the polar opposite of the apocryphal "They Changed It, Now It Sucks" guy from TV Tropes.

I just need you on my shoulder giving me easter egg ideas Its gonna be a breath of fresh air once I get the rest of the ruin recreated, then I can branch out and start putting in my own ideas and release the demo. Here's one, but it's probably a pain...what if you could shoot the guy and make him mad and toss in the morality stuff early, and then find some bag of energy cubes by shooting the cube in the room with the forbidden ledge and heal him? What if the Reaverbots could damage him? That could fundamentally change ruins, friendly fire. And maybe get a rough morality system working. Dunno, ideas are ideas. I'm always down to brainstorm!

The idea of having NPCs within ruins that would come with "mini quests" is definitely something that has been bouncing around in my head. Reaverbots able to interact with them is something that hasn't though! That could open a huge can of possible encounters. Say, you run across another digger and they are hurt. You can decide to heal them using your canteen or something, and you get something later, but you can also decide to leave them and later on you find their body and can loot it for the stuff that he has found on the dig. (Say a "normal item" for special weapon making). This would present two morality routes to get the same item, just the bad route could have you get his zenny as well (but could possible shut out a potential quest with them later?). I absolutely LOVE games that have what you choose in the game actually affect the world around you (or what ending you get). The little side missions you can do in MML are fantastic as it gets you more engrossed in the town/area. I remember as a kid specifically going straight to the ruins to grind some zenny after I found that I could supply the money needed to get poor Ira the machine to fix her legs Please feel free to hit me up with anything that you can think of as I am open to ideas! I may not implement them directly, but will definitely base some things off them so you can still have something unknown to play through!

I was like, okay, yes, the movement animation looks more fluid, and then you got to the boss room and that was just easily the best part. Pepperoni pizza is also the best Lunchable.
