Glyde, huh? : o I can't really see too much resemblance, really. :17: Although the Glyde connection has been brought up in the Devroom as well. It's the hair, I'd bet; that and the fact that this is such a shadowy picture- quite easy to see why people would draw such a conclusion. @dr. Jerk: Come now, Doctor K, this is the Mega Man series. Do you really expect a 'supposedly dead' character to actually stay dead? Especially considering what character you've said you're a fan of? As for your most recent post, I get the same vibe too for some reason. : o S'pose we'll just have to see, eh?

Dr. Wily and Dr. Light were confirmed dead. So have many other characters before. Honestly, Classic series was the only light-hearted series, all the others had more serious tones, especially the X and Zero series.
In less-seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if Glyde does reappear...

I meant more like in the game series themselves. During the course of the Classic series of Mega Man games, Wily is said to have died at least twice, each time coming back by the next game of course. Not to mention his influence over the events of the X series, in which he's (somewhat?) responsible for what becomes the Maverick virus and is said to have used the bodies of several major characters from the series to more directly influence events surrounding Zero. I'm not saying that's he's literally alive after those incidents (the canon goes silent on his fate after X6), but his penchant for 'cheating death' is well-known in the fandom, right?

Twice? I only remember the ending to MM3.

Consider the ending of MMIIGB. Dude gets missiled in a space pod, while in space. The flaming wreckage then streaks down to earth and lands with a mushroom cloud you can see from space. If that's not "presumed dead" I don't know what is.

Well it's obvious that he survived that, and before anyone asks, yes the GB games are considered canon. Anyway, I thought of that ending too once, how odd it seemed, but just didn't remember it until now. For all we know, Wily might have done something crafty before it crashed. Much like he did with the ending of MM3, because those rocks would have otherwise killed an old man such as he.
He's like, Team Rocket or the Doronbo Gang, except there's only one of him. Point is, he died before the events of the X series. Presumably by old age.
Back on topic?

He hated X and for whatever reason knows Zero inside out...Anyways, we should have news of the new character by tomorrow, right? I'm guessing he's a digger but I don't think it's the digger Aero spots for.

You can see that he was thrilled that his long-term project was all that he thought it would be... but I think Zero went on a small rampage, mowing Wily and several robots down (you see blood on Zero's hands in the flashback in X4). If that was so, I don't think Wily would hold that against Zero, he just comes back(ghost or vision) once in a bit to remind him of his original mission- to destroy Dr. Light's last creation(X).. Odd as to how that worked out... Getting back on topic, I'm beginning to think that if this character ends up as Aero's partner, I'm thinking they might be alittle different from Trigger and Roll. This guy might try to be a little over-protective of Aero, but she can take care of herself... Speculation aside, I hope the news comes on time- I don't have work tomorrow, so I can find the news straight from the horse's mouth.

There's a chance it could go down late tonight the way the Legends 3 announcement did. IIRC, it's going to happen over a live stream in Japan, so it'll be more convenient for them than it will be for us either way, assuming a non-Japanese person could even watch it in the first place.

You might want to keep your eyes open today, because it's always possible that the translators (once again) forgot to take into account the fact that Japanese news posts have Japanese timestamps from Japanese timezones which need to be translated like anything else. It's already 2:4X AM on Thursday, April 21st in Japan as of this post. In about eight or nine hours it'll be 10-11AM there, which is about the time these stories have surfaced in the past. I'd put a lot of Zenny on this silhouette being another member of Aero's team, whether he/she/it be the Digger or someone else all together. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Odd as to how that worked out... Keiji Inafune confirmed that Zero was never activated in the Classic series' era, never went on a rampage, and never killed anyone in the Classic series. It's been confirmed awhile ago, and yet I still commonly see this theory...

Man, I wish we'd had more time to speculate about the silhouette. That'd have been a fun contest--try and fill it in yourself and then see who can get the closest to what they really made! ...Of course, if anybody wanted to draw out a guess, they're more than welcome to go for it.

If it does turn out to be Gylde, with new a slightly new hair style and new clothing, I'll probably be crapping out bricks.

Okay, here we go. According to Google Translate and the Dev Blog it's gonna go down at 9PM Japan time, which means we'll hear about it at 11AM (central) tomorrow at the earliest.

I'm pretty sure your math is off. I live in Central time (CDT "-5"), and I'm 14 hours behind Japan (JST "+9"), so for 9PM I have it at 7AM. That's 8AM for most of you. (EDT "-4") I guess 11AM CDT might be more likely for the Unity Devroom to be posted, though, but even that's a little early for them. I'm pretty sure that would be 9AM in their time (PDT "-7"), so they'd probably just be getting started for the day.
