I really don't think they were in the same accident, but the possibility that he may have met Barrel in Teomo when he was younger is plausible with more evidence in-game.

I still think it's a standard form of cybernetic implant for diggers. After all, Digg has a cybereye, Teisel has two of them... sounds reasonable. Then again I like to stick with Occam's Razor when it comes to this.
Barrett is mentioned to have some past with digging, so hey.

I think Tiesel's was by choice- he doesn't exactly look fearsome with normal eyes (not that he does, anyway- his goofball behavior negates that idea). Barrett's and Barrel's might be occupational hazards, I'm thinking..
One of the easter egg suggestions was the idea of of having a library that documented a bit of the series' past history. Sadly, that one may not be used. Pity, that would have been good for folks new to Legends...

It's what they did with the new installment of Golden Sun; there was a glossary of terms for new players that could be accessed at any time in conversations.
I didn't use it much, but it wasn't invasive... and I assume it was incredibly useful.
It would be a shame if they cut out such a library from the game!

Maan did I have a lot of catching up to do since leaving for work Thursday morning. Pretty much 15 minutes before the DASH part of the broadcast and nothing's happening, then all of a sudden BOOOM, there goes the community activity. Anyway, a few random things I wanted to throw out here:
Remember how I said that broadcast mentioned DASH3 at the beginning and then the live comments filled up with FF7 character namedrops? I guess now I know why that was. Either the anchors spoiled Barret's name early, or maybe they just teased that the new character would be a recognizable name from FF7, which got the viewers guessing Tifa, Aeris, Vincent, etc.
Incidentally, I believe "Bullet" is a valid romanization of the name. It's pretty well known that L and R are interchangeable sounds in Japanese, but A can stand in for a short U as well. That's why sometimes Crashman gets romanized as Crushman when he's not being romanized as Clashman.
"Bullet" does sound like it would make a clever counter to "Trigger", but it looks like Barret is the official English spelling we're getting.
On the fandom outrage over the changes inherent in this move: Remember back when MML was first coming out and some Megaman fans wouldn't give it a chance because it wasn't the Megaman they were used to? Yeah, this is pretty much that. I find it depressingly ironic that Legends fans can be so reactionary against a shocking upheaval. This is why we can't have nice things.
This is actually looking closer to how I imagined the road to MML3 would be presented. I was never one of the fans that believed the Elysium cliffhanger should be glossed over to drop you in control of Rock back on Terra right at the start of the next installment after 2. I also never thought it would be a good move to drop you in control of Rock on Elysium making his own way back to Terra at the start of the game. That would really mess with feeling of the series. My vision things involved a prologue game much like what we're getting now, in which Rock was still up on Elysium out of the player's focus, and the objective of the game was to complete the rocket, rescuing him in the end, setting up the opening for MML3 proper which gets to start with Rock in the halcyon environment of Terra as God intended.
The difference is that the prologue game I had in mind would be like a successor to MoTB, you'd play as Tron and Roll, since they're the ones actually trying to build the rocket anyway. I knew a game like that was even less likely to happen than MML3 though. If only MoTB sold better the first time around. At least MML3PV is looking like it will match my vision in terms of the story approach and the innovative new gameplay mechanics to go along with it, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I think Tiesel's was by choice- he doesn't exactly look fearsome with normal eyes (not that he does, anyway- his goofball behavior negates that idea). Barrett's and Barrel's might be occupational hazards, I'm thinking.. I actually think the exact opposite happened. Barrell and Barrett's mods were intentional, since they're almost identical, but Teisel's were possibly souvenirs from whatever incident killed his parents (same deal with Bon's armor, as the notion of them being together at the time is likely).

Raijin: I had a similar idea too actually, about how the game'd start with Tron looking for parts for the rocket in a ruins...and the funny thing'd be that Roll was her spotter. The dialogue for that would be straight-up hilarious. Still, the MML3PV looks awesome for what it has (Eden attack? Bonne battle? : D ), so it's wonderful that we have it.

Blues: Oh dear lord, Tron having Roll for a Spotter, while I would think she'd sooner eat hog's vomit flavored with MSG before that happens, she'd be willing to swallow her pride to get the rocket built. I can't even imagine what kind of comedy gold that could yield- and I was not expecting much comedy when I first checked out Legends 1...

The background info on Barrett was a good read, but I hope his character is more than the "cool" type and brings some more humor to the game. After viewing his 3D model, for some reason I really want to see what he looks like without those goggles….but from reading this topic, I’m now curious to see if there’s any significance to his faceplate, or if it’s a common thing to do since Gramps has it in the same place. I really want more information on the whole exchanging-body-parts thing in general. :07:

Hmm Barret <--> Barrel Bullet <--> Trigger
I know! He's MegaMan's long lost son!

Hmm. You have to pull a trigger to make the bullet come out of the barrel. So I guess that makes gramps the mom.

Hmm, I'm getting this whole Jet Set Radio from Barret, and I like. Well, hopefully this means that Megaman will be getting a few upgrades in the melee department. No doubt, knocking bosses down is going to be a big part of combat.

I must admit that I was a bit wary at first, but I warmed up to Barrett after I read about his profile; especially about the fact that he's trying to help the Bright Bats become a stronger team. I also liked his character sheet as well; which showed that he does have a goofy side too.
I'm pretty sure that he's mainly there to help Roll build the rocket; and maybe even rescue MegaMan. After that, he'll be a comrade for MegaMan or an optional player character.
