Group 1 is probably going to underrepresented for the simple fact that most people haven't said with the series as long as we have. Most of them decided since we are not getting a sequel, lets move on already. Along with the age difference between now and ten years ago. Peoples opinions and beliefs change over time. Wait, what? Let's recap what these two groups are: 1) Longtime Legends fans 2) Visitors that are brand new to Legends Right now it's group 2 that's higly unrepresented. A couple days ago I looked through the comments of Eguchi's blog post on the Japanese site, and almost every single poster identified themselves as (1), the rest didn't identify themselves at all. I didn't see a single (2). I'm hearing a lot of fear from the fans that worry the developers are giving up control to people that aren't even fans, people that don't deserve to have a say in how our game comes out. I don't think that's going to be a problem though, because how many people do you really think are going to stumble onto the Devroom completely ignorant of what it's about and just start throwing around suggestions like they own the place? Even if some people do that, the developers are smart enough to apply a filter and not just approve any random idea thrown at them. I think a more realistic fear is that nothing but group 1 people are attracted to this project. Remember, it was insufficient sales that killed Legends ten yars ago. If all Capcom can glean from this poll is that they'll only be able to sell to the same people they sold to last time, then we could be in trouble. I already suspect Inafune would be fine with getting the game out there even if the sales are going to be lousy again, but the rest of the Capcom people who actually LIKE their jobs would have an issue with that strategy. So it may be a bitter pill, but it's in everyone's best interest that those group 2 people exist and speak up. We want Capcom to think they have a breakaway hit on their hands. Incidentally, what if a few diehard fans were to...go undercover as newbies? Register a new identity for the Devroom, post self-identifying as group 2, and say something like "Well I's a-just passin' by an' wanted t'see what all the hub-bub was about. Mega Man Legends the Third, eh? Heavens, that indeed does sound like something I might intend to purchase on the morrow, governor. If ye were to ask my opinion, I be sayin' this be a game that would do well t'have some pirates in it, matey!" Like that, only, y'know, try to stick with one accent to seem less suspicious...It probably shouldn't be me that tries this.

My main concern about outside input is mostly to do with the fans from other MegaMan series. These are slow days if you're a MegaMan fan. And this is the biggest new MegaMan game there's been in ages; I think it's bound to attract a bunch of non-Legends fans from the overall MegaMan fanbase. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it could be. They just have to ask the wrong questions.. ∗shudder∗ :21: (I have concerns the fan input in general. Input from people who aren't even fans is just an additional concern. >__<) [#]

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it could be. After dealing extensively with the bad part of the X fanbase and lots of elitists from the other MM fanbases, heck, even a Legends fan that contemptuously dissed the Battle Network series and some graphics-obsessed dolts, I'm thinking that we're bound to run into several rotten apples in the DevRoom if this really gets the attention of other MM fans, because, sadly, those rotten apples are the ones that love being the most vocal. :24:

Hmm, so, now it seems like the 'dev room' wasn't the real 'legends dev room'.

What worries me about thes kinds of discussions is that it attracts so many people that it seems impossible to form coherent ideas that are going to make everybody happy. I suppose it's reassuring that Eguchi tells us that he's going to be "looking closely" at our comments, but after 31 pages of discussion (and there are still the Japanese fans, who seem to be almost four times our number), it seems a little unrealistic that he's going to consider every single fan's opinion (though, they do seem to be saying more or less the same thing). I guess every aspect of the game will be decided by a majority? That doesn't seem so bad, but, as others have said, it just seems that Capcom is trying too hard to get ALL of the fan input and should just get to work, already.
Also, has anyone noticed the background pattern in the dev room? Cute.

Hmm, opinions from fans 'cross the web huh? Well, guess I'll try to give 'im a few thoughts. Right now we just gotta keep our eyes open and stay alert, right? :E1:

Yes. Keep our eyes open, stay alert, and play some serious Wac-A-Mole with those pesky Zero/Proto/Bass cameo requests. We may be sufficiently bashing them down them now, but the tide could always take a turn for the worse later on. :01: Especially if more non-Legends fans decide to get vocal.

∗sigh∗ You Capcom Unity kids are so cute, the way you think you'll be able to keep Zero out of the game if Capcom actually asks for fan input on that one... xD Cross your fingers and hope there isn't an official Zero poll, because if there is he's going to be in the game, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. =) (EDIT: I'm just teasing, guys. Don't take me so seriously — I know I don't.)

After a wait of a decade, I'd have no guilt killing somebody just to prevent Zero from setting foot in the Legends realm.

If it's really as futile as you say it is, Pitch, I'd still look and feel much better about going down after putting up a good fight than I would if I'd just declared it a hopeless cause from the start and spent the whole development process worrying and complaining about how the fans are all going to ruin the game. We aren't even out of pre-alpha yet. :17:

Whatever you have to tell yourself, Miss Dashe. =) (EDIT: Man, I sure can be an ass sometimes. :22:) (Sorry again, Miss Dashe. ∗ bows twice/etc. ∗)

Oh, the poster is fiiiiiine. After all, we've had more Legends cameos than we can count on our fingers. But they were never character cameos, just props and nods and references. It's the thought of a dark, brooding guy weaving himself into the plot and stealing Mega Man's thunder that worries most of us.

It's the thought of a dark, brooding guy weaving himself into the plot and stealing Mega Man's thunder Don't the Legends games take place at least 6000 years after the main series or something? Yeah, no, even if the fanboys get a vote in, I really don't see anything like what you're describing happening.
