It's my counter to anyone over here with a showtune/opera allergy. ∗ raises hand ∗ :22: (please don't ban me x.x) Well at least you've got the spirit of it. It's pretty fun, but it became exhausting after a while for me. Too much new music, and not enough time to really process it or even enjoy it. I had to kind of just sit back and listen to all the tunes I'd accumulated for a while. I'm trying to get started again now, though. Some of my current obsessions, I guess I should mention. Let's see... Broken Bells’ eponymous debut album is one I really like. And it's mercifully short, so I can listen to it just about any time. The Raconteurs’ album “Consolers of the Lonely” is also spectacular I think. In fact, for a sudden music obsession you can just put me down for anything by Jack White — that kid is amazing. (honorable mentions to the White Stripes’ albums “Icky Thump” and “Get Behind Me, Satan”) EDIT: Also gotta mention the Black Keys’ album “Brothers” because there's just not enough good blues-rock these days. For some older stuff, right now I'm really digging Electric Light Orchestra — between A New World Record and Out of the Blue, I can't really decide which I like better. And a bit of David Bowie. And Van Morrison's album “Moondance.” (I can't even tell you how much I love this album <3) And somewhere in there toss in King Crimson's “In the Court of the Crimson King.” (mm... prog rock) And yeah.. I think those are my favorites right now, but I could probably fill all 60000 characters in this post, getting into all the albums I've listened to this past year. (I don't want to write it any more than you want to read it, I'm sure. )

Oh man, I have so many albums to listen to. Over a 1000. ... Yeah. I've been listening to...a lot. Faith No More, Baths, Amon Tobin, Frank Zappa, The Pixies, Jaco Pastorius, T-Square, Buckethead, Philip Glass, Erik Satie, Igor Stravinsky, Prof. Wolfff, The Bambi Molesters, Morphine, Secret Chiefs 3, Nujabes, and uh... even more than that. Yeah. I have music playing 24/7. Oh and Pitch? David Bowie, King Crimson and ELO? Hell yes.

I am one of the (statistically) 200 people who really, really like the scientifically Most Unwanted Song. It's a 25-minute piece based off of the results of a poll to find out people's least favorite aspects in music, combined to create the most annoying song ever. The orchestra includes bagpipes, accordions, tubas, harps, church organs, and a synthesizer, among other things. It also involves a rapping operatic soprano and a children's choir, and the subject matter ranges from cowboy culture to political rantings to holidays to advertisement. You will probably never find another song like it. Ever. Most people probably wouldn't be into this, but it's at least better than Rebecca Black.

I've been accumulating lots of Japanese jazz recently: Masato Honda, T-Square, Casiopea, Hideo Shiraki, Solil & PIMP Sessions, Makoto Ozone, Kazumi Watanabe, etc. Aside from that, chiptuners seem to big on me these days—I uploaded a whole new chiptune album to hear on my YT channel, for example. I listen to so many artists daily that I couldn't begin to list all of them in just a quick forum post, lol.

I haven't listened to any new music in a while. It's kind of funny. I was going through so many sudden music obsessions I actually wrote a program to help me keep track of them all. And after I'd written the program, I just stopped completely. Haven't really listened to many new albums in months. I'm weird like that sometimes.

Dashe, I would call it the Theoretically Most Unwanted Song. I like some parts, and others I don't. It's more like multiple songs on one track. I've been listening to Billy Joel and Elton John most recently, but I'm always listening to 70'-90's music. My friends think I just like it because it's old, but I like it for the sound, it's hard to find that sound nowadays.

Dashe, I would call it the Theoretically Most Unwanted Song. I like some parts, and others I don't. It's more like multiple songs on one track. I've been thinking of it like an oratorio instead of a song. My favorite part's gotta be the children's choir's holiday jingles and the operatic soprano western segments. I've been blaming the rise of rap, R&B and auto-tune for that one, but no, you're very much not alone in that sentiment. Things really did sound better back then.

Can't spell crap without rap. But on another note, I've started listening to blues again, anything from Muddy Waters to SRV. Also, I was listening to some Aerosmith the other day, and some kid told me to "turn that crap down" and I looked and saw he was listening to lil wayne. . . What is wrong with the youth today?

I have one of her albums ("Fine") ready to be put into my massive music directory at any moment—on the other hand, I've always been more interested in Masato Honda (former saxophonist for T-Square—possibly the most energetic and bright-sounding saxophonist I've yet heard).

@gs: T-Square and Casiopiea? Awesome tastes, General Specific. You should check out Masahiro Andoh's work on Arc the Lad, lots of great gems in that soundtrack. Dashe: So what, is that implying people don't like bagpipes, accordions, tubas, harps, church organs, and a synthesizer? I love all of those things! Well, maybe not bagpipes, but I certainly don't hate them. Anyway, do all your shopping... At Wallmart! As for me, I've been on a very-hard-to-get-off-of Cardiacs kick. Something about their eccentric, energetic, ethereal, and for a non-e descriptive word, dream-like sound is something you can't find anywhere else. Though, unfortunately, this definitely makes it a ' love it obsessively like nothing else it or completely and utterly, 100% absolutely despise it' kind of band.

Been rocking out to The Fall by Gorillaz recently. That, and Kid A, because I can never get enough Radiohead.
