Okay, I'll probably sound stupid for this but,
What is a Takoyaki/gyros?
It has something to do with MML3's plot right? Is it a reverbot or did I just miss a post on the devroom?

The best way I'd describe a takoyaki is a fried ball of octopus meat, stuck with a toothpick for handling while eating. I hear they're quite delicious. I don't know too much about gyros, but they look pretty good, too. found a wiki bit of info on them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyros

Takoyaki (lit. Octopus Fry) is a ball-shaped snack consisting of octopus in batter, sometimes served with small vegetables and topped with sweet sauce.
It is commonly associated with the Kansai region of Japan.
Also, "Takoyaki" is replaced by "Pizza" in the English releases.

Takoyaki's some kind of Japanese food. The others ninja'd me and described it better. It's octopus, rolled into balls and skewered. Definitely not my cup of tea. See below: Gyros are Greek/middle-eastern in origin and consist of shredded meat (could be lamb, beef, pork, veal, or anything deemed suitable) wrapped in a warmed pita, with lettuce and other sandwich fillings. The place I used to get them from used lamb and stuffed it with lettuce, tomato, onion and cucumber. Usually they come with tzatziki sauce, but I don't like that stuff at all and sub in hummus instead. (Image below) If you take the meat out and replace it with fried chickpea paste, it becomes a felafel, which is BRILLIANT with hummus instead of tzatziki sauce.

What, did Roll forget how to cook? Well Data tried making it, and look what happened in the beginning of the second game.

I'm guessing it's something that's sold at food stands around Klickelan. Like crepes in France. You can barely walk a block in Paris without running into a crepe stand. Heck, if I were localizing this thing for a French audience I'd swap takoyaki for crepes, even though there are gyro places in France too.
I hope if they actually have models of people eating them, they actually modify the model so the people are actually holding gyros. Like you have no idea.

Quickie: Does anyone know why food is assumed to be a major point in MML3? (Side note, that gyro-thingy looks good, I need to try one.)

Quickie: Does anyone know why food is assumed to be a major point in MML3? (Side note, that gyro-thingy looks good, I need to try one.) Everything is food: Sorry, I couldn't resist. Maybe you might end up doing some odd jobs that revolve around certain business and/or people, and one or two or those things might involve a delivery. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't mind doing a few odd jobs between diging in the ruins and and having brush ins with the Bonnes..

You know, with such a huge variety of islands with their own divided cultures, I would have been prety happy with them resembling cultures of different real-life countries as a nod to its persistence; "culture lives on even if mankind has been wiped out five times". The same can go for names given for some characters in different regions. Also doubles as being trivial yet indirectly educational.
What do you guys thing?

That sounds a lot like what they did in Legends 2, actually.

Indeed. Though I do wonder what would have happened if there were some carbon communities that were not re-initialized by the System and allowed to thrive continuously? The idea does have merit and curiosity...
