Indeed. Though I do wonder what would have happened if there were some carbon communities that were not re-initialized by the System and allowed to thrive continuously? The idea does have merit and curiosity... I can imagine what you mean: sub-city dwellers or small colonies who have somehow escaped the System by some kind of technicality.

HF: That, or you have one community developing to the point they are so advanced they try and undergo build something along the lines of the Tower of Babel. Either way, that's something I'd like to see- it would throw everything that's been generally accepted into disorder: Most communities grow, are re-initialized, then start over blissfully unaware of what happened, but with something like the situation as described added, there's bound to be a shake up- one that I might think be a result with the reactivation of the ruins.. but that's just my thoughts on it.

I lol'd when I saw the topic post. It's like when I joke asking "What's a 'Super Bowl'? Is it tasty?" because I have no interest in football. But yes, takoyaki is basically fried batter covered in sauce with octopus in the middle. It's good stuff! Give it a try if you guys get the chance! And if you guys like takoyaki, try okonomiyaki too!

For a second I thought that Capcom was going to localize 'Takoyaki' as 'Corndog'...though 'Gyros' are pretty close. Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see exactly what part tayoyaki/gyros play...maybe you'll be able to buy 'em as healing items?

Corn dogs would probably require less visual alteration should they actually appear onscreen, but how popular are they outside of North America?

I remember one time I was fighting Feldinaught and was near my last legs, I bought a cola from the soda machines and (despite getting shot at) I could almost hear the perverbial "spinach theme" going off somewhere. ;D Then it was "Wham!" to the mechanical otopus. Which gives me an idea, yes.......

So let me get this streight... a major point in the plot is FOOD!? What, did Roll forget how to cook? Judging from the artwork that they've given out so far, as well as some of the voice actress exhibitions they've posted, it looks like Takoyaki might be Aero's favorite type of food. How that plays into the plot is what I'm wondering, maybe it has something to do with a significant part of Aero's past, or something. Anyways, although it isn't too similar except for it being round, covered in "sauce" and on a stick, I was wondering if candy apples would be a better choice for "westernizing" the whole Takoyaki thing. They're more renown than gyros are, last I checked. And IIRC, takoyaki are also known as a Summer Festival type of food in Japan, while Candy apples are also more of a festive sort of treat as well. There's a bit of similarity between the two, or so I think.

Why does Capcom think that they need to change the name of the food for the rest of us to get it? Most of us have Google or Wikipedia, and besides, now most of us have learned what Takoyaki is just from the fallout.
Gyro? Well known? As a Pokemon move and a machine part, maybe, not as food. What's so wrong with us having to learn a little about Japanese food?
And if it's a "major underlying plot theme", well how the hell are you going to make an octopus pastry do the same literary thing as a fancy burrito?
