I know it's spelled Inafune but is the "e" silent. It's a dumb question I know, but I'd really like to know.

Well techically, it's spelled out in Japanese characters. OH HO HO HO HO!
...But seriously, I have not looked at his name, but everywhere I've seen it, it's been "Inafune."
And actually, no, that E is not silent if they bother writing it with the NE character as opposed to the N character in Japanese. There are not that many silent vowels in that language. It might be pronounced very slightly, but it is pronounced.
Imagine that last E as an é. That's more how the pronunciation goes, as far as my experience with Japanese goes (which is limited to anime and knowing random tidbits about the language...actually that E is like the E in anime, so there).

Oh, thats it. It's come up a few time when I'm talking to my friends. I might be talking about Hideo Kojima and one of them ask "Who invented megaman" and I want to answer Keiji Inafune but I wouldn't be sure so I just say some guy named Keiji.
Are forums made for such useless conversation. LOL.
