I recently got Marvel vs. Capcom 2. All was good. All was fine. All was wonderful.
Of course, since I am a suck queen at fighting games and lack the finger endurance to boot, I had to turn to Gamefaqs for a little help on moves and such. The training mode helps but I am dense. So, I am reading away in a guide for our favorite (okay, most of our favorite) wedge-head, and I skim through her bio. Skim skim skim. Skim skim skim! There, I picked up something rather... irksome, being a Legends fan and loving those Bonne pirates to death:
She's evil.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold the phone! Tron is evil? The Bonne pirates are not evil. Destructive, yes. Bumbling, yes. Huge tendency to make things FUBAR, yes. Evil? No. The Bonnes are not evil at all, provided you understand them a bit.
Or are they?
Let's see: Teisel is only doing what's best for his family. Tron is only doing what's best for her family. Bon (Not "Bom" or "Bomb!") likes to go "Babuu" and probably does the same as his brother and sister. The kobun listen to their mommy regardless of the morals, which depends on who's they are with the Bonnes having different morals than the Average Joe, like any other children. They are having money problems. They were probably rich, looking at their parents. They're stealing bread and trying to find the Grail that will provide and stop them from having the need to steal bread.
Okay, they're a bit self-serving, but does that make them evil? But doesn't any other family member slap down the world for the sake of their kin? Depends but in most level-headed cases, probably.
In other words, the Bonnes are not evil. If you see them as evil, then you don't know them that well. Play Legends again and pay attention. They just care about each other. They being evil or not depends on how you view them caring and loving only one another rather than the rest of the world.
Anyone else have any assumptions they've seen about the Legends series and characters that sort of annoy them that they'd like to share?
