not only do reaverbots have that whole red eye thing in common, but i have noticed that many reaverbots have an antenna-like thing. Is it a reception antenna, or just another part of their design?

Interesting concept, I hadn't really noticed that before. The Reaverbots are very diverse, but they all share the same basic style of design in many ways. A quick look through the Legends player's guide looks like about 16/22 of them have spikes, or antennae. If used for reception of any importance, the other 6 are out of luck! LOL So it would seem they are just part of the design, however...
Amazingly, it just so happens that I am working on a pair of 3D Reaverbots right now. The Orudakoitan and Arukoitan. These two are the stationary Reavers that sit with rotating heads, and the ones that walk around on two legs and shoot fireballs when they see you.
As any decent Legends player should know, one is controlled by the other. If you take down the Orudakoitan, the Arukoitan paired with it will cease to function. Could it be a clue to this "reception antenna" concept?...

I doubt it has much of a significance. It might just be part of the Legends-y look.

Maybe the antennae on the Reaverbots receive signals from central stations, such as the Main Gate or Elysium, which in turn are transmitted by mother units like Yuna and Sera when the world becomes cluttered with Carbons, which accounts for their activation at the start of MML.
