I have beaten Mega Man 64 - 3 times and I am working on hard mode now...........I am planning on buying Legends 2.....however, I will be getting used to a whole new control scheme........and I'm really going to miss the analog stick.......has anyone else done this? any tips?
Also, I am looking at Legends 2 FAQs........Does the game still have items sorted into four groups? Normal, Special, Buster Parts, and Special Weapons? Or perhaps are there sub-groups now?

Never played the 64 version myself, but you can use the analog stick for control on Playstation, also, if that's what you mean. They're pretty easy controls to get used to. Use Control Scheme B, though, because honestly, I don't know what Capcom was thinking with Scheme A.
The classification system for items is pretty much the same. You shouldn't have any trouble there.

Oh really.........I've never owned a PS1......but I have a PS1 game that I play on PS2 and the analog sticks do not work so I assumed the PS1 didn't have one, lol......I'll be sure to try out Scheme B, thanks!
If everything else is the same then I should be great.....the FAQ I read had a section titled, "Combinable Items"......I'm assuming that's a sub-division of Normal Items that the author named himself? The day the word "combinable" appears in a MegaMan game would be a sad day indeed.....

Combinable items would probably be the parts you find for weapons, and give to Roll, considering she combines them into new weapons and items. I think they're noted by their own little icon(a gear, if I'm not mistaken), but no, they fall under the normal items category.
You can use the Analog Stick to move around, assuming that's what you used it for in the N64, that should be about the same. That nifty Trigger button isn't behind it though...
I'm not sure if anyone really uses Control Scheme A, but it's pretty annoying to me. You use the Shoulder buttons(L1 and R1) to turn, rather than the D-Pad's Left and Right buttons which are used for Strafing. Scheme B is pretty much the opposite, L1 and R1 strafe, Left and Right control your direction.

Hey, I use Scheme A! I like that using the D-pad moves you in the direction you press. I guess I'm just used to it, but it really makes playing other games where you can only use L1 and R1 to strafe a little harder.
I guess I'm just the opposite of most people, cause all my friends think that control scheme's really weird too.

Maybe it's just me, but going from MM64 to MML isn't too hard. I actually prefer the controls on the Playstation to the N64 ones.

Sorry, but it's not. I picked up the PC version of Legends 1 for $2.
And well, yeah, I'm sure Scheme A's doable, Dashe, it just feels strange to me.

Wow, well at any rate, best deal I personally ever made, lol
So Life Gauge is now "Bionic Parts?" Much cooler! So Armor, Helmet, Plug, Licenses, Keys, Canteen, all appear on a Special Items Screen again? Cool...
This FAQ lists "Mechanic Notes 5" twice.........which is it: Shielding Notes or Laser Manual? I'm assuming the other one should be 7, Correct? Does the Item Screen list them as ___ Notes or Mechanic Notes _?
Hmm......some of the Buster Part names are horrible......Accessory Pack Alpha? Wow, Omni Unit Omega was 13764% better.....
I love researching a game before I play it, lol........

The things do appear in Special Items, but they don't really have those nifty sprites they used to have.
Mechanic Notes 1-5 or 6 however many there are are listed as such, until you show them to Roll and she tells you what they're for. Then they're listed by what they teach you to do. So both..

Thanks but you missed half the question.....: This FAQ lists "Mechanic Notes 5" twice.........which is it: Shielding Notes or Laser Manual? The other one should be "Mechanic Notes 7", I'm assuming?

I don't quite remember, but if 5 was listed twice, wouldn't that make the second one 6? I'll look 'em up. Do yourself a favor though, read about these on MMHP. From MMHP.net# Mechanic Notes 1: [Makes Radar Notes] # Mechanic Notes 2: [Makes Artillery Notes] # Mechanic Notes 3: [Makes Spreadfire Notes] # Mechanic Notes 4: [Makes Beam Blade Notes] # Mechanic Notes 5: [Makes Shielding Notes] # Mechanic Notes 6: [Makes Autofire Notes] |
You find Laser Manual by itself, it doesn't come from any Mechanic Notes.

I must be weird to because I use the scheme A....the other scheme confuse me. Maybe because I'm used to it from the first game. I don't know.
