Honestly, you are far from the only person to choose to remake Mega Man Legends 1. There are at least two other active projects that I'm aware of, one of which has literally the same goal as yours. If you're looking to get some hype surrounding the project, it would be a better idea to make something entirely new, with a smaller scope. Check out the kinds of projects that have reached a state of completion on the Sky Pirate Arcade, and you'll notice that a lot of them have a small, simple design scope in common. I know, this probably isn't the response you'd like to hear, but I've been here on MMLS for fifteen years and seen many, many, many attempts at remaking Legends 1 get announced and then disappear into the ether. More so than any other kind of game pitch. It is the number one most common idea for a Legends fangame, no contest. If you're really attached to Legends 1, have you considered remaking Beast Hunter by itself? Or the racing minigame? Or a minigame about kicking the can? Have you considered making an original ruin or island instead, one that's a lot smaller in scale so it's easier for a small team to develop? Is this a project you would be able to complete even if you had nobody volunteer to help you? Creating a situation where you're dependent on kind, skilled strangers to just randomly join your dev team generally doesn't work well in the long term. If you really, really want to recruit other people, what exactly are you looking for? What roles are available? Are all of the staff roles you're looking for now appropriate to this point in the pipeline? Is your answer "everything" or "whatever I can get?" Just having a blanket recruitment post isn't going to help. For example, I'm a voice actor. I cannot count the number of times someone with a game in pre-alpha has asked me to record for them and then dropped the project when they realized game design is hard. People who need voice actors for their games really shouldn't start off with casting voice actors. So it's very important to familiarize yourself with the development pipeline so you know exactly what you need now and what can wait until later. But again, fifteen years of this, and my best advice is to do as much by yourself or with very trusted friends as you can, so you aren't chasing people down or dependent on factors outside of your control. Generally, it's a good idea to get to know a community before dropping in to just recruit, too. And if you're using someone else's models, you'll definitely want to credit the artist for their work. They worked very hard to get where they're at. Even if it's a placeholder until you get a modeler interested in helping out, you'll always want to give credit where credit's due. Despite everything, I wish you lots of luck. I do hope you decide to scale back on the scope and maybe create some new content instead of treading the same ground that dozens of game developers have been treading around here for over ten years. The simpler the game is, the higher the chance it'll see a state of completion. And when whatever you make is ready, make sure to submit it to the Sky Pirate Arcade, too!

Thanks for the opinion, I'm aware of the others , and they appear to be very inactive also very far from the goal. So no. I'll continue doing this thanks. Lol

Please keep your opinions to yourself. I didn't ask for anyone's opinion. This is a recruitment, not sure why I'm looking here anyways. Seems like a bunch of useless nerds that think they know it all. Lololol

Well, that's quite the broad statement. As Dashe said, if you want to successfully recruit people for a project, you should specify what exactly you're looking for. Otherwise, nobody will know what they're signing up for. People reasonably want to know what they're going to do before joining something, because that's a big commitment! Take a look at what accomplished indie developers do when they need help with their games. It's never a general statement. Also, we're not saying any of this to put you down; this is genuine constructive criticism that can help guide your project to a successful future.

Lololol Man zanny comeback, but coming from someone whos also been working on legends content I would say you should at least have some product to show before recruitment, especially if you have a dev team already. Like dashe said, what are you looking for? is this just a direct remake? If you want to have people help you then just don't get offended... Because if we're just a bunch of "useless nerds" then what does that make you lmao

Lololol You know we have an explicit rule against disrespect, right? It's not ambiguous, and it's something you'd have seen if you'd read the rules and taken any time to get to know us at all. And let's be honest here, it's extremely disrespectful to go into a community full of people you don't know just asking them for free labor without even being specific about what you need, and then calling everyone in it a bunch of useless nerds when they aren't lining up to offer their services. It reminds me of those guys who slide into women's DMs to hit on them and then call them rude names when the response isn't immediate flattery. Best of luck with the project, though.

You ever played demos of Tuttle's Legendary Travels? You should use the TLT demos as a reference for the style of graphics and gameplay for your game your making because I would love to see your Mega Man Legends 1 Remake in the style of Tuttle's Legendary Travels.
