Mat Pat from The Game Theorists speaks about the main timeline in the Megaman universe, specifically how Willy ultimately manages to destroy all mankind through his actions. Most of what he mentions is already well known to all Megaman fans in general but it's still an interesting video, plus it may turn more people into fans of the Legends series, who knows?

Yeah I just watched it too. It was entertaining. Even tho my knowledge of the lore to the Megaman franchise as a whole is pretty sparse except for the Legends series, it did come off as his usual basic theory. The coincidence was awesome for me since I've been watching Clement's LPs of all the Megaman games in chronological order.
As someone on the Discord server pointed out; apparently Wily's goals wasn't destruction and the extinction of all mankind. However I am fairly certain that WAS Sigma's goal, to eleminate humans have a world only for reploids/robots, so the fact the world is left to Carbons... kinda works. And if you go by MatPat's theory that Sigma is essentially possessed by Wily, then yes; Wily by technicality won. And got rid of his mortal enemy. Like... what? 3 or 4 times? Classic Megaman was eliminated somehow (I personally chock it up to time travel since in the Gameboy games a future Megaman is reprogrammed by Wily and sent back in time), X's body got killed in the Zero series (his "soul" vanishing after helping to defeat Omega Zero - Wily's creation), Trigger was essentially destroyed and then stranded on the moon.

I've seen this one come up in my recommendations a few times, but never watched it, despite being a fan of MatPat's stuff.
Or, I guess I should say, some of MatPat's stuff.
Granted, I've enjoyed some oddball Game and Film Theories here and there, but it's usually the more tangible stuff I appreciate -- Food Theory and Style Theory, specifically.
But for something based on fiction, I have a tougher time with it, at least sometimes (there were some fun ones about some mobile gardening game that I couldn't help myself and clicked on some ages ago).
I think it's mostly to how often it seems like fans think about some of the inner-workings of the games' fictional worlds more than the developers do, as it seems they don't tend to think much beyond the current installment (at least, in this franchise). That, as well as the fact that a new director on a new game could just change things on a whim, or just drop something entirely.
Hey, remember Isoc? Oh man, I can't wait to see what he gets up to in order to mess with X and Zero next! And he's gotta be Wily in some way, right?
Yeah. That thread's been hanging for nearly as long as MegaMan has been on the moon.
Stuff like that is why I just have a harder time getting into the more fictionally-oriented theories, MatPat or otherwise.
Still, if it was entertaining, then I might give this one a go yet.
