Comcept posted in the comments section saying that they're preparing something to show related to gameplay, and tweeted saying that there'll be some kind of special event at the end of the week. Also, USgamer did an interview with Inafune: www.usgamer.net/articles/red-ash-a-brief-qa-with-comcepts-keiji-inafune-Nothing that we didn't already know, I think. Edit: I'd forgotten to comment about this. In yesterday's update, they showed the "full version" of the animated video. I (still) like the voice acting (of course), and how the characters relationships are more like that of business partners rather than friends (this will probably change as their relationships develop during the game).

Comcept just teased that today's update "Might cause some speculation..."
Edit: So today's update unveiled another member of the team, Kazushi Ito, who's worked on several Megaman Titles in the past. Here's the list of his previous projects provided by the update
Darkwing Duck – Object Designer DuckTales 2 – Object Designer Mega Man 5 – Object Designer Mega Man 6 – Object Designer Mega Man 7 – Object Designer Mega Man Battle & Chase – Special Thanks! Mega Man Legends – World Setting, Art Contents, Production, Character & Mechanical Design, Texture Concepts Parasite Eve 2 – Storyboard Artist Ape Escape 3 – Planner, Character Designer, Scenario, Art Contents
He apparently will be in charge of a lot of character design in Red Ash.

I'm not sure why they didn't just unveil the whole team all at once, at the start. I can't really bring myself to get excited over staff, even if they've worked on things I've liked. Do people really get hyped up over this kind of thing?

Some people do. I tend to get excited over voiceactors and such. This is less exciting, but it's still facinating stuff and it helps reaffirm the thought that this will be a good game.

Yeah I agree the whole introducing staff is sorta boring. Though I guess it is nice to know the people they pick know what they are doing. I want them to show off Gameplay that would be cool.

With the release of the "full" video, I've been able to reassemble a few more pieces of artwork. I'm including them below, plus in the original post on page 4.

Hopefully the naysayers will be able to understand that gameplay on this kind of an engine is not something that can be whipped up so quickly while still looking slick and sharp at the same time. I'm expecting it to be very alpha. And not in the ALPHA MAN (TM) sense of the phrase.

A new update is out! Comcept says that everyone who pledges (or increases the pledge to) at least $79 will also get the sequel (the second part of the story) when released. But for a very limited time (in fact, just until midnight of today (July 17th) California time (or July 18th, 16:00 Japan time), whoever pledges (or increases the pledge to) $49, will also get it! Edit: I couldn't resist and used this as an excuse (I mean, as my cue ) to finally take the plunge. Soundtrack, you're mine!

I don't understand HOW people are taking this update negatively! Seriously it's like people are LOOKING for excuses to react negatively to this now >.< That being said, yesssss keep those delicious pledges flowing! Seems like the #20onthe20th movement is still going too so who knows?

Edit: I couldn't resist and used this as an excuse (I mean, as my cue ) to finally take the plunge. Soundtrack, you're mine! Hey, thanks for posting this! I'd read the newsletter but missed the part about the special offer for those upgrading today. You saved me thirty bucks! Also, I suppose some people are taking it negatively because, and I could see why they'd say this, we're now looking at getting two new games (the prequel and the main game) for a sum of 80$. That's fine for me, but some people could logically look at this as being asked to kickstart both a game and its sequel for 40$ each (granted, 25$ for a limited time), one with an estimated gameplay offering of 8 hours and another with 12. At 40$ each it's a heftier investment than something like shantae or skullgirls from their kickstarters. And, although I'm late on getting to this point and it's perhaps already been trodden, many people became disenfranchised once they learned this is only coming to pc and one current gen console. A lot of people were reasonably expecting the game to come out for either multiple platforms or at least the 3ds, where Megaman Legends initially seemed destined to go before MML3 was canned. We all have friends with bad pcs for gaming and no opportunity to get the ps4/Xbone/Wii U. It's hard to ask anyone to spend money on a game they aren't sure they're going to be able to play, and MML fans of the past didn't necessarily know they needed to be saving up for a gaming pc to play this new one. All I'm saying is, I think there are valid points for those experiencing trepidation. I can't hold it against naysayers. That said, I've made my pledge and hope Red Ash meets its mark, as one who's been waiting for just such an opportunity for a long time. Edited to correct all of my terrible maths.

Hey, thanks for posting this! I'd read the newsletter but missed the part about the special offer for those upgrading today. You saved me thirty bucks! Oh, really? Awesome! Okay, now that I've become a backer, I can vote for one of the consoles. Even though I have neither, I figured I might as well vote since I have the chance. But I'm unsure about which one to vote for. I don't like Microsoft, so Xbox One's out. In the comments section, people have said that Nintendo is already cooking up a successor to the Wii U, so Wii U's life might have ended by the time the game is released (I know nothing about this, but I think that maybe the next nintendo console will be able to run Wii U games, since Nintendo's consoles are usually backwards compatible). Lastly, there's PS4, which seems to be selling better than the other two and will likely stay around for a while longer. Some people who don't have these consoles said to have voted for PS4 based on this. Any other thoughts? And what are the PC specs to run games at least reasonably nowadays?

I can't imagine you'd need too beefy a rig to play Red Ash, in consideration they used Unreal Engine for their last game. So I'd imagine similar specs? My guess is probably more space, but around the same power, as a free roam game will need maybe 20gb? I mean I'm not expecting it to run you through the ringer like Dead Rising 3 or GTA5 did with a 60gb install. OS: Windows 7 64-bit or newer Processor: Intel Core i5 @ 3.3 GHz or AMD Phenom II X6 Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: Radeon HD 7950 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti Hard Drive: 2 GB available space Also, holy crap guys, I hope this sudden surge continues!
It's hard to ask anyone to spend money on a game they aren't sure they're going to be able to play, and MML fans of the past didn't necessarily know they needed to be saving up for a gaming pc to play this new one. The biggest reason I think they won't be touching the 3DS is because they've been working in Unreal Engine. I'm only going to assume they'll use this engine again because they still hold a license for it, not to mention its a pretty ok engine. This is where we hit the 3DS snag, 3DS has no native Unreal Engine support, most consoles do though. Heck, the WiiU even has partial support for UE4. I'm sure if they had a big enough push at the end they would try to bring it to all 3 current gen consoles, but porting tends to be a pretty expensive process when you have a smaller dev team. MN9 on 3DS runs... significantly different, but relatively the same. I wouldn't rule out Red Ash getting ported post release if it does well though.

I feel like we havn't really discussed alot of the actual game details due to all this kickstarter madness! I'm going to dump alot of pertinent information from the kickstarter: As a result of the Robot World War, humanity is driven to the brink of extinction. Humanity has managed to persevere and survive, battling now feral robotic weapons at every turn in a world of nothing but wasteland and ruins... With the advent of Lost Technology, precious legacies of a forgotten era, they have managed to rebuild their society. A wealthy class has emerged, helping to expand these newly formed cities and settlements and living in opulence as a result. However, their livelihoods are supported by the brave fools who hunt the dangerous ruins and wastelands for Lost Technology. These people are known simply as Delvers. So the same basic background of Legends. The opulence bit reminds me of Klicklan, and also of Bluecher. I hope we get a not-Bluecher! Gecko Company, one of the organizations central to Great Slope, has prepared a massive electromagnetic cannon christened "the Peacemaker" to combat this catastrophe. They announced their plan to destroy the massive Mobile Citadel before it reaches the settlement. Great Slope quickly switches from a city enveloped in panic, to one ready to sit back and enjoy the fireworks of the special, once-in-a-lifetime Burning Cannon Festival. Great Slope is the name of the city? Also a giant cannon designed to destroy the MoTB Colossus-like robot-fortress? A big fireworks show? Sounds hilarious but obviously they are going to destroy something precious. Also the Gecko company? Run by not-Bluecher I'm sure. Maybe NoTron works there? However, not everyone welcomes this announcement; particularly the young owner of the Bones Company, Call C. Bones. All Delvers have heard the famous folktale... that inside the belly of KalKanon rests the Legendary Legacy... "I think we should grab the treasure for ourselves, before those rich blowhards blow the whole dang place sky-high!" "We have about 14 hours left until KalKanon is within firing range of the Peacemaker." "Hop on over there, grab anything you can get your grubby little hands on, and hurry on back! Simple, huh?" "This is an official offer from the Bones Company. You got 3 minutes before we head out!" Of course, she sends the request for this crazy job to her favorite stooges: partners Beck and Tyger. So obviously the Mother Lode Legendary Legacy isn't actually in KalKanon, but probably something like an ancient person. Call is sassy as hell! The main character, Beck, is tasked with infiltrating the interior of the Mobile Citadel KalKanon, exploring it's village, castle, and hidden dungeons. His goal is to stop KalKanon before the Peacemakers make piecemeal of the whole thing! How are Beck and crew going to stop KalKanon? Is it even possible? What is the "Legendary Legacy" that is rumored to be hidden there? Can Beck get his hands on it, if it truly exists? Who exactly is this so-called witch that lurks in KalKanon?A village, castle and Dungeons? Neat. Inhabited by NPCs? There is at least a Witch, who is confirmed elsewhere as NoTron so that rules her out as a Gecko employee right? Why do they call her a Witch? Of course, a key part of the game will be delving into dungeons to earn money in order to have Call develop parts and upgrade Beck's abilities (in true action RPG fashion). Lots of fun! Upgrade abilities? Jump Springs? Skates? We have more plans and concepts we would like to implement, and we've integrated those ideas into our stretch goals. This includes making Tyger a playable character, special challenge dungeons, a village reconstruction system and more! The more stretch goals we clear, the closer we can take this game towards its original concept!Village reconstruction? So surely there are human inhabitants of KalKanon. Making Gecko and Great Slope's plans really messed up. But I guess if one or the other will have to be destroyed... but is that the only option? Why rebuild a KalKanon village in time for it to explode? Beck: Male, 16 years old
A young boy who teams up with his partner Tyger, aiming to hit it big as Delvers. He is very dexterous and excels in using his fleet-footedness in battle, and adept at infiltration into the most heavily guarded areas.
His left arm can be interchanged with different types of tools and weapons, allowing him to adapt to any situation or terrain.
Prosthetic confirmed. Infiltration? Reminds me of a certain fangame. Tyger: Male, 30 somethin' years old
Beck's trustworthy partner. Although he has a rough way of talking, he also has a wise and level-headed demeanor that belies his tough appearance. He is an adept sharpshooter with incredible accuracy and precision, as well as a talented driver capable of operating a wide variety of vehicles and machinery.
He runs the T&B Company along with Beck.Sounds pretty Teiselly to me. A bit older actually. Trust worthy though? Well I guess Teisel was trust worthy as well really. The Magicicada description gives a better idea. They apparently have a company. Call: Female, 17 years old A young girl who runs a rinky-dink shop called Bones Company inside Great Slope.
She's run the place on her own since her parents disappeared on her at the age of 10. She's poured all of her time and energy into protecting and improving the shop they left behind, making sure everything is in order just in case they ever come home... Also, she loves money. Like REALLY loves money.
This mechanic specializes in buying lost technology excavated by Delvers and breaking it down into scrap for her own custom weapon designs.
Call seems to have a very bright personality, but she is extremely strict when it comes to matters of money. She's a master bargainer, and never lets a single cent to go to waste.
Utilizing her technological know-how and information network, she has sent Beck and Tyger on a variety of strange missions over the years.
Call is basically exactly the way Dashe thinks about Roll. Loves money, has missing parents, is a mechanical genius. Gofer: Gender/age unknown
An autonomous A.I.-powered robot created by Call, and official employee of the Bones Company. Seems like it receives a salary, but no one knows the details.
Its face is actually a digital monitor capable of displaying a wide range of expressions or different types of information.
Call made an AI? And it clearly is a rip-off of MMLS' Devroom Mascot entry. Also probably is paid more than Beck and Tyger. Karumuna Bash confirmed, plus Tyger is seen driving a mech. Now for Magicicada information. The worlds are separate, but parallel. I think this means that many of the things that exist in the anime also exist in the game, but the events are not exactly canon. Key Word: Cicada Key Numbers: 13 & 17 They say that pushing the wrong button will cause “them” to awaken and emerge from underground. Is the map grandpa gave to Beck a treasure map? Or a landmine map? Intrigued by the mysterious code, Beck and his best friend Deny continue to dig caves in search of hidden treasure. But the friends end up parting ways and competing for the treasure. Pictures drawn by Automata A mysterious Japanese clock The meaning of a cue from a spring-driven computer ...? As the action-filled treasure hunt evolves, Call and Tyger befriend Beck. Different mysteries and items appear at each new stage of the saga. The imaginations of the creators behind the stories run wild!
Seems like some horrible thing happens every 13-17 years. Sounds kind of familiar right? Gramps confirmed. Some guy named Deny confirmed. Rivals? Also Landmine map?Could be some interesting backstory there. I've heard many people say they think this anime is actually a prequel so maybe keep that in mind, 'Call and Tyger befriend Beck.' Finally this rather large image explains that Beck is Rock, Call is Roll, and 'Taiga' is Teisel. I really like this outfit for Taiga btw. I wonder what that 'but...' part of Call's description is getting at? ImageSo what do you think?
