Hey I'm a bit rusty on what all was involved with the elder system and whatnot in the end if Legends 2 and how it was going to tie into Legends 3 from what fans could piece together. I have a project in the works and having a much more in depth grasp of knowledge on what exactly the ending of legends 2 left us with would be outstanding. I leave this open to anyone that can put their two cents in of what they know!

Oh, hey, haven't seen you around here for a while. Welcome back! Anyway, here's what I've got so far: The direct exchange about the Elder System between Yuna and Sera at the end of Legends 2 is as follows: Yuna: Now that Elysium is no longer functioning, the old System the Master's people shut down has started to reactivate. It was [Sera's] responsibility to monitor it. If you die, and it takes over, the Master's work was for nothing! Do you want that? Sera: Do you mean to say that? The Elder System is becoming active again? Yuna: There are remnants of that System buried all over Terra in what the carbons call ruins. There's so many even I don't know if how many there are. I doubt they've be fully active soon, but eventually they will. If we don't do anything, just imagine what will happen to Terra and all its people. If the Elders and their machines activate, what will your sacrifice here have been for? What do you say, Sera? Are you up for living with the people the Master left behind? As far as the Legends 3 Prototype goes, the biggest system-related event involved a bunch of those black monoliths with the eye on them descending from a dark, ominous sky over Klickelan. You had to run around town as Barrett defeating Reaverbots that have been attacking civilians. I'm not sure myself whether this happened because of Sera beginning the Carbon Re-Initialization program on Elysium (which she paused for the fight with Trigger at the end of Legends 2), or if this has to do with the Elders, but I am leaning towards this being more a result of the Master System. The monoliths looked too much like Juno's back at Kattelox, which was dispatched from EDEN and definitely a product of the Master System. Since Reaverbots were confirmed for Legends 3--we had two events on 'em, one major and one minor--and since Yuna directly said that the Elders were the original owners of the ruins, you'd think they wouldn't be completely controlled by the Master System, but then again, you also have four ruins on Terra dedicated to hiding the four keys to the library, which was definitely a Master System thing. The fact that Hangekal (those three key Reaverbots in Calbania) were designed specifically to keep the key to the fourth door shut, and that the four bosses from the key ruins have duplicates on Elysium, leads me to think that the Master System at least managed to appropriate the idea of Reaverbots and ruins for their own use. There are a couple of characters in this bit from TRRL who kind of look like Reaverbots, too. They bear the Rockman title, but we're also aware that the name Rockman dates all the way back to Classic. There could be a chance that the Elder System had Rockmen of their own. Serges from the X series seems to also have a Reaverbot eye, so while I'm not too well-versed on that character's background, the design element does stretch back pretty far in the timeline. It may be worth looking into. As far as fan theories go on the Elders, Arne has a really solid one that's worth a look if you haven't seen it already. There are probably a bunch of things I forgot. The Systems were never really my strong suit.

Pittsburgh, PA!!! Thats were I'm from! Welcome to the club. I think Dashe covered it pretty well, I've always imagined mega man fighting reaverbots on the moons surface myself. I would be interested in seeing your project once it's done too

It's good to be back I'm trying to get back in the swing of things here. Since my last posts here I've been working up the corporate ladder at CVS and prepping to have my aunt move in to my house and just working full time plus overtime is.. killer to say the least haha. BUT Let me see if I got this correct.. trying to narrow it down sorta. So the masters system was built sorta as a new system over top of what the elder system once was? I'm not sure if you are too familiar with the halo series lately but are these elders like the forerunners of the Halo series?

I think the Elders were more hostile and less extinct than the Forerunners seem, judging from the wiki. I've never actually played the games, so if anyone else knows more about this, feel free to correct me where I'm mistaken. Whatever it was they did when they were around, it prompted the last of the human race to build Elysium to evacuate the planet and create the Master System just to keep it in check. Keep in mind the Master System seems pretty secure, and Yuna didn't sound too happy about the Elder System reactivating--so from what I'm understanding, the Elders here are just reawakening now, and dangerous enough to be a concern to a Mother Unit.

(Thanks to Halo 4, the achievement of extinction has been stricken from their résumés.) It's understandable to consider the Elders and Forerunners alike. The MML lore hasn't exactly been enriched by official sources these past few years. Given the fact that humanity was forced to flee Terra, the Elders were either an interfering alien race or a rebellious series of AI. Who knows? Maybe it's a little of both!
