I came upon a unfortunate incident recently. My roomate was playing through a new game, went a good ways in and had saved several times previously on the last save slot (if I remember correctly..). At one point however, the game decided to lock up while it was in the middle of saving a file....this resulted in all my saved games which filled almost all of the available slots, to be erased. All exept for the save file no. 1....which I had left at the last data save spot at the end game.
So my question is...why would it erase all save files exept for save file 1? The save file that remains works perfectly with no glitches at all. And the cartridge itself is not damaged, nor should the battery chip be dead since the game isn't very old. The only factor for this cause and effect is the game freezing up at the worst time possible. I'm just curious as to why that slot in particular wasn't effected.
