Oh, are we back on this topic again? Good, seeing as I beat the game within the past week that I've owned it. Quite a late answer, Cy, quite late indeed. I'm not wanting to get back on this argument again, seeing as I won it over a month ago with an overwhelming amount of logic. How about a topic that most of us can get behind? Something like, say, discussing what our ideal team would look like and sharing opinions of others' teams? Incidentally, I just so happen to have a document sheet outlining my preferred team of Pokémon at the ready.
#658 Greninja (Kage) [WATER/DARK] Torrent + Protean Timid [Scald] [Dark Pulse] [Ice Beam] [Toxic Spikes]
#292 Shedinja (Toorima) [BUG/GHOST] Wonder Guard Lonely [Shadow Sneak] [X-Scissor] [Will-O-Wisp] [Toxic]
#448 Lucario (Kagai) [FIGHTING/STEEL] Steadfast Adamant [Close Combat] [Metal Claw] [Stone Edge] [Bone Rush]
#405 Luxray (Raiu) [ELECTRIC] Intimidate Naughty [Giga Impact] [Wild Charge] [Volt Switch] [Thunderbolt]
#681 Aegislash (Hakujin) [STEEL/GHOST] Stance Change Brave [King's Shield] [Sacred Sword] [Iron Head] [Shadow Claw]
#242 Blissey (Chiyu) [NORMAL] Natural Cure Bold [Dazzling Gleam] [Soft-Boiled] [Thunder Wave] [Aromatherapy]

Oh, it got to an actual argument? I never thought it would get to that point...sorry. I'll forget about the whole thing then.
I'll have to put a list for my team now...

You can't really apologize when somebody gives an... aloof response like that. Be a little more considerate of others, Bowen. I'm just after noticing the tone there myself, and it can easily be taken the wrong way. Incidentally, what're the 'best' possible types of friend-safaris to get? I've heard Psychic is a pretty sweet deal.

Every Type has their own share of pros and cons. For Psychic-Types, they benefit from a high focus on Sp. Atk, seeing as almost every damaging Psychic-Type Move is classified under the Special category, save for exceptions such as Zen Headbutt and Psycho-Cutter.

Cripes, am I too late? NOPE. Don't care, filling in the survey anyhow. This. I like filling out surveys too much to care if everyone else has moved on with their lives, and you gotta deal with it! 1. What is your favorite Pokemon?
Jigglypuff. Cute, simple design, pink and sassy as hell. 2. What is your least favorite Pokemon?
Bidoof. They look stupid, their name is stupid, their evolution is worse in both regards, and they're one of those Pokemon that pop up every three seconds early in whichever game they were in. Looking at a picture of one actually makes me angry. 3. Which games do you own(gen 1-gen 6)
None. I've owned most of them at one point or another, but they're all gone now. I recently sold them, all my DS games and my 3DS. 4. What do you think of the new Fairy-type?
It's fine I guess. I don't care. 5. What do you think can be improved/added to the Pokemon games?
They can probably improve them by not making any more of them. I really loved the streamlining they did with X & Y and even then it couldn't hold my interest. The xp sharing made it too easy and thus boring whereas before the grinding was grinding and thus boring. I guess Pokemon needs more...something to hold my attention. Maybe give me a story or characters that I might actually be able to care about? It was easy, but with even a little motivation I would have gladly played through it for the story if there was one. Or, and I know this scenario would be unthinkable for Nintendo, they could actually try something different with Pokemon instead of remaking the same game every few years with increasingly more desperate new Pokemon designs. 6. What do you think the next Pokemon game should be(where, for example. Or what it's based off. I don't know, your answer.)
I suppose I've shown my hand at this point, but even if I was still interested, does it matter? I suppose setting it in an earlier time period could be interesting, but the gameplay would still be same at its core so meh. 7. What is your favorite and least favorite Pokemon type?
Psychic is my favorite because it's cool and fighting is my least favorite because it's stupid. 8. What was the hardest Gym Leader and Champion you fought in the entire game?
I quit at some point after the fifth or six badge and I hadn't encountered any challenges at all by that point. I was knocking every major challenger out with one hit shots for each Pokemon they sent at me. I have never done this in any other Pokemon game and it's not like I was grinding like crazy, so that's an issue. Again, if there was anything of substance in between these easy fights, everything would have been fine. 9. If you could have only one starter of the three you get at each game, and only one of all eighteen(plus Pikachu I guess. Nineteen then.), which would you have?
Pikachu because he's cute and yellow, but preferably the old fat Pikachu. He also turns into Raichu, which is cool too. 10. What's your favorite gen/game?
Gen...in terms of the Pokemon? One. And X(& Y) would have to be my favorite game. It was still boring, but at least it was the most well-made Pokemon game to date. 11. What's the first Pokemon game you actually owned?
Yellow.

With the recent release of Pokemon Bank and its complementary PokeTransporter app, I've found myself somewhat reluctantly playing my copy of X, especially after being inspired to by playing a few ROMhacks--namely LocksmithArmy's Ultra Violet and LinkandZelda's Liquid Crystal ROMhacks for FireRed and the Emerald 386 patch. I've started out with a Froakie, and now have it, a Fletchling, my gift Torchic, and Sycamore's Squirtle on my team, and am just heading out on Route 5.
I'm still very much angry about how the Pokemon Bank works, and scared that I won't be able to port my White 2 team over to breed my typical standard team due to the nature of their continued survival (i.e, they have Premier Ribbons from being backed up on Pokecheck), so I've only brought over through the PokeTransporter app my Legendaries from White and White 2, as well as which ones I can port from SoulSilver. I've saved my Lugia, my Reshiram from White 2, my Zekrom from White, both the Kyurems from White and White 2--I sense this might cause a time paradox--as well as my Resolute Forme Keldeo, among others.
I know my preferred team, when I get it all figured out, will still be the same as it always has been: Swampert, Torterra, Darmanitan, Electivire, and Braviary standard, with Aegislash joining them as the newest member. I'm just not sure if I want to go all the way and really breed up for all their moves and stuff... it's so damned complex and time-consuming.

Speaking of Pokemon Bank, I just transferred my totally legit, shiny, level 4 Giratina onto my X copy
When it comes to making my teams, I just put together something that seems fun and strategic. I don't really have anything that I prefer.

Insomnia sucks. I should be asleep by now, but here I am, questioning the dishes that the Hotel Richissime serves. "Quirky Haban Berry Terrine, Sheer Cold Style", "Brave Hondew Berry Pottage, Incinerate Style", "Adamant Maranga Berry Sandwich, Self-Destruct Style". What are these suppose to mean?! How do you prepare such a meal?! Let alone eat it after it's been frozen, burnt, or blown up at the consumer's own request.

No, there is not. Still, good observation. Either way, I still question the food choices of the Pokémon world. I can understand a serving of Azure Bay Slowpoke Tail, or fresh cooked and breaded Magikarp, but when you start adding a Pokémon's Nature and Moves to a dish, that's where it stops making sense.
I got over the ridiculous choice in food naming some time ago. However, that did not stop me from being bored out of my wits. Out of that sheer boredom, I randomly decided to compile a comprehensive list of all current Pokémon Type combinations as of Gen VI. -EDIT- Changed hyperlink to allow better access to updated versions

The list is a little hard to follow since some combinations are repeated but show up as 0 due to the primary / secondary typing phenomena; fairy / steel , steel / fairy. Seeing that there's 3 steel / fairy types but 0 fairy / steel types looks awkward. Heck, for a better example, look at the Flying column. Flying's almost always classified as a secondary typing, and as a result, you have little to no pokemon in that category, since it's so rarely a primary typing on pokemon. Doesn't that bother you? I'd personally take out all of the 0 combinations so that way, just the existing combinations remain, but that's just me. I'd probably also repeat the typings under a specific column (such as Flying) with Normal/Flying repeated even though it was already listed under normal; for the sake of type organization.

To be honest, I made the list according to some of my personal preferences. Namely, being very particular about the order in which a Pokémon's Typing is listed. For example, the sound of somebody calling Lucario "a Steel-/Fighting-Type" really riles me up. Likewise, calling Cobalion a Fighting-/Steel-Type also gets on my nerves. As for the all the zeros in there, I plan to update this chart as the Generations go on, given I find myself with enough free time to do so. This way I won't have to Cut-and-Paste a huge bulk of pixels just o make room for a new row in the future. But mostly, the real purpose of this hot mess of colours is to keep my title of "The Poképedia" among my group of lunch buddies. It's basically the only positive nickname I have left on me, and I don't plan on losing it any time soon.
P.S. A secondary purpose of the list is to give us some room to imagine what a new Pokémon would look like to fill in the empty slots.

I've beaten the Paparazzi for the Bug Badge. I've outclimbed a fitness instructor for the Cliff Badge. I've unleashed a Spirit Bomb of my own against a Saiyan Dog and its manager and claimed the Rumble Badge, and succession to the secrets of Mega Evolution. I've cut down a Green Beret in the heat of battle for the Plant Badge. I've met with and outquizzed Apple Kid's quizmaster French cousin for a vague reference to Earthbound and the Voltage Badge. I've melted down a living Barbie doll for the Fairy Badge, and Touched Fuzzy, Got Dizzy with the Kalos region's biggest stoner and opened my mind for the Psychic Badge. I've stared down Kalos' bringer of life and bound it to my will. I've stomped a Mukhole in every last Team Flare grunt and their leader Lysandre. I even beat my professor's best starters. Now all that stands between me and the Elite Four is Captain Iceberg and his Iceberg Badge. I'm going to kick Wulfric's tail end back to Antarctica. My Team: Izuna - Greninja Lv. 63 (Water/Dark) Holding Splash Plate Extrasensory Water Shuriken Aerial Ace Surf Sproutroot - Torterra (Transported From White 2)Lv. 63 (Grass/Ground) Holding Earth Plate Seed Bomb Bulldoze Earth Power Earthquake Phoenix - Talonflame Lv. 60 (Fire/Flying) Holding Sky Plate Fly Flamethrower Aerial Ace Flame Charge Microvolt - Electivire (Transported from White 2, Evolved with Trade between Wifi friend)Lv. 63 (Electric) Holding Zap Plate Power-Up Punch Ice Punch Thunder Punch Fire Punch Durandal - Doublade Lv. 60 (Steel/Ghost) Holding Dread Plate Iron Head Sacred Sword Aerial Ace Shadow Claw Goku - Lucario Lv. 58 (Fighting/Steel) Holding Lucarionite Metal Claw Power-Up Punch Shadow Claw Aura Sphere

Fatman X. Jones: I would've named your Lucario 'Bills', but I suppose that's another DB reference for another team.

To be fair, Bills would've been a great name, but I haven't seen DBZ: Battle of Gods yet (I'm stubbornly holding out for a stateside release), so I'm not sure I'd appreciate the reference as much as I should. This was all mainly an excuse to sprite them in funny pop-culture reference outfits anyway: Oh, and Durandal finally evolved into an Aegislash. Thank god I found the Dusk Stone in Terminus Cave.
