Well, I got the game (Pokemon X) a bit late than I figured I would (The 31st of December to be exact), so I wasn't going to be capable of completing it before 2014 arrived. Probably a good thing too; So far, this is a game that I actually enjoy slowing down on with my usual-hasty style progress. The pokemon models are pretty fun to watch in battle, since it kinda gives off that "Pokemon Stadium" vibe as such. That kinda thing just works really well with me. On top of that, a lot of old classic pokemon (like Pidgey, Pikachu, Caterpie, Weedle, etc) are available right from the get-go, and it makes the game feel much more at home with me than most. That being said, I'll give some stats based on my gameplay so far: I have one badge, and my team consists of Squirtle (27), Butterfree (25), Lucario (25), Pikachu (23), Pidgeotto (25), and Braixen (26). Squirtle's still at his pre-evo form because I despite Wartortle, and he gets levels much more quickly as a pre-evo anyways. Most of my other pokemon are evolving at their scheduled levels to pick up the slack too. I've clocked 7 hours and 56 minutes of playtime from this post. Based on trainer battles and wild pokemon around me, it looks as if on average (level 25), I'm about 5-6 levels above where I should be (19-20). This is for pretty good reasoning: I've had the Pitch Challenge™ in the back of my mind since I started playing it, and decided to roll with it passively after I realized how much fun I was having. KOing Pokemon that I don't need/have already provides the much-needed experience boost to achieve the levels that I'm at now. And not only that, capturing a wild pokemon yeilds experience now, just as if you defeated it. Nifty, right? And it doesn't stop there, either. You get the Exp. Share pretty early on, but it doesn't work the same way as the Exp. Share that we've all come to know and love. You could say that Gen VI's Exp. Share works just like the oldskool Exp. All from Generation I, but far more awesomely: It causes any unparticipating pokemon to get 50% of the original Exp, rather than splitting the exp six ways. But yeah, a lot of this would be old news to most of the MMLSers who already have the games, but seeing as how old this topic is, I think it needed a good brushing up anyways. Cheers to me, right? Onwards. (Seen 19, obtained 15 from the Coastal Kalos Pokedex, and seen 69, obtained 35 for Central Kalos. 50 obtained altogether... pal.)

I bought Pokemon X recently as one of my only four actual Christmas presents for 2013 (The others are Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Starbound, and a soon-to-be-purchased PSP-3000).
I have no interest in playing it until I can port my team over from White 2 and a Ditto so I can breed up my ACTUAL team for the game.

If I may, I got a few questions for everyone who is into Pokemon. You don't have to answer, but I'm kind of curious.
1. What is your favorite Pokemon? 2. What is your least favorite Pokemon? 3. Which games do you own(gen 1-gen 6) 4. What do you think of the new Fairy-type? 5. What do you think can be improved/added to the Pokemon games? 6. What do you think the next Pokemon game should be(where, for example. Or what it's based off. I don't know, your answer.) 7. What is your favorite and least favorite Pokemon type? 8. What was the hardest Gym Leader and Champion you fought in the entire game? 9. If you could have only one starter of the three you get at each game, and only one of all eighteen(plus Pikachu I guess. Nineteen then.), which would you have? 10. What's your favorite gen/game? 11. What's the first Pokemon game you actually owned?

Howdy! 1. Probably Meowstic right now. 2. I don't really have one, but Garbodor is definitely up there. What were they thinking? 3. I own at least one of everything. GI, GII, GIII, GIV, GV (and GV 2), and GVI. 4. It's... okay. Me and Pitch both agree that it's a complete curse on Clefable and that she should've just been given it as a secondary dual type. Buh bye, Double-Edge STAB. 5. ...Well, I know Normal type can be "added" back to Clefable, but I'm not really minding what they're doing right now. Gen V scared me, but Gen VI gave me hope again. Serena's awesome. 6. I think it'd be neat if the starting area with the first two towns was an island and you had to get Surf as the first HM rather than Cut, but that's primarily opinion based and I don't really mind it. I loved everything about Gen III though... I don't know what it is. 7. I wouldn't say I have a big liking for any one type, but I'm usually drawn more to Psychic types. Poison types are probably my least favorite (although they're still good in their own right,) but that's probably just because they were cursed to have Garbodor as a cousin. 8. Probably Steven. And that's Sapphire-Ruby exclusive, having him as a champion. In Emerald, he's not the champion, but he's a whole lot stronger whenever you find him. A long time ago, Lance and his three Dragonites probably weren't all that fun either, but the memory of that escapes me. 9. I: Pikachu and Charmander, II: Chikorhita and Charmander, III: Treecko and Charmander, IV: Piplup and Charmander, V: Oshawott and Charmander, VI: Fennekin and Pikachu. VI's choices stand out 'cause I find Fennekin to be special, and Pikachu needs to put his foot down as being the dominant electic mouse, because by endgame in Generation VI, I had seen at least one of both Plusle and Minun, Pachirisu, Emolga, and Dedenne. Otherwise, I'd always welcome a little Charmander on the side. 10. Definitely Gen III. Pick any of the three gem games and I'd be happy, although Emerald's probably a more natural choice due to content. 11. Pokemon Yellow. Pika-pi. So, there's my responses and such. Nice questions!

1. What is your favorite Pokemon? Dedenne. Or Braixen. Or Poochyena. Orr.. this could go on all day.
2. What is your least favorite Pokemon? Grumpig. I like Spoink, but I swear Grumpig looks like he is mocking me in X/Y. >->
3. Which games do you own(gen 1-gen 6) Only Gen 5 and Gen 6. I've played the others thanks to friends, however.
4. What do you think of the new Fairy-type? Some of them are really...eh. Some of them are Dedenne.
5. What do you think can be improved/added to the Pokemon games? Mmmm... better detailed Pokedex entries? ....oh, 600+ pokemon to write pokedex entries of. Right.
6. What do you think the next Pokemon game should be(where, for example. Or what it's based off. I don't know, your answer.) Ehh.. no ideas.
7. What is your favorite and least favorite Pokemon type? Favorite? Depends on the alignment of the stars and planets. 8. What was the hardest Gym Leader and Champion you fought in the entire game? ...I don't even know. I usually get incredibly lucky when fighting gym leaders and the champions and beat them without too much issue.
9. If you could have only one starter of the three you get at each game, and only one of all eighteen(plus Pikachu I guess. Nineteen then.), which would you have? Give me a Braixen and world peace may be achieved. Either that or the Apocalypse. So I suppose Fennekin. Though Charmander is awesome.. and Chikorita.. and Snivy.. 10. What's your favorite gen/game? I don't have one. D:
11. What's the first Pokemon game you actually owned? Hmm... Pokemon White.
There ya go, Mossy.

1. What is your favorite Pokemon? The Trapinch evolutionary line. If Pokemon were real, I'd go Vibrava Hang Gliding all the time.
2. What is your least favorite Pokemon? Pachirisu. Out of all the stupid gimmicky cute Pokemon, Pachirisu seemed like the biggest waste of space. It doesn't even EVOLVE.
3. Which games do you own(gen 1-gen 6) Red, Gold, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Pearl, and SoulSilver
4. What do you think of the new Fairy-type? I stopped playing four gens ago. I guess I'm neutral about it.
5. What do you think can be improved/added to the Pokemon games? Crossdressing. I'm not even kidding about that one. Some of those girls' outfits would look amazing on the boy character, and vice versa. And if Gen6 didn't give you a better messaging system than that stupid word bank, something where you could actually write your own notes to people from scratch with real letters would be nice.
6. What do you think the next Pokemon game should be(where, for example. Or what it's based off. I don't know, your answer.) I don't care, since I probably won't be playing it.
7. What is your favorite and least favorite Pokemon type? I'd like to say electric's my favorite, and ground's my least favorite, but I keep gravitating toward poison types for some awkward reason when it comes to the actual training part.
8. What was the hardest Gym Leader and Champion you fought in the entire game? Whitney and Cynthia. Screw you, Garchomp.
9. If you could have only one starter of the three you get at each game, and only one of all eighteen(plus Pikachu I guess. Nineteen then.), which would you have? Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Chimchar, and I guess Oshawott and Chespin for the ones I haven't played. No contest, though, out of those, I'd pick Squirtle every time.
10. What's your favorite gen/game? Gen II
11. What's the first Pokemon game you actually owned? Blue. I caught 'em all and cashed in. I regret nothing.

1. What is your favorite Pokemon?
Lugia, easily. It's probably my nostalgia goggles, but I love that Pokemon. (AND DON'T HATE ME FOR LIKING A SO-CALLED "UBER", YOU SMOGONS!) 2. What is your least favorite Pokemon?
Luvdisc. How that Pokemon even survived up until would make Darwin's head spin. 3. Which games do you own(gen 1-gen 6)
I own a version of every generation, excluding Gen-4. That one never really appealed to me. 4. What do you think of the new Fairy-type?
It feels a little... out-of-place as a Pokemon-type, but I still enjoy 'em. I even keep a Sylveon in my team for giggles. 5. What do you think can be improved/added to the Pokemon games?
More post-game content. Good lord, did X/Y drop the ball on that. 6. What do you think the next Pokemon game should be(where, for example. Or what it's based off. I don't know, your answer.)
Hmm. As of X/Y, Game Freak have been making the geography more European. Maybe something like Southern Spain and Northern Algeria? It'd be interesting for a new climate. 7. What is your favorite and least favorite Pokemon type?
It varies as far as my favourite is concerned, but I've always had a special dislike for Rock. 8. What was the hardest Gym Leader and Champion you fought in the entire game?
I'd reckon Lance. Mostly because I was a helluva lot younger back then, and thought that fighting Morty solely with a Sudowoodo was a good idea. (I still beat him, however. xD) 9. If you could have only one starter of the three you get at each game, and only one of all eighteen(plus Pikachu I guess. Nineteen then.), which would you have?
All I need is Typhlosion, so... Cyndaquil, I guess. NO OTHER POKEMON REQUIRED. 10. What's your favorite gen/game?
Gen-2, Silver. 11. What's the first Pokemon game you actually owned?Pokemon Silver. I think that'll explain my previous answer, too.

Nice. Also I guess it'd be fair if I answered my questions too. 1. What is your favorite Pokemon? Absol. Definitely Absol. Nothing can change my mind.
2. What is your least favorite Pokemon? Anything that is a bug, because I have a fear of bugs. Bug-types are a no no. I'm not particularly sure which of all things is my least favorite, but there is a nice group that is definitely a no no for me.
3. Which games do you own(gen 1-gen 6) Blue, Silver, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Pearl, SoulSilver, White, White2, X, and Y. I plan to get more once I save up.
4. What do you think of the new Fairy-type? At first I wasn't too sure about it but I eventually warmed up to it. It's actually humorous to think Tinker Bell can now kill any and all dragons.
5. What do you think can be improved/added to the Pokemon games? I'd like to see more detail about each Pokemon. The PokeDex isn't enough for me. I want to know more about them. Think of Pokemon as your pet dog or cat or whatever you have. You have a basic of it, but we need to know more. It's like when you get a pet. What is there diet? What maintenance do they need? Are they finicky or sloppy? Are they usually more stubborn or no? I want to know more about them and what they're like overall(but they still have their personalities of course. I know there's the Nature and Characteristics, but it just doesn't seem enough.)
6. What do you think the next Pokemon game should be(where, for example. Or what it's based off. I don't know, your answer.) Well I think they finished up the 'Japan saga' and they're working on Europe, so I guess somewhere like Italy or Spain or something. Though they might hop over to Canada.
7. What is your favorite and least favorite Pokemon type? My favorite is either Dark- or Fire-types. My least favorite is definitely Bug-types.
8. What was the hardest Gym Leader and Champion you fought in the entire game? Hardest Gym Leader? I guess Roxanne because I was new to Pokemon at the time and fought her with a level 20 Torchic. Hardest Champion I wouldn't be sure of. I guess Steven. I've only completed Kanto, Hoenn, and Kalos. I'm pretty sure the hardest was Steven.
9. If you could have only one starter of the three you get at each game, and only one of all eighteen(plus Pikachu I guess. Nineteen then.), which would you have? Well it'd definitely be a Fire-type, so either Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig, or Fennekin. I'll say it's a tough tie between Charmander, Torchic, or Fennekin. Torchic and Fennekin mostly. I lean towards canines more in animals, but Torchic was the first starter Pokemon I had. Probably Fennekin though of them all.
10. What's your favorite gen/game? Generation 3 for sure. I couldn't possibly decide though between Kanto or Hoenn.
11. What's the first Pokemon game you actually owned? It was either White, SoulSilver, or Pearl. I got those three for Christmas and I don't remember which I opened first. I got SoulSilver and Pearl in the same box because they were used, and White was brand new. So it was those three I guess. ------------------------ Well, that's finally finished. Anyways, what I'd like to know is what team did everyone finish with for each game that you owned? So for example, who did you defeat the Champion of each region for the first time with?
For me, Sapphire was Blaziken, Pikachu, Absol, Skarmory, Gloom/Vileplume(I can't remember which), and I think Kyogre. Though this is a different one than the one I own. LeafGreen was Lapras, Pidgeot, Charizard, Vaporeon, Raichu, and Victreebel. Kalos was Absol, Raichu, Lapras, Skarmory, Ninetales, and Vileplume.
Anyways, what about you guys?

Cripes, am I too late? NOPE. Don't care, filling in the survey anyhow.
1. Lucario. A flexible combatant with a well-balanced move pool. Sure, it may not be the best of the best, but he is a rather solid addition to anybody's roster, with or without Mega Stones. Not to mention, how many Pokémon that are canonically considered non-legendary get their own movie?
2. Unown. For an ancient Pokémon featured in a movie that turned a whole mansion upside-down with some wicked psychic powers, you'd expect it to play well in battle. But no. An abysmal Base Stat total among fully-evolved Pokémon, with a pathetic move pool of just Hidden Power.
3. All that I own is Pokémon Pearl. Doesn't matter, the Underground is always a great place to hoard items that can be potentially useful.
4. It's a rather odd-sounding concept, but it makes a bit of sense looking at the big picture. A good way to balance the ever so overpowered Dragon-Type.
5. With the introduction of Mega Evolutions, all I can think of is making more. Other than that, not much comes to mind.
6. Since they ran out of ideas to stem from their own homeland, and based the recent two on New York City and France, why not draw inspiration from Britain while they're at it?
7. Favourite has to be Poison-Type, simply for the strategic value. Least favourite, definitely Ground-Type, because majority of my team is weak against it.
8. Byron's high defenses really was a bother the first few times. Managed to get around it, though. As for the hardest Champion, I've only fought Cynthia, so there you have it.
9. Froakie, because Greninja. Enough said.
10. Despite being most comfortable with Gen IV's Pearl, I find Gen VI's "Y" Version to be a potential favourite of mine. As soon as I can get my hands on a copy...
11. Although it was technically my older brother's, I enjoyed playing through the original Pokémon Gold Version as a child, despite having nearly no idea what I was doing.

In Blue, I just pummeled everything with the same Blastoise and Alakazam. The rest of my team was irrelevant. I tried a different strategy in Red, where I'd keep everything I caught, and do I mean EVERYTHING, at the exact same level, with stupid Digimon-based nicknames. I had a Hitmonchan, Jolteon, Venusaur, Clefable, Raticate, Pidgeot, Kabutops, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Beedrill, Pikachu, Weezing, Arbok, Vileplume, Lapras, Snorlax, Gengar, and other stuff that I can't think up off the top of my head. The Hitmonchan, Jolteon, Pidgeot, Clefable, and two other things I can't remember probably hit up the Elite 4. Silver was where I actually started making a real team. This was the only gen I actually beat other people at Pokemon in. I took a few steps back in Sapphire since none of the Pokemon seemed that appealing, and actually didn't beat the Elite Four until really recently. Believe it or not, the one Pokemon I found myself constantly grinding because it just kept steamrolling things...was that Plusle. Not Kyogre, Plusle. The Hariyama was my HM slave, and they all had even dorkier anime names than the ones in my old copy of Silver. I really let myself go over in Hoenn. Between gens 3 and 4, my brother bought me FireRed and I didn't even start a file because I wasn't interested. I wasn't planning to get Pearl, but some weeb with a crush on me gave it to me for ten bucks. I liked it better than Sapphire at the time, and a bunch of my friends played Pokemon, so I set up a real team this time. Never got to actually battle anyone in person, though. It was about here that I started up FireRed with a joke team containing R-rated nicknames and no clear goal. I didn't actually beat that one due to a lack of interest. I also snagged Gold at a yard sale for two dollars but the battery turned out to be dead. Since Gen 2 was my favorite, I decided to go pick up SoulSillver. By that time I'd left my regular Silver at someone's house and they lost it. I went in with the intention of duplicating my original team, but ended up sticking with just Ampharos. I actually beat ONE guy with this team, a sixteen year old kid who popped in with a Lv100 Arceus with a Japanese name that neither of us could read. He didn't train any other Pokemon, and my toxic spikes killed off the Arceus eventually. After that, I retired to become a random NPC.

So, a bit of a question for you all. Recently me and a friend have been at each others' throats about training. My side of the argument is that EV Training is a fine art of calculations, and is much more efficient than wasting time on every single random encounter. Hers, however, is that bonding with your teammates through battle will make them strong in their own right, and shows more heart than treating them as tools that can be improved based on numbers. My question here is, what do you guys think is better? Just know that, no matter which side you pick, I'm not here to judge, just to end a debate. You're a moron if you side with her, by the way. Just saying. If you're able to see this message through the amounts of blue in the background, I'd be willing to take the previous statement back.

You're a moron if you side with her, by the way. Just saying. If you're able to see this message through the amounts of blue in the background, I'd be willing to take the previous statement The power of V5 System. Now with more gray than blue. But, I do agree that overall, EV training is way better for competitive level 100 battles. Without numbers and investment, a team can easily fall since they can have EVs put into stats that they don't need. Like Attack for Shuckle, Special Attack for Chansey, HP for Shedinja, etc. I do like her viewpoint, but when all's said in done in the maingame, numbers are all that remain. *10 hours ago*
Note that I had a tendency to replay games due to boredom, so some of the teams may end up being incredibly skewed, awesome, or downright weird. Red: Save data (holy crap!) But no Hall of Fame data. Silver: Dead Battery For Crystal 1: Tyranitar(59), Meganium(100), Lugia(70), Suicune(40), Articuno(66), Meganium(32)... How unnerving. For Crystal 2: I have no clue what the original Hall of Fame team was. I beat it 93 times and don't feel like scrolling through one pokemon at a time to the beginning. <_< For Gold 1: Dead Battery For Gold 2: Dead Battery For Ruby: Blastoise(90), Gardevoir(40), Delcatty(40), Tropius(32), Minun(44), Tropius(26)... Blastoise probably came from LG or FR. For Sapphire: Swampert (62), Medicham(39), Miniun(36), Kyogre(46), Altaria(44), Luvdisc(39). Odd. For Leafgreen: Articuno (52), Electrode(50), Venusaur(54), Mr. Mime(55), Blastoise(58), Onix(50). Also weird. For Emerald: Shedinja(100), Milotic(100), Seedot(53), Minun(35), Altaria(44), Grovyle(35)... That's awesomely skewed somehow. For Pearl: Seems I restarted. Right now, the character's chilling in Eterna Forest with Cheryl with a team that consists of Luxio, Staravia, Buizel, Prinplup, and Machop. For Diamond: Azelf(55), Steelix(50), Abomasnow(46), Uxie(55), Dialga(63), Kadabra(61). Kinda boring. For Platinum: This game's missing for now. It's likely in my old DS, which I misplaced. For White: This game's missing for now. For White 2: Lucario(60), Samurott(57), Zoroark(57), Cinccino(57), Charizard(57), Meganium(60) For X: Meowstic(67), Meowstic(68), Ampharos(69), Lucario(70), Butterfree(68), Delphox(66). The Meowstics are different genders. That took a lot of effort. Man.

I'll go ahead and answer the questions too.
1. Meowth, always and forever. 2. Pikachu, always and forever. 3. SoulSilver, White, White 2, and X. 4. An excellent type that heralds my defeat of my neighbors and their stupid cheaty Wondertombs and Wondereyes. 5. I feel the games are slowly reaching the point of there being nothing really new to add, so I don't care. 6. A proper sequel to the Stadium games featuring all 900+ Pokemon. Nothing like the Coliseum subseries or that sad little ditty Battle Revolution. I want Stadium 3. 7. Favorite type is Water, least favorite is Dragon. 8. FUCKING CYNTHIA. Hardest Gym Leader, though? Whitney, hands down. (Stupid Miltank buffs in GenIV) 9. Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Empoleon, Samurott, Greninja. I want all the Water Starters. Solo choice? Swampert, hands-down. 10. SoulSilver. 11. A copy of Ruby a friend gave me. First truely owned exposure for me to the series; I had rented the Stadium games before, and Snap, but Ruby was where I started.

If you're talking about X and Y and the battles you can have between friends, EV training would be more useful in that case since it doesn't bring Pokemon Amie or something in. If they did, I'd say the friendship between trainer and Pokemon is more important. Though, that's just my opinion.

Honestly, it depends on what situation you're talking about. EV training is better for competitive battles but with Pokemon Amie around now, friendship is good for in game battles. Buuuuut if you don't feel like using Super Training, the friendship factor can REALLY help out now. So it's friendship for me!
