Hey, everyone. I go by Porkman and I came across this site through a Facebook post. I heard about Tuttle's Legendary Travels and thought it was a great idea. I am amazed at all of the support it has received and thought i'd try to get involved. I've been a long time Megaman fan and though my experience with the Legends series itself isn't too deep..I've played enough of it to know I like it. I planned to buy Legends 3 when it was announced and was very excited to play through a Legends game for the first time. That is, or course until it was cancelled which was a HUGE disappointment to me along with many other decisions from Capcom..But I digress.
I'm a recently graduated Graphic Designer who's been looking to really improve on my art. I like to design characters and thought that the Tuttle's Legendary Travels contests were a great way to practice and maybe lend a hand. I'm also clearly a Gamer who's been playing games for a long time (since the early 90s). I'm very familiar with forum rules and am even a moderator at a Nintendo community website so I shouldn't be much of a troublemaker.
Erm, yeah so I'll do my best with being an active member even though I know little of the Legends series. I can always pick back up on Megaman Legends 2 to get my fill.

Excellent interview, Porkman. Just fill out these application forms, and we'll see if we're able to get you a position in the refractor mines. I believe shaft E-5 has some vacant spots. Lucky you. That one is famous for having the lowest mortality rate! Until then, welcome to the forums! There's a lovely art forum specially made for the likes of you. I'm looking forward to seeing any future work of yours.

Hey, cool name! I grill a lot of pork products myself. And hey, what do you know, I'm going to be grilling you in the non-cannibalistic sense of the word as per the standard MMLS initiation practice! Not directly, mind you. We have a moderately lengthy series of registration forms we tend to require newbies to fill out. Standard protocol, you see. Very official. Very bureaucratic.
...Oh. Wait. You're familiar with forum rules? I think I actually like you enough to waive the forms again. We've got two rules that do trip up a lot of people, so be sure and brush up, but otherwise it's pretty standard. We do have an art section where you can post art of anything you'd like as long as it's not overly graphic. If you want critique, head there and post your stuff. And we do weekly iScribble sessions on the weekends, too, over on iscribble.net. It involves a lot of chatting and drawing. Mostly chatting, since there aren't too many artists around these days.
Agreed on Capcom. I hope they go under and have to sell their IPs off to companies who'll actually try to make them lucrative in the short term AND the long term instead of just quick cash grabs.

Welcome to the fold. What kind of graphic design do you do?
As a graphics man myself I can't help but find myself on the lookout for skilled acquaintances for whatever situations may arise that I'm not enough for the task.
I will say it may be difficult to be active on a MML forum without much knowledge of MML... but, activity is activity. I'll be interested to see what you bring to the TLT circuit.

I'm mostly on the illustration side. I can work with video, photo, and page spreads but I'm aiming to be an illustrator/animator (though for animation I have quite a bit more to learn). I've never tampered with 3D modeling or anything game related but I'm sure I could pick up on it after a while. Also thanks Kyle and Dashe for the welcome. I'll definitely be looking at the art forum.

Welcome friend, good to see more legends fans joining the forums, and more from the 100,000 strong. I hope to see the things you make for tlt since your a graphics designer. It's ok if you don't know much of the series either, spend enough time around here and you will become familiar in no time
EDIT: Kyle - NO STEAK?

Howdy there, Porkman. Nice choice of name, food, and community. I assume you would've registered earlier, but something tells me that you're half pork and half man, and that's still grounds for being thrown onto a grill during our little BBQ festival. At least until we run out of charcoal. Then everyone's screwed. Enjoy your stay!

BBQ season is over, I'm afraid. Our charcoal supply has run dry, and I am not going into the goddamn coal mine! For now, I'm back to my odd habit of using floral avatars. It's just as well I brought that up, actually. Porkman? Stay away from the MMLS coal mine! The refractor mine is... debatably safe, but the coal mine is just unholy. Many good men have perished in there.

Dashe, does the 5+ word rule include quotes as words?

Dashe, does the 5+ word rule include quotes as words? I was really iffy about posting that one. I as actually about to edit in some more but you beat me to it. Changing it now would look bad so...that one is my bad. Oh and thanks for the welcome. As for my username-i've been using it for pretty much every video game or art related site I join.

Nope, quotes actually aren't counted. A little trip-up in an intro thread is nothing to go bananas over though, so don't sweat it. Just don't forget to sprinkle a little creativity into your postage, and you shouldn't have to worry about going under 5 words ever again.

That's what I figured. I made the same mistake on my intro thread as well, actually.
