There used to be a post on gamefaqs or universe comparing the two islands. I can't find the topics anymore, but I found it interesting. A few guys even said Kattelox was inspired by Koholint. They both do have a somewhat similar shape when viewing it from North to South, excluding the Windfish egg. Just thought it would be something interesting to discuss again, what do you guys think?

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I honestly think comparing both islands is pushing it. Besides, Kattelox's cities are far more advanced than Koholint's. And I don't remember anything similar to Kattlelox's abandoned city in Koholint. Maybe that castle, but technically it IS being inhabited by the revolting subjects who are now your enemies. (Ironically making you an accomplice to the villain of another game.)

Oh yeah I thought it sounded crazy too, also since Koholint was only accessible through the Wind Fish, but there were guys who made some good points before, and thought reviving it could bring them back up. I still wasn't able to find the topic through searching

Obviously Koholint and Kattelox have nothing to do with each other, and it's far too easy to point this out; after all, Koholint doesn't even properly exist in the Zelda universe, being a figment of imagination. Still, there's a few curious similarities: - The most obvious is the shape and placement of water. You have 2 major bays, as well as a lake, which are positioned similarly between the two.
- The mountains are problematic, but in a lot of artwork (and in the distance model of the island at the end of the game) the town is significantly higher than the forests around it. (We could also mention the cliffs and mountains that appear during Legends' intro, but they don't fit with any other canon depiction of the islands)
- Both islands are where the protagonist becomes shipwrecked. In Awakening, it is more literal, whereas in Legends it's a airship. This shipwrecking seems to occur in roughly the same place, too, with respect to the bodies of water (to the south-west; clockwise from the larger, southern cavity).
- fAB , the man who created MMLS (as well as all of us), also created a little-known web shrine related to Koholint. Unfortunately, 'Dreams of Koholint' has been removed, with the only proof that it once existed being the non-standard error the server returns.
It's a nice coincidence to muse about, and could prove to be the foundation for a crossover fanfic if someone so desired.

Yes it is, if I was any good at writing one of my fanfic's might have something like this in it. You brought up some good similarities too, but yeah Koholint still only exists as a dream. Another thing is the ruins/dungeon in the middle of the lake.
