Ambulances and Police cars. For when you need that extra boost of speed.
Not only does the evacuation not make sense by car because there's no paths between Areas, but.. where would they even go. It's an ISLAND! GEEEEeZ!¡ @_@
I've got it. The cars are so thieves can make fake escapes!

Ambulances and Police cars. For when you need that extra boost of speed. Sure, Megaman can pass them just by running.

Wrong people! Wrong! There is a reson that the entrance walls look like giant garage doors! It's because they are! They open up every time a car wants to come through and then they close. Cause I'm cool like that

I got it! There are no people in those cars! They are actually road cleaners robots that are made to look like cars! Man I'm good!

Gonna offer a little insight into the purpose and origin of those walls now, since I noticed this the other day.. Lines terminated by each button press, screens provided for each line. Read lines 16-21: It's 'The History of Kattelox Island, Vol. 2'... | 1 | "Let's see-- | 2 | Research conducted by the current mayor of the island, | 3 | Professor Amelia shows that there are remnants of several | 4 | different civilizations on Kattelox. | 5 | In other words, it appears the previous inhabitants of this | 6 | island have built a civilzation many times, only to have | 7 | it destroyed each time... This is believed to be the | 8 | origin of the myth of the legendary | 9 | disaster that haunts the island. | 10 | While there is obviously no scientific proof | 11 | that Kattelox is destined for disaster, many | 12 | people who believe in the legend choose to leave the island, | 13 | and in fact the decresasing population has | 14 | become one of the island's major concerns in recent years. | 15 | The walls and gates that divide the city into | 16 | various areas are also remnants of ancient ruins, | 17 | which continue to function even now. | 18 | These walls, along with the ruins known as the Sub- | 19 | and Main Gates, are a monument to the technological | 20 | achievements of our ancestors' society." | 21 |
No idea whatsoever how people get around between them.. some monument to technological achievement, eh? Keeps the cars from getting around. At least we can sort of tell that it wasn't the design of any individual on the island. And that Capcom actually had some purpose in mind with the walls. p.s. don't try to link hack more screens. XD This is the only batch I have up so far. p.p.s. in case anyone decides to get technical, yes I know there's no closing quote in the last screenshot. Thank you.

They still failed big time with the car theory, i still think subterranean passageways are if so the most coherent answer to it, that or the air transfer system.

Yeah, except beneath the streets are ruins too(Manhole, anyone? ..and all the Subcities).
XD They probably pull a Feldynaught, and just veritcal hop over the wall.

I always thought the big gray box around the door opened up to let cars through.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. I'm not really sure where it would all go, though. Would it slide into the ground? Split sideways? Open like a giant overhead door? I dunno. XD

For some reason, I imagined it swinging up, like a car's trunk door. Though that'd actually be kind of dangerous... Maybe it slides to the side. After all, there's underground ruins underneath the gate, so that's the only logical place for it to go.

But the walls themselves are actually remnants of the ruins, too.

Then maybe the actually do slide under. I'd be cool if it slid one part into the left wall, one into the right, and one underneath, like a three-part door.

It seems like the sub-cities would, if they were still inhabited and didn't have those reaverbots running around, be way easier to drive around than any of the streets of Kattelox...if somebody painted yellow lines onto them, put bus stops every block or so, and stuck a stop sign at every corner.
