But damn, heavy metal actually worked wonders for this game, not to mention how the Boss themes made a transition from an instrumental to their Image Song halfway through their fights. Correct me if I'm wrong, but during a paticular boss fight, don't the vocals only kick in once Raiden picks his sword back up? It was like that for me, and man, I thought it was awesome.

It may have, but the transition was so natural I didn't really notice which of the fights had that happen (it was clearer the second playthrough though).

That's the whole "dynamic soundtrack" thing I was talking about. Songs change depending on what's going on. If any of you have played Super Mario Galaxy, it's like when you have Bowser reeling from an attack and the chorus starts up. That's the best example I can give.
On another note, Rising's soundtrack is pretty awesome.

It starts with the vocals, switches to instrumental halfway, and goes back to vocals near the end. Good stuff.

Following the trend of Silent Hill 2, domestic animals are the true final boss of Konami games.

...There isn't a well-hidden, blooper reel extra ending with the cat meowing to Rising's main theme, right? 'Cause I wouldn't put it past anything with a Konami stamp on it.

I had never played the Metal Gear series before, but the screenshots for this game looks gorgeous.
HF: That looks awesome.

Repost(?) of DLC VR Missions free limited time offer, and talking sword antics.
Finished a second round on Hard Mode this weekend. Going through it again to get more main weapons and fund the Fox Blade+.

And for the hell of it, one of the funnier scenes in the game demands that I make this edit:

Oh? A thread about Rising? A game with a final boss that made me want to pull my own hair out because of how much of a cheap sod it is?
Count me in.

I hate the Metal Gear series... ...I'm willing to give them another try, because this game is frigging awesome. Yeah... I wouldn't exactly say this game fits into the Metal Gear series. It's more of a spin-off if anything.
