INTRODUCTION
Time for TLT's sixth community Event! This is another "Mini" Event, which means of course that the stakes aren't as high and there are more winners! The focus of this Event is the Malt Island Museum, which is currently empty. We want your ideas on what sort of exhibits might be found there. Let's make this a really cool place to visit! The Kattelox museum had a wide variety of items on display, from paintings by the townspeople to a rooster statue... What sort of things should the Malt Island Museum have for show? It will be interesting to see what you all can come up with! These are the various types of spaces we're looking to fill: Major Exhibits: Large, prominently displayed pieces, something along the lines of a dinosaur skeleton or a big statue. Standard Exhibits: Moderately sized pieces such as a large vase or an antique machine of some kind. Display Case Items: Small and/or delicate pieces showcased under glass, such as jewelry or a sword. Paintings: Pictures of varying sizes and styles to adorn the walls of the museum. Tapestries: Extra large and intricate pictures that will hang in prominent places. & Collectible Artifact: ? ? ? Tuttle will of course be able to collect and donate specific artifacts he finds throughout his travels. We have already decided what these items will be (some familiar, some new), except we've left one slot open. So in addition to coming up with regular museum decorations, you also get a chance to design an artifact that Tuttle will find in the ruins. It isn't worth anything special as far as the Event is concerned, though would give minor bragging rights. GUIDELINES
* Draw or describe a museum piece that feels appropriate for the Legends world. * Give a description of what the object is, it's background--what makes it worthy of being in the museum? * Keep in mind that there is limited space for the more prominent exhibits--smaller items may be easier to win at. * You may submit up to ten entries, regardless of type. This Event will be open to submissions from February 2nd through February 25th, 2013.All entries should be posted here in this thread. We want them all in one place so entries sent to us by email, PM, or in comments directly on the TLT site will not be considered. Guest posting is enabled for the duration of this Event.WINNERS
* We have no specific number of winners in mind for this Event. It's totally subjective this time, according to how many entries we like and how much museum space we have to fit them in. * The winners will get their names in the credits and their exhibits will appear in the game. As for actual "prizes," see here. * Winning entries may be subject to revision before appearing in-game. * Designs will be judged by the project leaders, fAB & Blyka, based on a number of criteria. Give it your all and have fun!

Major thanks to HF for the translation!

This event sounds AWESOME and the museum architecture looks really neat so far. You do plan on getting the interior textured to look more museum-y, right? Or is everything just supposed to be that shade of blue?

Hmm. I've already got an idea of what to submit, but I just need to get one detail clarified. Can the exhibit also be related to previous MegaMan games? Seeing as all of 'em are linked in the same timeline. My submission isn't a major piece of technology, or anything, so don't worry about that.

Oracle of Captialiom – Major Exhibit Description:
This giant spectacle of artifact was found by a Class D Digger, Techno. Requiring a total of eleven diggers to return to the surface. This item is believed to be able to allow a group of travelers to travel between worlds vast and unknown. Researcher Note: As of currently we have yet to be able to actual put any uses to the machine. We believe that the ancient civilization believed this to be magical due to its ability to turn. This seems to store energy from wind and light. A simple artifact indeed.
Appearance: The Object is a massive golden spherical object with two cylinders protruding from the sides. From those cylinders, two rods hold up a multiple what appears to be golden spheres (which may resemble planets). This thing moves ever so slowly and may stop from time to time.
Rejuvenator – Standard Exhibit
Description:
Retrieved by Digger (Insert any name here), this object strangely contains what resembles a humanoid. We are unable to pierce the glass as it very sturdy material but it would appear as if the person inside is kept in a dream-like state due to the machine. More tests to come soon.
Appearance: Resembling the capsules from Mega Man Legends 2, which held the person inside in a dormant sleep state? The Rejuvenator seems to be modeled the same way only with cracks on the glass. And a glowing light which turns on and off.
Razume Staff – Display Case
Description: Retrieved by Digger (insert name here), this object seems to be powered by crystals as there’s a place to place crystals inside. The ancient markings on the piece say staff however; the object seems to be shaped more like a gun than a staff. This gun however is far too big to wield or be lifted. We believe this was used only for ceremonial purposes.
Appearance: A large long gun resembling something of a revolver but being long like a staff. It contains markings on the side of the gun.
Hero’s Unite: Painting
Description: Given to us by the Mayor off (Insert Mega Man Legends city here), as there museum is undergoing massive repair. This picture was taken off two Diggers who quickly rushed and saved a girl from a apartment fire. A wandering vagabond, Jin Katsaragi (picture left) and high ranking digger, Mega Man (right) are shown cheering on their daring rescue. When asked for comment they both did a hand motion, shook hands and went on their way.
Appearance: Self drawn drawing of myself with Mega Man in front of a house stopped from a fire.
Dust to Ashes: Tapestries
Description: retrieved by Digger (insert name here), This tapestry is said to have keys to are past and future. However, the ending is torn. We can assume this tapestry was far longer than this. And the rest may have been lost in war of the ancient civilizations.
Appearance: The tapestry contains what resembles Mega Man from 8bit era then a silhouette of a regular man running and shooting, then a lock on symbol.
Dirty carvings: collectables.
Description: These large granite rocks contain carvings which seem to resemble female anatomy. These pictures are crudely drawn and may perhaps be drawn by child of a ancient civilization. A note was attached to one of the items. The note discarded then replaced in are museum as some would argue its relevance.
Note: Price to whoever collects all these rocks for me!!! Please I want to go home! ~ Jin Katsaragi.
Appearance: Cube shaped rocks with crude cravings drawn. Not very detailed or well crafted. The rocks are antiques and show various signs of wear.
If I win or have any questions of items please email to mmcquree1 [at] Verizon [ dot ] com.

Soda MachineThis is a soda machine that delivers a new famous drink called Uncle Diggs. This machine does nothing but dispense Root Beer. All the young people love it, and some even come into the museum just for the Root Beer. Sculpture of 'owner'?My idea is that there is a large sculpture of the curator of the museum holding some sort of artifact. (leaving that open i guess). Cop Sculp....wait....One of the officers in the area, he guards this museum but never is seen moving or talking, but he does relocate...just no one knows when he does it. At first glance people think he is a sculpture as he stands there solemnly staring out into the distance. Sakugarne
Some sort of ancient drilling, jackhammer, pogostick machine who's date is so old it cant really be traced. this is one of the first items found that inspired the curator to start a museum. *might even be able to be remodeled and restored for a hero of the musuem as some sort of secondary weapon =p* megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Sakugarne Incase you didnt know the reference! lol Oh 'Quint' Island Neptune
A large metal slab that was covered in stone and began petrifying over time revealing some sort of spear called 'neptune'. Tales once said there was a mystical tower on the little island off of Dashe Island where a monster with such a spear was able to control the weather and seas to bring calamity and reconstruct the land to its whim.

Old Robot(D-1000) Remains: Standard Exhibit
Description: Parts of a very ancient machine seemingly used for construction found buried in a deep rock strata, practically fossilized in a far, remote, deserted place were there was evidently a modern, functioning, technological civilization many thousands of years ago. It was found by a digger named (insert any name) while he was going for a walk taking a break with an archaeology research team until he saw a strange looking hunk of metal sticking out of a strata on the side of a low cliff. He informed his teammates about it and it was then excavated.
Appearance: The mechanical crab-claw-like arm, head, and levitating spherical core of the D-1000 intro-boss from Megaman X6. Resting on a low, wooden platform guarded by a velvet guard rope. The Crab-claw-like arm resting at the lowest part, with the head perched on a slightly higher platform next to the arm. And with the spherical core just above the arm and the head, hanging from a long cord attached to the ceiling. The arm, head, and spherical core rusted and partly fossilized in appearance due to age.
Question: Is it okay with you If I draw a picture of it, but put it on my DeviantArt account and provide a link to it on this thread?

1. The first static repulsion hover vehicle ever to carry a human being safely into the air. A working scale replica of the original machine makes it's way around the museum. A figure of a "Seamus T. MacAuger," (pronounced shay-mus) the man who invented the machine, is shown riding under it on the saddle. It had only a throttle and steering wheel for control and bobbed up and down during flight. I'm pitching the concept more than the vehicle design 2. A hands-on exhibit showing how refractors work. Spin the crank to spin the refractor. If you spin it hard enough, an electrical arc will form between two electrodes. 3. Armor of a great pirate from long ago. It is highly extravagant, but lacks many features of modern armor such as integrated weaponry. 4. The four sections of the museums each have large mosaics on the floor depicting an ancient warrior wearing purple. Each of the mosaics show him confronting a different enemy. I'm thinking a giant with glowing eyes, a fleet of vessels with an admiral shown standing on the flagship, a heavily armed Amazonian, and a horde of small winged demons would be good metaphors for the Sturm Force. 5. An old control console from deep with a ruin. The ancient engravings that cover it are as beautiful as they are mysterious. Though the ancient language is common to every ruin, there is no way to translate it, and therefore no one can read it (except *ahem* you know...). 6. Collectible reaverbot toys. These toys once belonged to the children of the makers of the ruins, and will move around in a circle or some simple pattern when you put them down. Once collected and donated, they are displayed moving around behind glass. 7. The museum gift shop is a place where the player can spend his or her zenny on frivolous things. If purchased they can be used at any time. Items could include a propeller on a stick that Tuttle can launch, a replica fossil that can take the place of the cane, a treasure map of the island that could lead to a hidden area, and a Malt Museum pin that shows on Tuttles coat. Hmm, depending on how you look at it, #7 can represent anywhere from one to five entries. I didn't intend for the examples to be actual entries, but I won't push my luck with any more...

Dashe - Yes, the museum is still in need of a visit from an interior decorator. Kyle - I don't see why not, as long as it seems like it fits. If it requires a knowledge of that relation to make it interesting though, that could hurt its chances. @mrmegamattx - A picture link to your DA page would be just fine. @contributors - Thanks so far and keep 'em coming!

Sorry Zaiy, I hope you don't think I'm ripping you off! I think there should be a homage to Trigger: It look like it would be a grand site, it's roped off with those red velvet ropes, and a gold sign hangs by the start of the line up to a good view, but inside the exhibit is a broken vending machine emitting a black smoke. A vending machine taken fro m Kattleox Island that was kicked in by Mega Man. It would be great to have Easter-Eggs like that in the game, funny and recognizable, and the sign could say something of it being a monument fora great hero, trapped in a far away land or place. It could also just say that it is a famous work of art from a local hero or something of the sort! I can Immagine Tuttle thinking something along the lines of, "who would do such a thing!?"

You can't have a museum without an Iron Maiden creepily stashed away in that corner of the museum. So, why not a sukaritt version? Madame Skirt perhaps? I’d imagine it’d be used during antiquity to specifically punish thieves to mirror the greedy nature of sukaritt themselves. The appearance of the sukaritt is off model given the time period that something like this would have been in use, there weren't a lot of explosive weapons available to actually dispatch a real sukaritt and use the remains as a proper reference. ...and I know this is kind of a pointless concept to throw in and there'd be no real way to implement something like this haha, but I'm really into torture devices, and I couldn't help but want to throw in a nod to the brazen bull with a system of pipes that would convert the victims screams into a sound similar to a sukaritt's cry.
Okay, what about a painting done by some ancient carbon witnessing the faraway destruction of another island? I'm not too good at landscape-y things, but yeah something like this. I figure it'd be called something like "Distant Calamity".

Exoskeleton of Winged Reaverbot - Major/Standard Exhibit (I would suggest this hangs from a ceiling in the museum, since its the exoskeleton of a large winged reaverbot). Found deep in the forest, this artifact was excavated beneath the forest floor, covered in 1000's of years off soil and devay from being in the ground. The exoskeleton was believed to be a layer of armor covering large, flying reaverbots. The exoskeleton reveals that these ancient reaverbots had a wingspan of 60 feet, spiked shoulders, and its wings were capable of creating slicing waves, due to an energy generator stored in the front half of each wing. The tail was capable of creating sonic waves with intense speed, and the mouth could also produce roaring sonic waves.. It is believed that these were predecessors to the perfected and current versions of these reaverbots spotted attacking the Sulphur-Bottom. Note - It is possible for one to determine that these were predecessors to the Servitor Units on Elysium by reading about it somewhere in the game, for example, a book in the library that has ancient stories of Elysium. The appearance of this artifact is a large, winged reaverbot shell. It is hollow on the inside due to it being a layer of armor on the reaverbot. It is possible to look like a more ancient form of the Servitor units (Geetz and Gatz) The color is a faded grey, with signs of rust and aging. The wingspan is 60 feet (or whatever is appropriate for the game). The wings have broken energy generators inside of them, and the shoulders have spikes sticking out of them. Its total body length is also 65 feet (so basically its proportional, same length plus the head), and it is a tail that is capable of swinging so fast, it generates a sonic wave. It only has one eye socket. Also capable of roaring, so sound wave producers in the mouth (non-functional of course.) If you like the idea, want more clarification, or suggest edits if it is chosen, please contact me at headbangerno5@comcast.net , and thank you very much

I'll go with the obvious choice: Warjigairon skeleton! (Major Exhibit)
Since the warjigairon is extremely big it's impossible that it fits standind inside the museum, so it could be on his knees or in pieces, to add a bit of suspense and realism, the museum could possess only its head, and a plate reading something like: "Head of a giant reaverbot found buried on Chizz island, the remaining skeleton is missing"

| Luminescent Avian Sculpture by local artist Felicity Lumms (Standard Exhibit)
This was originally a birdbath Lumms built for her daughter as a wedding gift. The recipient found it incredibly gaudy. Lumms had no grasp on color, form, or bird anatomy. It was also completely non-functional, seeing as filling it with water and plugging it in nearly always resulted in a major electric shock, and it was so deep that any bird that might have tried to bathe in it was likely to drown. Lumms's daughter and son in law's first home also didn't really have a lawn to put it in to start with.
Since they didn't want to hurt their mother's feelings, they used it as a living room centerpiece for a while until a visiting acquaintance from Tronne decided to visit and mistook it for fine art. This gave them the idea to write up a pretentious-sounding artist's statement and donate it to the Malt Museum. Somehow or another, it was accepted, and wealthy visitors from Tronne constantly drop by to mistake it for high art. They sometimes get into heated debates over its meaning. | | Dashewood Sample (Display Case or Collectable Artifact)
This is a chunk of the tree enveloping the Dashe Island ruins. While it feels and looks like wood on one side, the other side is covered with all sorts of weird bioluminescent designs similar to those found in a lot of ruins worldwide. Its chemical makeup is an anomaly. Someone found this in a hole in the wall inside the Dashe Ruins and donated it to the museum. | | Ancient Island Map (Tapestry)
This enormous tapestry illustrates what the Quint Islands might have looked like as a single cohesive landmass. Going along with the current naming conventions, I'll call this pangean megaisland "Pharaohnaut" for the purpose of this summary.
Legend has it that Pharaohnaut Island was a generally peaceful, united civilization often assumed to be a utopia by most researchers who claim extensive knowledge in local history. However, the few archaeologists who've managed to excavate substantial artifacts from this age believe that the civilization on Pharaohnaut was somewhat more primitive than most of the islands' contemporary cultures. This civilization came to an abrupt end when one day, a cataclysmic disaster struck, wiping out most (if not all) of the population and culture. The main landmass was flooded and the Quint Islands were never truly united again, each developing their own cultures and ideals. Nobody knows exactly what happened or how the formation of the Quint Islands actually came to pass, but many have their theories. | | Prototype Buster Gun (Display Case)
This ancient weapon belonged to a legendary pirate who lost his arm in a fierce skirmish. After that battle, he had this arm-mounted cannon constructed for him. It was incredibly efficient and caught on with both pirates and diggers alike. One could potentially attribute the extreme body modifications among Terra's digging populous to this one original weapon, which served as a prototype for today's arm-mounted weapons and tools. | | Dapper Portrait (Painting)
This oil painting depicts a Tronne Island aristocrat from many decades ago, back when solid-colored trenchcoats, top hats, and walking sticks were all the rage. When Tuttle examines the painting, he makes a remark about how tacky fashion used to be in the olden days. | | Poh Lamps (Major Exhibit)
The snowy expanses on Buscan Island used to have these monolithic stone lamps scattered around to mark the safest routes to outposts and help keep travelers from getting lost during major blizzards. They were built to stay lit despite high winds and extreme temperatures and require very little maintenance. Then somebody had the bright idea to collect them and arrange them into an imposing display at the museum. As a result Buscan's population left, leaving the mines as the only truly active portion of the island. | | Mysterious Chest (Standard exhibit)
An ornate, locked chest found buried underground, encrusted with rubies and intricate patterns. It doesn't look much like the chests in the ruins, and nobody on the Quint Islands can break into it. The locksmith who crafted that thing was definitely a professional. Its origin and contents remain a mystery to this day. There just has to be a key to it floating around somewhere... |
(Not sure if this counts for anything, but I like Joshmnky's gift shop. I was thinking about pitching one here myself but declined to do so on account of potential space issues within the building itself. It seemed like a cool idea. Maybe a vendor by the front door. I dunno.)
