Okay ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the review! Every month I will be reviewing 2 songs from each Legends game (MML, MML2, and MoTB) and then asking you for your opinions and ratings. Considering that some tracks in the games are short and some are variants of songs with slight changes I may review more than 2 songs from a game some months. Okay, let's do it! Megaman Legends- Feeling of Love Alright! Our first song, aside from sounding slightly like Engrish, is a Legends classic. You'll recognize it as playing when Megaman rescues Circus clown notorious air pirate Tron Bonne from Paprika the cute little dog that wanders around town (you know it makes this song a little strange thinking that in Japan you kick him!). It conveys quite nicely the sense of confusion and happiness of 'that funny feeling' swirling around in Tron's head. According to a statement I found on the MML1 OST page of Legends Stations a producer of MML1, Kono Sadanori, said that he wanted this song to play during the Fokkerwolf battle with Tron. I think that would have been some pretty sweet symmetry. The song is sunny, sad, and filled with wonder at the same time and has a very meaningful sound to it. I think it's the perfect song for that scene and it's the perfect song to represent Megaman and Tron's relationship. I could honestly listen to 'Feeling of Love' all day. Let's start this show off with a great rating! 4/5!- Karumuna Bash This song, as it's name suggests, is the theme song of Karumuna Bash, the giant, firebreathing, player-scaring, wolf-dog reaver that haunts the Clozer Woods ruins. The song plays when you get off the elevator after Roll waxes philosophical about if what they are doing to reaverbots is right (a favorite dialog piece of mine). As soon as you step into the large room at the bottom of the shaft 3 Bashs attack you in a horrifying, and exhilarating boss fight. When asked about the moments in Megaman Legends that are most frightening, the fan favorite is this moment and that reaverbot, and the song certainly helps. It's building tension, sense urgency, and hint of mystery make that scene all the better, and it comes at a time in the game when the stakes are high and we are digging deeper and deeper into Kattelox's ruins and secrets. Karumuna Bash is dark, deeply atmospheric, and a rocking jam that meshes well with the mood of the scene, but I wouldn't want to listen to it by it's self, it gets a bit tiresome without the dramatic boss fight. A good rating for a good song! 3/5!Megaman Legends 2The Flutter on Fire! For the first of the Megaman Legends 2 songs, The Flutter on Fire! It's a fast-paced version of that classic Flutter theme that we know and love. It plays in one of the first scenes of the game when Data tried to make a pizza and apparently burnt it, BAD! We hear this tune as race through the ship putting out fires, hoping to save the Flutter and our burning little monkey overlord. While it puts a quick, urgent twist on on the original it doesn't take it's self too seriously and fits in great with the comical scene where Data continually lights himself on fire and runs into you! I think it's a great song and it would fit well with alot of fighting scenes in the game. The Flutter might be ruined and you'll have to pay for it the rest of the game but at least you got to here a cool song! 3/5!- Calinca Yosyonke Out of the fire and into the snow! Up next is... uh Calinca Yosyonke. Thus is the first of the boring name patterns of Megaman Legends 2. I'm not sure if these songs were unnamed and the Station made the names for them or if Capcom named them so blandly but each islandss songs have the island's name and then where it plays as it's title. :19: This song plays as soon as you touch down in Yosyonke and characterizes the town pretty well. Yosyonke, much like this song, is world's apart from the warm, jaunty feel of Kattelox. It's a cold, solemn place from where many diggers have ventured off to Forbidden Island and never come back. The townspeople are friendly enough but obviously not very happy. The song is sleepy, snowy, and somewhat sad(Alliteration! ). It fits the bill of this tragic town full of depressed people! It's one of the better town themes and accomplishes the most important goal in making such a song, not getting on your nerves while you walk around town! That being said it's so boring that it makes elevator music sound exciting. 2/5!The Misadventures of Tron BonneBefore we get into some MoTB music, let me give you a disclaimer: I've not yet played the game myself (some day... ) so I don't know much about the context of the songs and they don't hold as much meaning to me. So you board members who have played the game's opinions are especially important to mean and I encourage you to tell us what you think. In fact if you've played the game and would like to review these songs along side me send me a PM. That sounds like alot of fun! That being said, I hope you guys who havn't played the game enjoy this portion of the review, because I don't think too many of you have really listen through MoTB's soundtrack. Keep in mind that MoTB had a different music director and is quite a bit different than the Legends soundtracks. - Glyde's Theme First up is Glyde's Theme! As you know Misadventures is the first game our effeminate air pirate Glyde appears. He fights as a part of loan shark Lex Loath's Family and generally griefs the Bonnes into raising cash for them. The theme is the most Legends-like song on the MoTB soundtrack and not surprisingly is remixed for Glyde's Theme in MML2. This version has a faster drum beat and less style and flare then the MML2 version and has some annoying, repetitive drum parts. That being said it's still a good song and it has a nice, deep guitar strum scattered about the track and you gotta give it credit for be the originator of the awesome chorus of the song. (*coughcough bestpartaboutGlydecoughcough*) 3/5!Shala-Kun BossI have no context for this boss battle but I think it's the perfect example of how different and weird MoTB music is compared to Legends. Not that that's a bad thing though. This song, strange as it is, is fun, crazy, and has an abundance of that sense of urgency that a good boss fight needs. The interlude between the pulse pounding music supplies an almost thoughtful sound that makes me think that this is a boss that tests your wits to an extent! Although I gotta say if you had to listen to this on loop it would probably drive you nuts, and seeing how short it is it probably does loop! I'm going to watch a walkthrough of the game when I have time so I may come back and amend this song's review in the future. But for now... 3/5!That's all for this month! Thanks for reading guys. Any Questions, feedback, opinions, and ratings are much appreciated! Especially from MoTB fans! And if you would like to do a guest review of MoTB music hit me up! See ya this time next month. (Well I'll be around but you know what I mean.)

Welcome to the second edition of the already extremely popular Rock and Roll Rhythm Review! Here are 6 more track reviews from each of the 3 Legends series games! Megaman Legends 1- Escape From The Tower This song is one of the very first Legends songs we ever lay our ears on. It plays in the tutorial sea-tower-ruin just as soon as we gain control of Megaman. It's an area we remember for a lot of things; High tension, infuriating repeating text boxes, dorky Roll quotes (Do you see a door? It should be right in front of you ), scary bump ins with Cannam and Hanmuru Doll, and this pounding beat that mostly likely has permanently pounded it's way into your grey matter. It's eerie, exciting, sounds like heart beats, and can make your first encounters with your mysterious enemies genuinely scary. Unfortunately if it's your first time and you end up wandering around in this area for too long and you've already killed all the reavers you will find this tune gets more repetitive by the minute. It could definitely use more variety in it's beat to keep things interesting. As a stand alone song it's not much to listen to, it's basicly the same 10 seconds of music on repeat, seemingly increasing in intensity each time. It certainly works in it's context though and for that I'm giving it a 3/5!-Reform
A short, touching song that plays after the Theodore Bruno fight where you defeat the Bonnes for the last time in the game. The cutscene it plays in shows a very human and seemingly humble Teisel Bonne admitting defeat and with a sense of solemn pride says goodbye. Of course we know Teisel would never give up and he's anything but 'Reformed'. As soon as the song is over he's hatched a plan to steal the treasure right out of that blue boy's hands. "You didn't think I was going to just walk away, did you?"Still, even though it always takes me several tries and is incredibly irritating (especially the first time) to beat Bruno I can't help but feel sorry for winning, even though I know what the crazy pirate is up to. I think this song is the culprit! It's soft, sad, and every time I hear it it gets to me. To me it has a greater emotional impact then 'Sad Teisel Bonne' which I'm sure I'll review down the line. For this 1 minute song I give the rating of 5/5. It's so good it makes me rethink my life . Megaman Legends 2-Nino Battle theme
This theme plays throughout Glyde's invasion of Nino Island. It's heroic and upbeat but it also conveys urgency and the sense that somethings on the line here. It goes quite well with shooting down ships, frying chicken, putting out turret fires with our good friend Johnny, and posing dramatically while those awesome yellow cannons kick ass! It's just a great swashbuckling song that's perfect for Nino Island and it's blue sky battles. If I ever get around to burning a Legend's CD for my truck this one's going to be on it! The only downside is that if you are a beginner that gets lost in the city, or if you're just exploring while the invasion is going on, it just starts to sound underwhelming if you're checking object descriptions instead of being in the action. I'll give this well rounded song a 4/5! Easily one of the better MML2 tracks! - Saul Kada Area Cleared
From one of the best to one of the worst! This 40 second loop plays endlessly after you have destroyed all the Bonne Machines in an area. If you get lost in any cleared area this song is going to bug the crap out of you. It's basically the base loop of the Saul Kada City Under Siege track and is the laziest excuse for a atmospheric song you will ever find. I assume they made this song because 1. They didn't want to come up with a new track so they ripped part of another, 2. they wanted you to hurry up and get to the next battle ASAP because this song is so intolerable it makes you run away from it as fast as you can. Drums, drums, drums, cymbal, drums drums drums cymbal drumsdrumsdrumscymbol! ARRRRGH! 0/5! The Misadventures of Tron BonneNote, due to my own laziness I've yet to watch a walkthrough of MOTB so I still have no idea what I'm talking about. - Torture Room
Now I did do my research on this song! It's the menu song to a minigame where you have a fixed time limit to stab, smash, and burn your Servbots out of their incompetence! If you succeed they seriously look traumatized. It's a much heavier song then you would expect coming from a Legends game but it certainly sounds sadistic and matches the mini-game quite well! Not only does it fit well with that game it also fits well with fAB's Skate or Cry on Sky Pirate Arcade. That game can really feel like torture! Torture Room is an interesting oddity and it's a pretty good jam if not a little repetitive. 3/5
- Gold City
Gold City is the theme for the Gold City missions in the game where I'm guessing you ransack the town in search of money to pay your massive debts. It's lively, urban, and maybe a little too up beat for stealing and causing chaos! The digital sounds in the track remind me of a stock exchange and people racing back and forth buying and selling, so I guess it is pretty appropriate for thievery! The song is just alot of fun and the only problem is that the main beat goes on for just a little too long. I'll give it a solid 3/5!
Thanks for reading guys! Be sure to give your own ratings and comments! See you sometime next month!

We've had favorite music track threads and whatnot but as far as I can recall, even after all these years of talking Legends together, we've never had a wider reaching music discussion thread. So, when I first saw this thread I thought, "What a cool idea!" I bookmarked it with the intention of finding time to reply later. Over a month passed before a reply notification arrived in my inbox, reminding me of this long-forgotten thread. I was severely disappointed to find it was poor Loken, back to write up more reviews without having gotten a single comment. Unfortunately I made the mistake of believing that the revival bump would attract attention the second time around. but here we are almost another month later... So sad, so sad. Well enough of that, let's talk music! Feeling of Love 2.5/5 I think this one is wonderfully suited to the moment, but to be honest I've never been all that crazy about it. I know a lot of people love it, but I just get really bored listening to it for any length of time. The Fokkerwolf, huh? I always imagined he meant during the Bruno battle, but maybe you're right? Hmm... In a strange sort of way I could see it working for the Bruno battle, though whether Bruno or Fokkerwolf I'm grateful he was overruled. XP Karumuna Bash 2/5 I don't know about this one. It's like it has the right sounds, the right tone, and yet it doesn't feel to me like it matches the intesity of the moment/battle. It starts out like it's gonna build beautifully and then loses its momentum. Flutter on Fire 3/5 I feel the lead instrument choice could have been better, but I still really like this track. Taking the Flutter theme and speeding it up sounds good, while the underlying strings and bass do a good job of conveying the intensity of the moment. Still like you said Loken, it doesn't take itself too seriously, which is good since the end result is a comical encounter with Data's cooking. Yosyonke 4/5 Haha, I really like this one, actually. I think it suits the cold scenery well but I've never associated it with gloomy people, hm... Actually, your whole assessment of Yosyonke is interesting, as I never have given as much overall thought and scrutiny to MML2 as I have the other two games. But anyway, the music strikes me as both cold and mellow and yet just as suited to a brighter, cheerier atmosphere. Definitely works for extended listening. And now I must run, but I'll be back. It would delight me to no end if I could add further commentary in a new post rather than editing this one. Hint, hint, people.

Man, nobody without broken speakers followed up? Lame. Let's see how many of these I can comment on before my dad asks for his computer back. Feeling of Love - 1/5 I never really paid much attention to this one even during the scene with Paprika, so when I got my hands on the soundtrack and found it, I think that from listening to so many movie scores, I was expecting something more emotionally moving. No dice. This would've made a horrible boss battle song, too, unless someone did some serious remixing. Karumuna Bash - 5/5 This was easily the most panic-inducing boss battle song for me in Legends 1. I can't imagine the effect it had on someone who didn't memorize the hint book before hand and had no idea what was coming once they got on that freight elevator. Just for fun, I went in and did a comparison play of Topporouletto and Karumuna Bash since I thought they were similar before. Topporouletto is definitely the more unsettling of the two themes and probably would've had me peeing myself in terror if it had been in Legends 1. Flutter on Fire - 3/5 Listenable. I can't really say much about this that hasn't been said. I don't get much of a sense of urgency in it at all, though, just general unease. I haven't really got a problem with it, though. Calinca Yosyonke - 4/5 This song makes me feel like a kid on an idyllic, snowy Christmas morning whenever I listen to it, without fail. I really like listening to it a lot, but I had to dock a point because it doesn't go very well with a generally depressed town. Glyde's Theme - 2/5 It's a good concept, but I really think the refrain needed to be used more throughout the song. Every other part is really repetitive. It does remind me of something that might've fit into Mega Man 8 for some reason, though. I can't exactly place why, but really has no bearing on my impression of the song itself. Shala-Kun Boss - 4/5 This one's a pretty solid 4. I don't remember which boss fight featured it (for all I know it could have been all of them), but it's nice and unsettling. Escape from the Tower- 4.5/5 Repetitive? Yes, but effective for its purpose. It really gets your adrenaline going if you don't know what you're in for. It almost makes the atmospheric noise in the later ruins seem tame. Then again, that was also very well-placed atmospheric noise. Reform- 5/5 Now THIS is what I was expecting from "Feeling of Love." Not this exactly, but at least something more emotionally moving than what they put there instead. If I had heartstrings, they'd be royally yanked by this tune. This is something I could see being remastered for a movie. Feeling of Love, not so much. Nino Battle Theme- 5/5 Generally, the non-ruin areas of Nino impressed me with the music. This conveys a nice sense of urgency and heroism that makes me want to go out and either save something or race something. I don't want to sit still while I'm listening to it, and I know if I put an extended version of this on in the car I'd probably get pulled over for speeding. Saul Kada Cleared- 1/5 Okay, this song is lame. But it DOES have a very practical use as an alarm clock. I used to have a loop of my scariest professor shouting "Get your ass up!" for my alarm, but I think this'll work better since I'm out of school and don't have to worry about him anymore...provided I put the clock on the other side of the room at max volume, forcing me to get up to shut it off. So yeah, it gets a point for that. Torture Room- 3/5 While it isn't something I'd listen to for fun or have much of a use for, it suits its purpose well enough. Gold City- 2/5 Very repetitive at the start. The fanfare in the middle and end of the track after the build was enough to pull it out of the 1 category, but there was just too much padding before the build-up. If they inverted the formula, with a miniscule bass/drum solo building straight into the more decidedly MoTB-like treble part, which would encompass the brunt of the song, I'd have probably given it a much higher score.

Howdy everybody! Welcome back to Poor Loken's Rock and Roll Rhythm Review! I'll be reviewing 6 slick songs from the Legend's series soundtrack! 2 from each game with a 1-5 rating at the end! Alright, let's do it! Megaman Legends 1 - Feldynaught
We start out our third edition of the review with this fine piece of boss music for the Bonne mech Feldynaught! The machine itself has always been one of my favorite Bonne mechs (but really they're all great) and this track really shows off it's intensity! As soon as the music starts you can visualize that big red octopus thing standing tall and intimidating before crouching down, zooming towards you, and lobbing bombs and machine gun fire your way. I can remember the first time I fought Feldynaught long ago when I wasn't good at video games and was also a small child. I'd just (FINALLY) beaten the Blumebears, was super low on health, and already kicked the soda machine to pieces. Obviously I died there many, many times (didn't know about the canteen :C) and Feldynaught inspired alot of tension and frustration with me. This boss is also the first to destroy buildings and that really makes you panic the first time you play! This song captures it all! It's layer upon layer of tension and fear. It really helps you get into the fight and really amplifies it. The fight wouldn't be nearly as scary without it and really wouldn't have been quite as special. 4/5!- Lakeside town Now for something much more relaxing! Lakeside town is (as I'm sure you know) the theme for Uptown Kattelox. This section of the city just exhumes fun! It's bright, pretty, has a view of the lake, and a host of fun things to do like the visiting the KTOX building, being snobby to an artist, gathering national treasures for her museum, and visiting the hospital! (Thinking about it, Ira is a bit of a downer.) This track feels right in line with the resort-type feeling of Uptown. The song is tropical, light-hearted, and uhh sunny-sounding! Perfect music for strolling a boat on the lake (if it wasn't fully of zuuf-geledes!) It's infinitely re-listenable and relaxing, and I give it 4/5!Megaman Legends 2- Manda Ruin
This track plays in the first big The key ruins. The Manda ruin is overgrown and features alot of animal-like reavers, and horrid status effects. The song is very jungle-like but to me doesn't really sound like ruin music to me. It could almost be town music. Not that I don't like the song. It's actually pretty good and doesn't get old very easily but it just doesn't capture running through traps, blowing apart frongels, or the tension of status effects with Guru Gurus running at you. It's a bit of a mix-match in my opinion. I'm going to go with with a 2.5/5 because while it IS a good song it doesn't seem like a ruin. - Forbidden Island- Wolf ReaverbotAs the super generic name implies this is the song that plays during the sub-boss Wolfon fight. The URL calls this song Forbidden Dog and I like that better. This is a high-speed track for a high speed-fight! As soon as you pass that gate and Wolfon howls this music gears up. It capture the speed of the robo-beast, the danger, the action, and even the snowy theme! You will find alot of similarities between this song and the other forbidden island tracks but they don't have the same action packed enthusiasm. Forbidden Dog is a bit of a departure from alot of reaver boss themes in that it's not a real heavy, tense track. It's fun, action-packed, and light but still manages to throw in an appropriate amount of stress. I really wish it was longer so it would be better just for listening! I'll give it the third 4/5 of this review! The Misadventures of Tron Bonne- Colossus Legend
Of course I still haven't watched a walkthrough of MoTB so I don't have proper context of this song but fortunately the title makes it easier to guess. I assume that during this song we are being told a centuries old tale of Colossus and the island secret. All I know for sure is that this song is pretty grating. It rally makes you want to stop listening to it! It's high pitched and repetitive and drones on for the longest 37 seconds ever. It does sound kind of fortune-telling and mysterious but that's all drowned out by the sheer not-goodness of the track. I'm going to give it a 1.5/5 because it's not as horrible as it could be. - Gesellshaft- Kobun Theme
I'm guessing that this song plays on the Gesellshaft among a bunch of servbots. This song does not remind me of servbots. Keep in mind that a different guy did MoTB's soundtrack so it's pretty different to the other Legends games. My problem with this song is not that it isn't like the Three Bonne Bros. or anything like that but that it's got a horrible carnival-like sound to it plus a loud ear-splitting yell in it. that being said the second half of the song is actually good. Once you get past the weird-bad beginning you get a few seconds of okay music. I wish I had context to this song because I really don't understand it. 1.5/5A quick note before I say goodbye, I decided this time to randomly select the MoTB tracks by just scrolling down with my eyes closed. You can see this random process produced 2 bad song and I'd really hate for you guys to get the impression that all MoTB are like this. I'll be hand-picking 2 good tracks for MoTB next month to make up for it! Thanks for reading friends! Be sure to comment and rate and such! I'll see you mid-April!

Well, I said I'd be back. It may be five months later, but I'm back!
Glyde's Theme 2.5/5 I'm giving this one a balanced rating. Melody was good, not the arrangement so much. Funny, I knew they were the same theme between MOTB and MML2, but I'd never listened to them side by side before.
Shala-kun Boss 4.5/5 I've always been crazy about this one. It is in fact used for all three Shala-kun boss battles, and I think it's got all the intensity required for that, but with enough lively fun mixed in that it's perfect for a battle where you have little Servbots running around trying to do your bidding. Come to think of it, this may be my favorite reaverboss battle theme in the entire series, next to Rimblemenji's.
Escape From The Tower 3.5/5 Yeah, definitely not an extended listening track, but perfectly suited to what it was made for. What I really love about it is that it's sooo MML1 in style.
Reform 5/5 No doubt, this one's simply fantastic. Can't really add to what's already been said. Love it!
Nino Battle Theme 3/5 In theory I can agree with what's been said, but in practice... I like the theme but there's always been something kind of off-putting about it to me. Listening closely now, it may be those overbearing horn blows that sound to me like they should have been halfed in volume and timed a beat or two later. Is that just me?
Saul Kada Area Cleared 1.5/5 Wow, listening to this one repeatedly just now, it is pretty bad. I don't think it's quite as terrible/unforgiveable as you guys seem to, but it is pretty bad.
Torture Room 3/5 I'm right with you guys on this one. It's great for what it is, gets repetitive in a hurry.
Gold City 3/5 A solid 3 out of 5 indeed! I think it's a fantastic theme to raid the town to, given all the crazy mischief and comical detail that's taking place all around.
That catches me up through Loken's February review. XP No telling when/if I'll be back for more...

I'll do a few of these: Flutter on FireI can't really complain too much about this one. It's the Flutter theme from MML1, but remixed in such a way that you get a sense of urgency while still having that lighthearted feel. 5/5.Calinca YosyonkeI really like the calm atmosphere of this one, but I definitely agree with the sentiment of it being a little -too- cheery for Yosyonke. 4/5. Saul Kada ClearedHonestly, I don't think this one is that bad. It's the same base as the battle theme, but the main melody is replaced with the drumline/cymbals bit. It kind of says "hey, the robots are gone, but don't relax yet". I felt like MML2 was really strong in this area; using a base theme and finding several ways to remix it to fit different moods. I'll admit that Nino pulled this off a LOT better though. I'll give it a 3/5. Karumuna Bash
I feel like this is one of the few Legends tracks that accurately capture fear. You've got 3 reaver-dogs chasing you nonstop and you're just wondering how you're going to make it out alive. Perfect 5. Lakeside Town
Ah, shopping mall music, or at least that's the vibe I get from it. Accurately portrays that feeling you get when taking a nice stroll outdoors. It sounds a little more beach-like than Uptown is, but still conveys the mood accurately enough. 4/5
Manda RuinsDynamo Man called, he wants his theme back. Likeness aside, I feel that this theme is a little -too- happy for the inside of a ruin. It captures the jungle motif, sure, but I can't help but wonder if the Frongel are going to attack me or start breaking out into a musical number. 2/5.

Feldynaught - The melody itself isn't exactly the sort of thing you'd find yourself humming because it's stuck in your head, but it serves its purpose very well, considering that this is the first major boss encounter in the game. It builds up as it goes along, which is great for making a tense moment even tenser. I'm going to give it a 5/5--Legends has certainly done boss music right this time around.
Lakeside Town - This one definitely captures the waterfront energy you'd expect out of a place like Uptown Kattelox. The fact that the music here changed while Apple Market, Downtown, and the City Hall area shared a theme always irked me, though. I'm not sure I'd want to give this theme up entirely, but maybe restricting it to use inside buildings and on the dock would've made it less odd. Especially since Uptown isn't really that waterfront compared to the perimeter of Kattelox as a whole. I'll give it a 4/5.
Manda Ruins - There really isn't much of a sense of impending danger with this. I could see it being used in a tutorial ruin, but Manda's supposed to be housing one of the game's major McGuffins. Where's the intimidation factor? It's like they're not even trying. 2/5.
Wolfon Theme - I'm not entirely sure as to why I'm reminded of some kind of generic anime battle theme right now, but I personally don't like the contrast between this and the other Reaverbot themes in the series. It seems like something better suited to a fight with the Bonnes or Glyde, especially since it's on Forbidden Island and all. Forbidden Island isn't supposed to sound familiar and inspiring. 3/5 from me. It's a good enough tune, but I'm seriously questioning the placement.
Colossus Legend - If I recall correctly, it's Loath talking here. That excuses any grating repetitivity it may have. If this is indeed the backdrop to a Loath monologue, then it gets a 5/5. If it's any other faction, it gets a 1/5. I wish I could remember for sure.
Kobun Theme - This plays during every Servbot training minigame in the game. And yes, it gets old fast. They use it in the end and that works out pretty well given the circumstances, but you couldn't pay me to listen to an extended loop of this. Okay, you could, but I'm not accepting any offer lower than $100. 2/5.
