Alright guys I have recently started working with Foam. A nice resource used by a lot of prop builders lately. I plan to make a life sized Reaverbot and I felt an Arukoitan would be an easy start. I would love to do a Sub City Down Town Sharukurusu or a Hanmuru Doll. But I gotta be realistic here, haha. Cost of foam and space in my house is limited, lol. The reason I'm starting this thread though is because i have a question that is very crucial to the design of this Reaverbot, and YOU can be that very important helper in jump starting this project! In Mega Man Legends 1.. How tall was Mega Man? ALSO! Who has the Pepakura or .PDF file of the Arukoitan from the in-game files?

I would say Rock is about 5"9. Good luck on your foam Matthew! This is an awesome project. Life sized reaver? People have talked about it before but I don't think anyones done it! I would really love to see that

That's "SketchMan3". Capital S, capital M and the number 3. It's official (nicknames are ok, though)

I would really love to see that Really? I would have thought he was only like, 5'4" at the most, if that. But I guess that's because the NPC models in the games are a lot taller than he is, for practical reasons I assume...

Alright I will be PM'ing you very soon to get that .PDO file and I will probably scale the Pepakura to about a 1 ft. tall monument statue of it to work from to have a more hands on feel of the proportions and such since their legs aren't perfect cylinders like the sharukurusu's. They are oblong in a way frontwards. I'm really anxious to start on this project. Even to the detail of having oil leaking slightly from the joints. It's gonna get real up in here, haha.
So what are we on the height of Mega Man? Cause that is almost the most important piece to the scaling of the Arukoitan. I'm going to compare Mega Man's height to the height of the average male at 21 then I'm going to know how to scale the Arukoitan to its perfect height. I'm estimating this thing is gonna be about 8 ft. tall or maybe pushing 9 ft. if I'm measuring to the tip of that long spike on its head.
By the way if anyone is wondering. Yes the eye will light up red but not like a flash light. Will be lightly iluminated to where if you were in the dark you can see the eye perfectly but it doesn't really flare of light as a red flash light. Also, IT WILL NOT BE POSEABLE.. BUT I am considering making the head be able to spin by remote. But that is me thinking very far ahead in terms of production on this. I also will be going with the default color scheme that was displayed in the 'Official Artwork' gallery.

Holy crap, dude! I can't wait to see this. A life-sized Reaverbot...And who knows, if you get good enough at it you could do a Sharukurusu. Or a Large Sharukurusu, which would be scary, now that I think about it. XD A Hanmuru Doll would be awesome too, but that seems like a lot of work.
You should totally do a Gai-nee Tooren though. Easier than pie.

Actually before I decided on the Arukoitan I was pondering the idea of a Large-Sized Sharukurusu. But due to other projects I am currently still putting time into, work, the girlfriend, and some of my own relaxation time. I would've never finished the Sharukurusu lol. :28: Dear Lord... I'm scaling the Arukoitan. The 3rd Person views have obscured our perspective of how big all Reaverbots are.. At about 7ft. (Which is basically my ceiling) Is only the middle of the Center Body of the Arukoitan. Full Scale Replica here we go! Hahahaha

I'm pretty sure that Volnutt's height is 5'2". X's official height is 5'3", and since Volnutt is slightly shorter than him, it'd only make sense that he'd be 5'2". Funny enough, this makes Volnutt, Tron and Roll (as far as I know, they all share the same height) some of the tallest people within the entire MegaMan universe, as most main characters are between 4'-5'.

Why construct a death robot and only make them 5 foot? Is everyone in the future short?

Hmmm...If you think about it, assuming the characters were modeled after Japanese people, the average height for males in their late teens in Japan is around 5' 7". Volnutt is only 14, so he's still got some growing to do. Makes sense...
The same goes for original Megaman, Protoman, Bass, etc. Light and Wily, on the other hand, probably have a serious short-man complex. XD

Well guys I got a long shift ahead of me today. Won't be off until 10pm. I'm shooting for hopefully getting the Pepakura .PDO file of the Reaverbot printed and built tonight. If that process goes quick enough for me tonight I may begin measuring it out to design the full scale model. Reason I'm letting you all know if because now you can look forward to having progress pictures! ;D

I think I broke me record for cutting out 23 full sheets of Pepakura prints. In under a half an hour I cut out all the pieces I had spaced out over 23 pages due to the size of the scale. Keep in mind the Pepakura model I am building here is exactly 1/8 of the full scale model. This is just for reference to have something physically infront of me while I work on the final. Though the final will be much higher detail than the old PSX 3D models. The link below is the progress so far. Just a pile of Paper, haha! i1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc393/mullen126/SAM_1740_zpsc826731c.jpg

Hahah, so a baby Arukoitan? Arukoichan! That's pretty cool. And working on the smaller version should give you a general idea of how the larger version will feel.
