Hello everyone.
I've been a huge fan of Mega Man Legends (both 1 and 2) for quite some time now. I just recently downloaded the PC version of the game, and I figured I would encounter some issues, as I use Windows 7, and the game was released before Vista.
I've not made it too far into the game yet, but so far I've encountered two issues that I was eager to sort out. As these fixes worked for me, personally, I'd like to share them with you guys, as I'm more than likely not the first, nor the last, fan to experience these problems on current operating systems.
The first problem I noticed...
This is a fix for the annoying window that keeps appearing, disappearing and then re-appearing again randomly yet quite rapidly in the upper-right hand corner of the screen as the game is running on Windows 7 (more than likely Windows Vista as well.)
Once you've mounted the .ISO and installed the game, right-click on the game icon (the one that actually starts the game), go to the "Compatibility" tab and make sure "Disable visual themes" is checked/activated, then click "OK".
The window should no longer keep popping up while you're trying to play the game. Yes, I realize you can play the game while this is happening, but really, who would want to?
And secondly...
If you're unable to see the opening "Capcom" logo when you start the game, you more than likely get an error stating "Video not available, cannot find 'vids:iv50' decompressor."
This means that the video was compressed with a codec that isn't installed on your PC.
I'm currently running the game on Windows 7, and I realize this isn't a huge deal, as the rest of the game doesn't seem to cause me any problems (thus far), but I wanted to take care of this issue as soon as possible.
The codec you need is located here: www.cucusoft.com/codec.asp
"codinstl.exe" (1.8 MB)
Specifically, www.cucusoft.com/codecdownload/codinstl.exe
After installing this I no longer have this issue.
I've also uploaded the codinstl.exe codec on MediaFire, should the above website ever go down. The .zip file also contains Virus Total (www.virustotal.com/) scan results, which I can assure you, are clean.

Should I run into any other issues that I am able to fix, I shall post my findings here.
Thanks for reading, hope someone else finds this information helpful. Happy gaming!
