Making yet another game. Yup. Believe it. I know what you guys might be thinking right about now. "Again, Bowen? Get serious and stop and making empty promises." Well, unlike the previous games, can and will finish this one on my own. Why? Because this time, I have motivation: College! Without further adeaux, Bowenillium Phalken Aeroica proudly presents...
The "Elysium Defense" Development Thread!!
The game takes place not on Terra, but in SPAAAAACE!! More specifically a System satellite called Eden II. Name still subject to change. Players resembling Volnutt find themselves having to capture Eden II. Protecting the control consoles in Eden II are the Elysium Defense, a group of Juno-Trigger hybrid Purifier Units. If the Carbons capture Eden II, a gateway to Elysium opens, and they win.
It is still a WiP, so suggestions are more than welcome.

Well, in a sense, it's Sci-fi since it's Eden II... in SPAAAAACE!! I am making it via Roblox, and it has gone smoothly thus far.
Anyways, since it's in SPAAAAACE players will spawn in stasis pods aboard Flutter-esque spaceships. Capture Points in Eden II are computer consoles. And of course I use Refractors as the power source of the entire satellite.
Pretty predictable, as is that there will be many Easter Eggs all over. Some will be Portal, others Team Fortress 2 or Kingdom Hearts. But majority of them are from--

Googled Roblox. Hopefully you can make a good game on that. by genre I mean game genre, not book genre. now that I know what roblox is it's a little clearer what you are doing. Good Luck.

Game Genre? I dunno. Whatever would "Capture The Flag" go under.
Anyways, any ideas for Easter Eggs?

I think you should probably focus on getting all the core gameplay in motion before you worry about the extra details. You can't put icing on the cake without the cake, unless you just want to eat icing out of the tub.

That doesn't sound unhealthy at all. (sarcasm) Anyways, I already have a cake planned out on paper. All I have to do is bake it.
And trust me, at the end of development, there will be cake, and it will be delicious. ...Until a mechanical claw from the ceiling puts out the single candle on it...

That sounds like an interesting idea for a game, Bowen. It definitely sounds unique.
Will the game take place after Legends 2 or would it like a side-game?

Little of column A, little of column B. Basically, the story is that the Carbons assist in rescuing Volnutt using modified Airships. Roll and Tron mass-produce copies of Volnutt's armor for the Carbons to use. In addition to the armor are enhancements remiscent of the X Series. These enhancements have been stolen by the Elysium Defense, and scattered across Eden II.
Speaking of Eden II, I've finished nearly half of the entire satellite. What I have constructed thus far is Section I, which is an Orbital Friendship Ion Cannon only to be used in the rare event that the Carbon Reinitialization Program fails. Or when a Master Unit gets pissed at his/her Servitor Unit and wants to blow off steam. The Storage and Control Rooms of Section II are finished, but constructing the Factory/Refinery is taking its sweet time. Section III has yet to be constructed.

Okay, uhm, very quick update from the hospital. I might have a minor case of... Well... Serious kidney dysfunction. Yeah... Not so minor. Gettin surgery soon. Currently waiting... In this bed. Wearing a damn gown. I'm scared out of my wits. But not to worry. Not stopping the project. I'll get over this. Eventually. So, yeah. Wish me luck.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Striker. Remind me to share some secrets from the project with you.
I have made a full recovery. Good thing they used that stitch substitution medicine from that one commercial, otherwise we'd cancelled our trip to the Philipines. The stitches in my eyebrow that cousin Denis gave me are bad enough. If they saw stitches in my side, they'd lay out bubblewrap everywhere.
Anyways, back to the project. I plan to make a Labyrinth, but I'm unsure if it should be symetrical, or randomly arranged. If the former, I'd be happier that it maintains the perfection I strive for in my projects, albeit easier to navigate. The latter is more difficult to navigate, but will trigger some massive OCD in me whenever I have to go through it.

It's great to hear that you are better after your kidney dysfunction.
The reasons why you would prefer one type of Labyrinth to another makes a lot of sense, so I too prefer the symmetrical one.

Thread Reboot and Update. The game is coming along nicely. I carefully pieced it all together, but I came across a minor difficulty. I noticed lag caused by too many polygons, so I removed the Refractor Refinery and replaced it with storage. One problem. I have no idea what the storage should contain. I already stuffed 4 rooms with Refractor Ore, but what about the other 8? Any suggestions?

Like I said before, this project is still ongoing. Hopefully this post isn't considered Necromancy. Anyway, I'm at a lost here. While working on the final boss design, I realized I haven't given him any attacks. I've created a list, but for simplicity's sake, I can only settle on four attacks for each of his three forms. Here is said list, each with the name and description of the attack, categorized by Form. Attacks in Purple are mandatory for each form, but listed anyway for future reference. Console Form; Boss attached to a stationary mainframe. Comparable to GLaDOS. Mortar Driver; Stationary Cannon that is separate from the boss body. Comparable to Wheatley Bombs. Trace Beam; Continuous laser beam that follows a cursor. Trace Bolt; Discharges a high-voltage arc of electricity upon a targeted area. Separate from boss body. Shotgun Spark; Launches an electromagnetic sphere. Scatters in multiple directions on impact. Magna Blazer; Launches an electromagnetic sphere. Crackles violently in a small radius on impact. Plate Shift; Changes room's surfaces to include lethal traps. Separate from boss body.[/ul] Standard Form; Comparable to MegaMan Juno's "disembodied" configuration. Shattered Comet; Launches multiple Star Buster shots in all horizontal directions. Meteor Fragments; Launches a small capsule that explodes and scatters miniature meteors on impact. Nanoscopic Manipulation; Materializes various objects onto the battlefield. Magnokinetic Lift; Moves materialized objects by manipulating the electromagnetic field around them.[/ul] Ultimate Form; A simplistic, yet exceptionally advanced, combat configuration. Comparable to Copy X's Seraph Form. Comet Rain; Showers explosive comets on the battlefield. Galactic Suction; Generates a gravitational void that draws then crushes opponents. Nova Crash; Creates a shockwave across the ground. Judgement; Summons a shining ray of light on the target area. Comparable to Tenshouha. Carpé Diem; Each individual body part attacks the battlefield independently.[/ul]
