So a few weeks ago, I mentioned in iScribble (I think) about how DASH2PC has artwork after the credits. Apparently this does not occur in the PS1 or PSP versions, so I promised to properly rip and post the images once my good computer was working again.
I finished ripping the entire credits roll last night. Noticed something interesting; the porting team is credited as Dysin Interactive Corp., a Taiwanese game outfit apparently famous for the 1994 game "Violent Myth" and a few other game & animation productions of little impact outside Taiwan and/or China. I'm not terribly sure what Typhoon Soft's relation to DASH2PC is anymore (perhaps local distributor?). Suffice to say, Dysin Interactive's website - www.dysin.com.tw - no longer resolves and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they went out of business, as the latest dated reference I could find is 2003, in someone's online resumé.
Anyway, it's funny, as the porting team messed up 2 of the stills in the credit roll (technically 3, although the 3rd is not visible and only wastes space). The image palettes are ever so slightly broken for 1) the Capcom logo, and 2) the only mention of the porting team staff. That's a helluva fail, if I do say so myself. I double checked my converter, and unless I've misunderstood the format (for these 2 images only, all the rest are okay), it's definitely an error in the game itself. As such, I've made MODified versions of the two rips that have corrected colours, as the fix was very simple.
Of the illustrations, 4 of them are NOT on MMLS! Unfortunately, since the resolution of textures is capped at 256x256 (and these particularly ones are 256x208), the quality is not that great. Still, they're better than nothing.
There has likely been quality loss in uploading to Photobucket; please download the attachment for original BMPs
Lastly, the final still (the Capcom logo) suggests that, unlike the PS1 version, the "Your Time" screen does not occur in this version, although I need to confirm this by beating the game.
EDIT: I have beat the game and say that the 'Your Time' screen DOES appear as it normally would in the PS1 version. The credits and illustrations also appear on the Elysium image as per PS1 version, but this is stored in a separate resource file (Stage 57).
All images are reconstructed from x04s (GFX+PAL pairs). STAFF.DAT is 1:1 the same in both Japanese and Chinese editions.
