Holy crap! I'm glad you brought this to my attention!
I've been debating whether or not to buy a Wii U, but Monolith Soft's Xeno game trailer might have just sold me on it. Looks absolutely beautiful, and I went from "want" to "MUST HAVE" right after seeing the mech towards the end!

1/31/13: Yeah, that new Monolith Soft game has been very enticing to people. I'll always stick with Nintendo since they keep on releasing games I want to play, so we already had one. To be fair, the Wii U has had a very slow start with software out of the gate. This should help it a bit, even if a lot of these games are off by awhile.
Today: Apparently if you name your game "Legends", it's cursed to be screwed over by corporate mismanagement. The candidate this time around is Rayman Legends for the Wii U. While it's been announced that it's going multiplatform, that's not what has fans in a tizzy. No, it's that the Wii U version is being held back until the PS3 and 360 versions are completed... in September. That's around the same time that GTAV and some of Nintendo's stuff from that last Nintendo Direct will hit.
In other words, it sure looks like the game that people were wanting on the Wii U during this bleak launch period where Legends could have possibly thrived is getting set to bomb on all three consoles now. Great if you like saving money, not so great if you're a Wii U owner to have the rug pulled out on you just a couple of weeks before the game was set to come out. At least it is coming out, but this is not good for a B-tier franchise that already saw Rayman Origins struggle because Ubisoft put it up against the big boys years ago. Oops.

And now the Yamaguchi line's releasing the Vic Viper to show off its almighty cockpit.

That trailer doesn't clearly indicate that DuckTales -REMASTERED- will be available for the Nintendo 3DS. They write that it will be released for the Nintendo eShop, but that could easily mean the Wii U eShop (For which it will also be available). The only direct mention of the Nintendo 3DS is in the last, black screen with white writing. It mentions that you need to update your Nintendo 3DS if you can't see the Nintendo eShop icon.

Sorry for the double post, but BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TIME! Don't worry about it. DuckTales Remastered isn't going to be available on the 3DS. At least, it won't be initially. Maybe Capcom will change their minds, but that's probably unlikely. You'll only be able to download it from PSN, XBLA and the Wii-U eShop.

What I'd like to know is, where did Adrian think I mentioned it coming out for 3DS? Because I've gone over my post a few times now, and I still don't see it, because I KNOW I never posted anything like that.

I don't see it either. In the future, though, use the modify button or, if you need to bump the thread, quote yourself, delete the quote tags in the code tab on the full reply screen, and then add the new part and delete the original post instead of straight-up double-posting.
...Unless that's a mod function. I can't tell what regular members can and can't do in v5. >_<
That aside, the sing-along ad was pure genius. I don't think I'm going to have the means to play this myself, but it looks pretty promising. I wish they'd taken this approach when making Mega Man 9 and 10, actually. Even if it meant outsourcing.

Because I've gone over my post a few times now, and I still don't see it, because I KNOW I never posted anything like that. I was just adding information. I'm pretty sure you never mentioned the 3DS in your original post. I wish they'd taken this approach when making Mega Man 9 and 10, actually. Even if it meant outsourcing. You do know that MegaMan 7 and 8 (Not sure about Bass) were pretty much received with negative reviews by the fans, right? Straying too much from the original visual style without changing gameplay has proven to be unsuccessful with most MegaMan titles. I've even seen people complaining about DuckTales -REMASTERED- already, saying that the whole game should have been in 2D.

Could I have a source for the bit about people being dissatisfied with the visual style of 7 and 8? Because I know of plenty of people who are currently dissatisfied with Mega Man still being entrenched in the 8-bit style. Myself included, but I've never liked the way the old 8-bit Mega Man sprites looked. I'm pretty sure I've called it froglike and deformed on a number of occasions and even drew my interpretation of it on iScribble once. But as for Ducktales, I'm fine with the way DuckTales currently looks, myself. It looks like a massive step up from where the game was at its original debut. Generally speaking, if no attempts at innovation or progress are ever made out of fear of backlash, then any brand is at risk for stagnation no matter how popular it is.

I can only give you anecdotal evidence, but the group that tends to love either Mega Man 7 or 8 generally don't care for the old 8-bit style games and will call Mega Man 2 overrated at the drop of a hat. Conversely, there's that whole purist side that loves Mega Man 2 and anything like it. Thankfully, it's not like a Classic vs. Modern Sonic situation where the logic gets drowned out by stupidity because there quite a few people that tend to like all of them which habit my own channel.
So yeah, I love Mega Man 3, 4, and 10 while also loving Mega Man 8 and Powered Up. Doesn't matter if the game's good to me. I don't mind if they go the Mega Man 11 (8-bit) route or try something new with the next installment. I just want something from that department.
As for DuckTales, that looks pretty good. I don't mind these remakes when they actually go above and beyond the call of duty like this. I just hope this doesn't delay any WayForward projects like that Shantae 3DS game they were working on. I'm kind of interested in that one!

www.destructoid.com/100-series-retrospective-mega-man-classic-239952.phtmlI can give you a lot more than one source. As a matter of fact, both MegaMan 7 and 8 were so controversial that MegaMan fans have made demakes of both of them, with 8-bit graphics and tighter physics. It's just not easy to change the graphic style while keeping the physics intact, especially in 2D games. (Also, a great part of the fans who have asked for X9 to be made have declared that they would like it to be developed with 16-bit graphics, like the SNES games.) P.S. Before anyone mentions it, Chris is praising MegaMan 8. However, that is his opinion and he clearly mentions the game being "entirely underrated", this quote helping us see the true feelings of most MegaMan fans for the 8th entry in the series. Extra: I will add that Classic MegaMan games with improved graphics can be done right. MegaMan Powered Up is all the proof I need. It had some tight physics and a great critical response from both fans and professional reviewers. Too bad it had low sales. Then again, I believe the PSP wasn't too popular by the time of the game's release. Generally speaking, if no attempts at innovation or progress are ever made out of fear of backlash, then any brand is at risk for stagnation no matter how popular it is. True. That's the biggest reason to why I think MegaMan isn't doing well right now. In the move to 3D, Mario and Sonic both had their various attempts. Mario's attempts generally succeeded while Sonic's had their up and downs (And some controversy), but continue to try to keep things fresh and things seem to look up for him in these last few years. MegaMan's original jump to 3D wasn't really successful or notorious, mostly due to it being an Adventure Game instead of a Platformer Action Game. Capcom had been trying to keep things fresh with the X series, but X7's jump to 3D failed too much and the next series (Zero and ZX) didn't differ too much from X. Battle Network and Star Force originally jumped on the MegaMan name bandwagon, but were good enough to succeed on their own. (Though their long-term success without the MegaMan name might be debatable.)

On another note, here is a demo for a 3DS rhythm-based platformer called HarmoKnight in the shop right now. The full game releases on Thursday for $15, but you can try a pretty lengthy session on it (three training levels, three actual levels) to see if it's your cup of tea. I'm finding it difficult since it's easy to screw up the timing and lose everything pretty quickly.

Ace Attorney 5 Japanese Release Date LeakedWhile the original source has been removed, Siliconera was able to catch a screenshot. Basically, it says that some information about AA5 will be shown at an event in late April and that the game will be released in Japan on July 25, 2013. In other news, Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney is set to be released in Europe at some point in October. --- Phoenix Wright - Dual Destinies Arriving on Autumn. It will be Digital-Only, but I don't really care about that. I'm just happy that we are getting the full game. (Though I'm still importing that awesome Phoenix Wright statue from the Japanese Limited Edition.)

I don't normally bring up Kickstarter projects (as in ever until now), but I really am digging the look of A Hat in Time. It's looking like it is reaching its goals slowly but surely, and it has a nice little Wind Waker aesthetic going for it. Hope it manages to get a Wii U release down the line and that the actual game delivers if it does.
