Apparently, GetMeOffTheMoon is preparing to promote Capcom Unity's Devroom with paid Facebook advertising. You can donate money to the campaign (The minimum being $5 due to technical reasons), knowing that all of the money will be used for Facebook advertising. Donation Page + More Info Here: legendsvscapcom.com/While I'm not a member of the GetMeOffTheMoon campaign for reasons I promised not to disclose to their full extent, I thought some of you might want to know about this. So, help if you want to.

1. I absolutely dislike that video. What the fuck is wrong with them, making this a versus like fight? 2. I dislike the whole 100k/GMOTM movement. They do nothing good to the series.

That is not the brightest way to go about things for the #1 reason Trnuer said. The whole idea of the movement is to not go up against Capcom but show them that they're wrong in canning a game without even giving it a chance when it was so close to release. It also doesn't help that I'm expecting NFL Prime Time to start playing when I hear that music.
That said, I disagree with the #2 one as the FB group along with Dashe has helped advertise a few good promotions like the Servbot design and weapons contests to me. Sure, that one Matt dude likes everything posted, and both he and the Anime page spam the place up with pics I don't care to see, but they're at least trying to keep the movement active.
Instead of just complaining about the trailer that was made, I want to mention that I really enjoyed the one that was made recently that had a counter going up and up and eventually reached 150,000 before exploding or something. I think the ending had Dashe say her line about Capcom losing a lot of money by not releasing the game. That one was way more effective in getting the message across to me.

How are they helping us? The Mega Man fandom as a whole, not just Legends. All that page is about fans waving their dicks at Capcom. Comparing the MML3 devroom to the Dead Rising page? Telling people not to buy other Capcom games? I mean what, now the Capcom heads and developers are the same? I bet probably half of the current likes aren't even from MM fans. They're going to reach 100.000 and start bitching about Capcom not giving two fucks about the whole movement. 100k likes =/= 100k bought copies of the game. Too bad I can't do anything about it. If I could, I would shut down the whole movement. It's embarrassing to be a Mega Man / Legends fan because of them.

He's right, though. That fanpage isn't really doing much of anything except milling around like a herd of cattle. It really is embarrassing. I don't want anything to do with the GMOTM project either.
E: now that I've watched that video, I want 25 seconds of my life back. That shit was horrible.

Same here. That's why I forbid anyone outside of MMLS to work on the Adventure Tour project. I don't fucking want them to claim the project as a "revive MML3" kind of thing.
lol: please do so. Also, send a few packs to the GMOTM page too. They really need to chill the fuck down and accept that Capcom cancelled the game and their shitty page ain't going to save it. I hope you'll pay for the shipping. Being the kind MAN you are, it would be great.

I don't understand why someone would go through the trouble of making a new account just for the purposes of saying someone else is being bitchy. Do you fear retribution that much?

Trnuer has somewhat of a point, even if it was not expressed in an appropriate manner.
While the campaign itself hasn't "officially" asked us to boycott other series, they have seriously hinted at it with pictures like "X Likes till' we pass Dead Rising/LostPlanet/Etc.". Also, many of it's followers have freely expressed their desires to boycott Capcom.
While people are free to do what they want they want to do, may I remind you that Capcom's heads are not the same as its developers. Developers are told by the heads what games to develop. Now, no sane developer would spend years of their life trying to make a bad game in purpose. They try to make the best game possible, considering the resources they have. With the videogame market being so fierce these days, if their games don't sell well then people will almost always get fire. While these boycotts don't seem to be significantly big enough to affect the majorly affect the sales of the games, people should still be conscious of the situation for deciding to do things like this.
Also, I'm pretty sure that a lot of the likes for the GetMeOffTheMoon page are not from Legends fans. Many are from friends and families of Legends fans who were asked to like the page. Others are from people who supported the page because other pages or people they liked supported them, like that Anime page. Others may be from people caught up in the hype, but that may or may not Legends fans and that may ultimately not buy the game. (And let's not talk about the cheap plug-ins that people try to pull off in Twitter to get likes...)
Having said that, I don't truly think the Facebook Paid Advertising Campaign is a good idea. For starters, most Legends fans that have access to the Internet may have probably already liked the page. I doubt that paid advertisement may entice non-Legends user to like the page, and even if it did it still wouldn't really count as a guaranteed sale for reasons I mentioned above. At most, it may gather likes from some of the few missing Legends fans that for some reason have never heard about the campaign, which may be to reasons like not using the Internet for anything other than social-networks-using.
And about creating new fans... The original games are not really that short to complete and they're very expensive to boot. They are also difficult to locate. I doubt that someone will go through all of that trouble just to see if they want to support the campaign or not. Now, if the Legends games were released on PSN...

Nah, let him be. I mean, by tomorrow, he'll probably be deleted, right? Now a PSN release would probably help, but as said by Capcom before, it's hard to accomplish. They probably won't even bother with it. You can get Legends in Japan fairly easy.

In all honesty, I think those get me off the moon people have been fighting a lost battle for a year now.
I'm fairly sure they're not going to restart development on Legends 3 at all.

I don't understand why someone would go through the trouble of making a new account just for the purposes of saying someone else is being bitchy. Do you fear retribution that much? Yes. :12: *Ahem*Bad joking aside, I can see why some people are upset about this. The video does give off a semi-hostile vibe towards Capcom, which is a bit silly since the main goal is to work with them, and show 'em the error of their ways. I have no problem with donating towards a decent cause, yet I can't help but feel that I'm giving money to an impromptu militia. As for the GMOTM movement... I'll admit, it has turned into a bit of a spam-fest lately, but that doesn't mean everyone on that page is, as you put it, Hank; "...milling around like a herd of cattle." They might be derping around a little, but their heart is in the right place, I guess. Anyways, that's my two cents. Take it as you will. Edit: I forgot to emphasize that this is merely my opinion. So... umm... don't take it as any sort of *serious* complaint. :41:

That's only two cents. It's still far from the greedy $5 they're asking for lol. I mean I gladly donate whatever amount to... say, the AVGN movie, but not for something like a Facebook ad, that won't even help.

Had a quick look at the video and I got a few things to say about it:
1. The whole "VS" farce has a bad vibe; two parts of a logo coming in from opposite directions is clearly an implication of conflict and opposition. Something which I'm sure is not the whole point of the campaign in question. 2. In reference to #1, it has a far too biased 'propaganda' feel in getting 'supporters' (read: people to jump on the bandwagon).
I want to make it clear that I stand netural to this whole revival movement; but even so, I believe that there are better ways in getting support for this campaign without attracting the wrong kind of people to derail the cause. Or worse, ruin the very thing they want to achieve.
Also, Hong Kong has some of the best buildings in the world.

Hey Adrian thanks for posting this, and even though you're not a part of the group (news to me) I appreciate that you have some positive things to say about the idea of doing the donations. A few things need to be addressed here. First off we all have a very clear understanding that 100,000 is just a number and that it will by no means be what brings the game back. Hell, we know that the chances of it staying cancelled period are very high. That's not gonna stop us from giving it a shot. It's about showing Capcom that there is potential to make money off of this game, and what they do with that knowlege is up to them. I understand peoples concern with the Capcom vs 100k video but I gotta say that if it bothers you you've probably done zero research on the movement. If you're a part of 100k you'll know we continually discourage Capcom bashing and make it clear that the movement needs to have a mature and generally good spirited approach. I mean come on, you guys had to have seen the way we represented ourselves at NYCC, and that attitude hasn't changed. Keep in mind we're dealing with almost 90,000 people and we can't control how each person behaves, we can only encourage positivity. That being said, it was mentioned that the video suggests a conflict or opposition of some sort.... ya think? We want the game, they cancelled the game. We obviously have a conflict of interest. Again, that coupled with the knowledge that we aren't anti Capcom makes the video perfectly acceptable. How does 100k help promote all the other Megamen? How is that even relevant? The group is obviously for Legends3. Although I will say that I, like Dash, am really only into Legends as far as MM goes. But the group brought in all sorts of Megaman fans that post pictures, videos, and exchange memories of both Legends and other games from the MM universe. It's honestly made me want to give the other games a try. So in that respect it is helping gain awareness for all things MM. If you don't think we've done anything for the Legends games and their popularity (which is a step towards getting Legends3) I'm sorry but you obviously don't know what you're talking about. If you'd like to challenge that I'll be happy to enlighten you. And Trnuerlrjw, You're enitirely too negative for your own good. Maybe this is a bit judgmental of me, but you seem like the type that enjoys hating stuff just for the sake of it. Especially when it's popular.
but not for something like a Facebook ad, that won't even help. Again you have no idea what you're talking about. If you only knew how long we've had members in Internationally Strategies using hundreds of their own dollars for the FB advertising. It's brought thousands to both the Devroom and 100k. We've got the inside data on all of that, so I'll just encourage you not make assumptions on things you have no clue about. If you wonder why I'm coming off so peeved, it's because I've seen all the hard work and hours spent from myself and my friends in the movement, and have seen all that work has accomplished. It's frustrating when someone like you comes in out of no where acting like they know it all and start making uninformed/jackass comments. I have no plans to have a grudge towards you or anything dumb like that. You just needed correcting. {Merged Double Post - EC}

Your ragemode posting has left me even less willing to contribute to your 100K strong movement. We're being realistic here. I highly doubt that even if you do manage to hit that mythical 100,000 person goal that Capcom is going to suddenly say, "Whoa, we should totally start making this game again!" Your efforts are admirable. But I think you're being unrealistic about the whole thing. Capcom has moved on. They're busy pushing out six different versions of "Street Fighter X Tekken: The Paywall Advent."
Sometimes, listening to criticism outside of your field of view is a good thing. Don't just dismiss all of it as some no-knowing idiots bashing your hard work.
You mentioned that you're not in direct opposition to Capcom, except for the fact that you don't think Legends 3 should have been canned. Except your video explicitly shows conflict. With no text or a voiceover explaining the message behind the Monday Night Football theme, all we see is 25 seconds of "IT'S US AGAINST THEM." You haven't elaborated on your message enough. To the average, uninformed passerby, it's going to look like you ARE shitting on Capcom and boycotting them. That's just what happens when a message is misinterpreted because it wasn't clearly presented. And if you think I don't know what I'm talking about, feel free to rage at me all day. Scream at your computer until there's spittle on your monitor. Whatever makes you feel better.
