Last night I drafted a petition about Legends 3, and I want to know how I can get ahold of the people in charge of the 100k strong group - if it's made an 'official' petition of the movement, once we hit 100k, I plan to attach everyones' names to it, and then see what I can do to get it actually hand-delivered to Capcom in Japan (speaking of, if this is made official, I'm going to need a translator...). The petition can be seen on my dA account, if anyone is curious what I came up with. I think that everyone can agree that it fits our direction quite well. yadaman.deviantart.com/art/Petition-to-Capcom-283385126

I can assist with that. To clarify, you're just going through the entire list of 100k members and attach it to the petition behind their backs?
As far as the petition itself, the following could use some tweaking:
- The prototype version was delayed weeks before its release date, not months. It was a little under a month. I actually had an advent calendar to count down to it and was planning to put it up here for download.
- The project didn't start to stagnate until February 22nd's greenlighting meeting, where it quite obviously did not get greenlit. Until that point it was incredibly lively and productive.
- It might also be a good idea to mention that Chris Hoffman of Nintendo Power said the Prototype seemed to have been in a finished, or at least marketable, state when he played it, and would have recommended it in that section of Nintendo Power where they say which downloadable games are worth checking out and which aren't. I'm not sure what that section is called. If anyone here subscribes to NP or buys it regularly that'd be a huge help.
Good call on pouring our hearts and souls into the Devroom, and everything else. I'm sure there are people out there whose grades took a dip because of it, too. :17:

The section in Nintendo Power is simply called 'Download', though considering the planned size of the Prototype I wouldn't've been surprised if it got a writeup in the 'Review' section as well.

Dashe - You're absolutely right, it was just under a month, note I wrote this at midnight and my brain was a bit fried. I also have a ton of recent NP back-issues - I'll look through them when I get the chance.
Also, the idea is that we need something to present to Capcom as a sort of manifesto - having 100,000 people and a general cause doesn't mean much when compared to having 100,000 people and a concrete, well-defined message.
Of course, if this is adopted as the official stance, an announcement would be made.
Actually, this gives me an idea... Maybe we all should come up with our version of a 100k Strong manifesto, and we vote on it, devroom-style?
Edit: Chris Hoffman made no statement on the amount of completion of the Prototype Version in the article - I just read it. Fixed the petition though. ^^
Also, on that note, it was a full article it turns out, not an entry in 'Download.'
And once again, Dashe, if you missed it in the petition description...

For Chris Hoffman and his statement on the completion of the Prototype, this might be a little more informative. It's from after the PV was cancelled; Mr. Hoffman goes into greater detail about what the Prototype was like in the article.

Thanks - back to editing the petition then I guess. This is a big help. Edit: Done!

So, to steer this thread back on track... How exactly would I get ahold of whoever I need to get ahold of?
Also, I don't intend to just put this through behind everyones' backs - in fact, I thought about it, and the idea of a devroom-style manifesto-writing contest actually makes a lot of sense.
In the end though, one part of this I want to keep the same is that once we hit 100,000 people, it should be hand-delivered to Capcom. And someone should either make it so the names of the group members are publicly viewable, or find a way to add all the member names to the petition once finalized, so we're more tangible than just a number.
Edit: and just to clarify, I put 'months' instead of 'weeks' initially because I somehow got 'June' and 'July' mixed up. Because I can be stupid like that. >>;

I've told Pixxel Papa to come check this out myself. He's in charge of International Strategies and the only 100k leader with an MMLS account. Right now, however, he's in the middle of watching a Very Important Hockey Game and will probably drop in within the next few days to respond. In the meantime, feel free to go play outside while it's nice out and all that jazz.
What does a Devroom-style writing contest have to do with a petition?

My thought with the writing comtest is that if it's a community-decided thing, it'd seem more honest than one person coming put of the blue and penning a petition, slipping it in behind everyone's back, as you put it.

It's not behind everyone's back if it's been on DA and MMLS for everyone to see for weeks!

Haha, only been a few days actually, but, point taken. Was just trying to address what sounded like a concern of yours.
Edit: friend of mine pointed something out - just changed 'literally nothing' to 'virtually nothing'.

What I mean about going behind people's back is that it's impossible to notify everyone in 100k that they've automatically been added to the petition. I'm pretty sure there will be at least a handful of barely-reasonable people who insist upon not wanting to be affiliated with it just because they are stubborn and like picking fights.

Ah, sorry. I get what you mean now. Should have thought of that myself, actually...
Regardless, I think I've come up with something that should please everyone. ;D
