they think of something or they could hold a contest and ask the fans to do the rest of the story which would be all jobs because other mega man might make confusing and place Zero somewhere in there again because they are really crazy about him for some odd reason.

We actually give Inafune too much credit, really.. I mean, given the time periods in which he has to think of stories, and series, n' such (it's not as if he writes it all at once...) I'm sure that many of us here at MMLS could have either come up with something similar, or even better. Just take a look at our theories and speculations in the elder system thread. We put about 30 seconds worth of pondering into those posts, and yet they're already bordering on creative-storyline material. He does deserve credit for having his ideas grow in time, yes, but consider the Classic MegaMan series. It's dreadful in story, up until MM8 (which was created much later) Quite possibly the most cliched story I've ever heard. Mad scientist wants revenge, so he tries and takes over the world. Yeah, THAT defines creativity... But as I said, Inafune's ideas have in fact expanded over the years. If you look back to MM8, you'll find that the evil/negative energy was brought to Earth. (the same energy used to create Bass) This energy is eventually used in the construction of Zero, to create the Zero Virus, which is soon passed on to Sigma (a little before the X series, as the flashback states from MM5) Sigma's virus develops into the "Sigma Virus", which is then considered a major threat by all Reploids, as it can infect a unit, and convert it to Maverick, instantaneously. Then on to when Zero "leaves", in MM5, I believe, as he finds out that the Zero Virus may in fact return and consume him completely. Blah blah blah, recovers during the Zero Series, and must fight off the enemies, whilst trying to uncover his past. Now you see how far that Evil energy went? It's amazing that Inafune linked the evil energy to the Zero Virus, but given the times of the creation of both X5 and MM8, I HIGHLY doubt that it was intentional. In other words, it was all dumb luck. Keiji Inafune struck lucky, when he found a way that he could make the perfect transitions, from MM, to MMX, to MMZ from X5, then later on, MML. He made it all work out in the end, all by luck. Also, I'm sure that he was helped by many other people, as video game writers tend to never work completely alone. So yeah, Inafune isn't really this "super genius" or "god" that some may refer to him as. He's actually pretty d**n average. Now you want GENIUS, you say LUCAS. Not only did he write them in chronological order, but he later on filmed and released the movies in a DIFFERENT order, in which he started in the middle, to the end, then released the earlier episodes. That, my friends, is what we call genius. Lucas > Inafune :-P

I think the fact that he's finally showing us any concern is sign enough that he's a good guy. I mean, from a realistic perspective, why in the world would he go back to a chummy little series back on the PSX when he's got at least 3 series to milk right now? The fact that he's recognized the fan base at all is a good sign to me. I had more to say... but I can't seem to put it right. Besides, about the games up to MM8: You've got to realize that these are 2D side scrollers. There's not going to be a lot of plot simply because of the genre. It's meant to be fast-paced without a lot of dialogue, and therefore, without a lot of story. But yeah, George Lucas is respectably awesome. XD

XD yea but Metal Gear had a story and that was on the NES too...wait as far as I know but I'm pretty sure. Mario had a story a simple one but still it had one.

AimMan, I understand that he should be considered a "good person". Look back on my post and you'll find that I was simply going against what everyone else was calling Inafune, which is a "genius". This is a bit too much recognition ... I mean come on, it seemed as if RockMan Trigger was absolutely blown away by Keiji's awesomeness. And as for what you said about the side scrollers, exactly. He stuck to the basic plot of side scrollers for a while, and kept the story simple, and not complex. This shows that he was pretty much following in the footsteps of Super Mario, and not putting too much effort into establishing a good and solid story. He kept it extremely basic. Then like rage said, games such as Metal Gear, which were also being created at this time, had stories that were a bit more complicated to understand than that of MegaMan's. But read back on my post, and you'll find that I said that Inafune became a bit more innovative over the years. Starting from MM8 and on, the series maintained the side-scrolling genre whilst having a deeper storyline to it. Even MegaMan Zero is a platformer, and it too has an amazingly well written story line. So despite the fact that he has become quite the creative character over time, I still doubt that he's deserving of the title of genius

Of course Keiji doesn't deserver the title genius...Wait I said that but a lot of games had a simple plot just like Mega man but now have great storylines and backgrounds and stuff for example the Legend of Zelda games it pretty simple "Save the priness" just like in Mega man "save the world from EVIL"

If Trigger is a complete clone of X, why can he get out of his suit? (I'm refering to the intro scene of MML2)
