And a crazy-good xylophone player. I've been thinking about doing a guitars cover of the Fusion CD Sample for awhile now, but then I got to thinking: Wouldn't be cool if some Legends fans got together and did a collaboration? It'd be cool to make a video out of it (but I wouldn't be able to edit the video, because my computer setup does not allow it). Song is this: www.legends-station.com/mml1/music/cd-fusion.mp3Is there anyone out there who likes the song enough to collab with me? I can even put together sheet music for those who need it. I've already midified the song years ago. So far, the arrangement is as follows: Rhythm SectionBass - SketchMan3 (unless there's a competent bassist who'd want to take the spot) Rhythm Guitar - SketchMan3 Drums - There's room for a pianist also, though I haven't put much thought into that, nor have I transcribed it (which is why I never uploaded it to vgmusic.com). You're on your own with that. Lead InstrumentsFlute (or any similar sounding woodwind e.g. ocarina, pan flute.) - Whistler - (I think it'd be a great touch to have real live whistling for this part) Vibraphone/Xylophone/Marimba/ etc. - (Warning killer soloing skills required) This is just an idea, and if there are no appropriate musicians available, I'll just go ahead with the guitar cover (that vibraphone solo's gonna kill me though, haha... ) I was thinking about expanding on the tune after the fade out, with a drum solo and maybe MAYBE a bass solo. So, what do you guys think? Any takers?

Eh, the fusion CD was my least favorite. Too much like Smooth Jazz.

The fusion CD track was my favourite from that store. I would go in there and listen to it over and over again. I'd be glad to offer help by playing the flute if no one else wants that part.

Eh, the fusion CD was my least favorite. Too much like Smooth Jazz. Yay, a response. At least now I have an idea of what the general opinion might possibly be. I didn't really have any bias for or against Smooth Jazz when I first heard the song. I generally can't stand Smooth Jazz, but I love this song. At least it actually uses the proper "swing time" jazz rhythm in the bridge. That by itself takes it out of the hip-hop beat driven style of Smooth Jazz (which I can't stand) for me. But I've definitely never heard this form of Jazz Fusion anywhere else. All the others I've heard were fused with rock. Thanks for the response.

I'm a flautist, but I admit I'm not an excellent one. I can at least pull off some classic songs, but I can't pull pro stuff like my friend does with his violin.
I would help you, but I admit that I haven't heard the song yet and I should hear it first before committing myself to something that I probably not able to pull off. The problem is that right now in a country and/or place with a horrifically slow and pricey Internet connection, so I can't download it from here. I'll be on touch once I come back.

Woohoo! Genuine interest! I guess it's true that there's no such thing as bad publicity. =D I guess if you can't download that mp3, posting the youtube link wouldn't help either. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq7vFPnK9-AAs far as being an amazing flutist... I don't think this song requires virtuoso playing. As long as you have passable tone, it should be fine. I won't make anything final until I see if there's anybody else out there who's interested. I can't really be too picky, as I'm not the greatest guitarist/musician in the world myself.
