Protodude's latest blog entry features an article on the devroom, including a summary of an interview with jgonzo about the operation. Check it out here! From what I've seen in the devroom itself, I can't really agree 100% with it, but it does bring up a lot of good points about it.

Wow, that was beautiful. I read the entire article and I love the reassurance it gives. As far as Legends goes, the fact that it was pretty much an unknown series up until now, I'd say Capcom's doing rather well with getting the word out. Words cannot describe it.

I just skimmed through it, but it appears to be assuring.
Rather I mostly read the site's comments. Lawl, people are just never going to be happy.

It was an interesting read and did hit some high points of the devroom. I don't know if I fully agree with there being complete (or near complete) transparency (remember that shocker "the game isn't greenlit yet). I also certainly see PR having an influence on what we see and seemingly in conflict with the devteam (who do seem to want to be fairly open) over some issues. Remember how it seemed Eguchi needed to pull some strings to get beta shots released?
So while I think the dev team is trying to use the devroom to build a better game and educate the fans on the development process I also think that PR and marketing see it as an extended marketing ploy.
Alas, I also think that the Japanese devroom has greater influence on the developers than the English one due to the language barrier. While the Japanese fan's input can be read directly by team members, Greg has to translate anything going on in the English side and certainly he cannot do every individual post but instead has to focus on overall larger trends.
