15 dollars is actually pretty cheap compared to most other games. Heck, I think I pay more than that for manga.

I think you should grab it. I feel the issues some of us have with the version we got may not manifest on that copy.
A factor is if you are willing to replay the game again after beating it many times. But it is worth playing it for the higher quality visuals.

15 bucks is not bad to me. And hey, it's fueling popularity for MML, so we should all be happy.

Sadly this isn't available anymore I don't remember the exact date but it was a few weeks ago. Don't know why it would get pulled from their site, seems kind of pointless. Well I'm sure one can find another place to get MML as a digital download.

Any digital distribution for MML 1 or 2 will always get taken down. Have none of you been around for the fans asking for MML to be put on the PSN?
It's a problem with the Voice Actors contracts and how digital distribution was not covered. It's a silly little technicality, but it is what it is.

Yeah well, old technology mate, on a new, crappy OS, there isn't much you can do about it.
...No wait, actually you can. Ever thought of using a virtual machine? In a nutshell, you open an application which in turns opens a previous windows inside your own windows, then run the game from there. Even if the game cocks the OS up, you can simply close the virtual machine.

Yeah, MML PC had issues installing on Vista 32-bit on my end. Maybe it does that on Windows 7.
What I did was do the install on a Windows XP netbook and copy the files over to my Vista notebook. It complicates stuff (no desktop shortcuts, Add or remove programs entry, etc.) but it should play just fine from what folder you put it (except for Program Files). Or maybe you can also do the installation on said Virtual Machine and copy it.
But that was with a disc. I don't know how it goes with an online download.

It's basically the same thing, you're using all the features of your cpu like hardware and the like, only on a virtual Os inside the original OS. I honestly reccomend that more than anything else.

What CPU speed would you recommend, Hermit Crab?
I have an i5 at 2.66 GHz and 4 GB Ram and I run windows 7 on VMWare Player to bearable speed (I haven't tried doing media tasks on the VM).
It's a Win7 x64-equipped laptop.

That's more than enough. Problem is not really the RAM (though it always helps), the problem is always the processor. I'm using a veeery old laptop to kill time in the uni while teachers are talking, and i can run legends 1 and 2 extremely well, and trust me, the laptop is a magnificent turd.
Intel atom processor 1.66GHz (the definition of "bottom of the food chain when it comes to intel processors") 1 gb ram Windows XP service pack 2 160gb hard disk My video card is called "Graphics Media Accelerator", it doesn't even have a real name.
...And it still runs them fine. PsOne is already old technology, so what i above exaggerated as the shittiest of the shit in laptops is actually a decent contender compared with the psOne. Your lappy is much superior, so i don't see why you would have a problem, except for the only thing my lappy is much, much, much superior to yours:
You are using windows 7. I am using XP. It's like comparing two stick houses where glue was used for one and play-do for the other. I'd reccomend just playing the PsOne versions (if you cannot get them physically, there is ALWAYS the alternative of just downloading a working iso from anywhere, no one will judge you if you mooch $15 from capcom, though sharing links is illegal so you're on your own to where to find them).

The mouse pointer on my Windows 7 virtual machine can get jerky at times.
And my main Win 7 is an OEM one from Sony. Never have I seen so much pre-installed applications (and lots of folders on my c: root) that duplicate Windows functions, only more annoying. I'll live with it, instead of shelling for a retail version, since searching for drivers would be a headache.
For MML, I typically prefer the PC version since the graphics have been touched up and my emulator's input settings give some keymapping problems (like not being able to walk to the right while shooting), although it has some keymapping problems of its own as well.
I wouldn't advise playing with the default settings on a non-full size keyboard. Just try the Jet Skate minigame.
