Recently I won some posable Mega Man Legends models off of eBay.:08: With the addition of Pandm101's wonderful papercraft collection and my After Effects wizardry, I think I could create some pretty sick looking stop animation.:28: My current main issue is content. I haven't really come up with anything in a while, I've never liked writing scripts. This morning I took out a composition notebook and started writing down random words and topics that came to my head. By the end of school today I plan on finalizing a very short script for a teaser I'll make today. Here are my current scribblings: - Kobun rubber sandwich kicker healthcare:19:
- French crepe stand paper tree falling:32:
- Discussing communism in relation to the economy of eggs:16:
- Handsome Spanish archer assassin with Gingivitis:05:
Ok, that last one just came to me as I was typing this. Perhaps this writing thing will be easier than I thought!

Sorry I didn't get the teaser out today like I said I would. I got some good progress on a Legends Station animated opener though.

All of those special effects look like beginners stuff but... HOW ON EARTH DOES HE GET HIS MODELS TO GO IN THOSE POSITIONS WITHOUT COMPLETELY FALLING OVER!? I saw something else of his a few days ago with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee from Transformers and it was the same deal, the models were in positions that seemed like they wouldn't be able to hold.
Edit: From those two little clips at the end it looks like he does a lot of propping and then removed those articles in post which is a tedious pain in the arse. Well, I'm sure it was worth it.

The models stay up using a common method in stop motion called the tie down method. Basically you you poke holes in a board and hold down the model with screws that you edit out of the movie. like this: In the video, the animator used clear tape to hold it down. I've done some stop motion myself, I even have a few books on the subject. The funny thing is, i had a dream just last week about a stop notion Megaman Legends type thing. Megaman and Roll were shrunk down to the size of ants and had to save the Bonnes from ant-like people.

That's pretty good, doesn't lag and I see no imperfections, of course it's like what five seconds long, even if there were any you couldn't tell. Looks pretty epic, awesome job.

I hadn't thought about music. I think they'll be mostly comedic so no need for a ton of emphasis on music. I'll definitely make some tweaks to that opener. The eye I'm satisfied with, but the rest was thrown together for the most part so I'll do a lot of improving on that. I'm rendering a long version right now. The animations themselves won't come until I've got a decent script. I haven't written one in a long time since I've been so busy with local TV and sporting events, so I started a notebook for ideas. Update: The long version is viewable here: docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B2ajE97AX8GWYmIyYWM4ZjQtZWU1YS00MzQwLTg4ZWUtZWQ0Y2Q3OWFkMWM3&hl=enAlso, I've started a script and will film tomorrow.

Wow, that is quite cool, Qwertman. A bit, er, 'hardcore'-looking for MML ( ), but it's definitely well-made. Now I'm curious as to what the animation itself will be like...keep it up, Qwert! : )

After Effects. Sorry I haven't gotten around to doing these animations. I've been writing scripts but I haven't had time to fulfill them (my clients want a lot of work done with new menus and such, that's taking up a lot of my time).
Blues, you're kind of right. That's supposed to look like it's in a dungeon of sorts. Perhaps I'll make another version where the background is blue sky and endless water.
