I've never noticed how cylinder-shaped the fingers in those gloves were. I can't help but look at my own hand and flex my fingers for comparison. It feels weird. Especially since the thumb also has three different segments when they are not necessary.
I don't know, maybe the simple fact that the thumb has only two joints and the other fingers have four makes me wonder how Rock can move his hand properly. Not to mention that the glove is bulgy and it has that weird square indentation on the side of the palm.

I didn't really notice the cylinder-effect on his hands either, but I don't really pay much attention to things like that. I'd pin it on the fact that Megaman's supposed to be slightly more robotic than other diggers, so he's allowed to have extra joints.

(Mostly) for visual's sake though, I just decided to handwave (ha ha) this as the way Halcyon Days advanced protective wear is designed, even if they make little sense realistically. As a side note, though we all know that there are several characters who have similar armor (or even actual prosthetics) of their own styling in the games, in RMDL it is only Rock who has energy reactive protection based on the first game's shielding mechanics (if that made sense). In a way it's a fitting armor for a main character (i.e. it has plot armor).

He's shown to have the correct amount of joints in a lot of Capcom content except... well... In Megaman's Final Smash for 3DS / Wii U, he appears to have the extra joints, but that may very well be because they were incredibly lazy with rendering his hand, as well as with any sort of animation. All of Megaman's models are as solid as a rock during the final smash, and they never move, outside of Classic Megaman. Trigger's hand looks as blocky as the fist that he's always having to make due to Playstation limitations. In Namco X Capcom and elsewhere though, he appears to have the correct amount, unless I missed something. We'll call this a Rockman DASH Legends thing though.

Maybe I'll slowly nudge the art closer to more believable fingers, or give the excuse for an upgrade or something. Well I wouldn't want to be inaccurate, now... Though seriously, thanks for the heads-up on the iScribble chat earlier. I'll pay more attention to the details (as the next pages will hopefully fulfill!). Update: Yeah, don't worry about anything coppers. Your little guns do nothing and your rockets cause more damage to the buildings which I have to pay for in the post-mission sidequests so be good and get out of the way...

And now I cannot look at Rock's glove and think that there isn't a domino piece stuck in his palm. Thanks HF.
And only now it dawned on me that the Police helmets don't let you see the officer's eyes. In the game I thought it was because they were that big but in the comic you are purposely shading that area. Also maybe it's just me but you could put a footnote every now and then for an explanation on the onomatopoeia in the frames. Maybe it's because you are emulating manga-style that those are not in English? Or are they just random scribbles?

Hah, I'm more wondering what happened to the guy in your preview image's shoulder than anything else now! I'm not entirely convinced that's Mega Man in there because of that one missing joint.

And now I cannot look at Rock's glove and think that there isn't a domino piece stuck in his palm. Thanks HF. Given what we've seen so far, Rock might be terrible at maths and counting. I wanted to give them a bit of the generic imperial soldiers look from FFVI, though maybe I went a little too far with the face shading now that you mention it (so thanks!). Next page will mark the end of Chapter 2, so here's to some art evolution in Chapter 3...!? I remember you mentioning them before, and it got me thinking; if adding the sound effect explanations mean more than I think they do (which seems to be the case), I can whip up a couple of them for preview here over the weekend.

I thinl the shading is actually a cool features and a really neat way to have approached the eyelessness. It would be pretty funny if it was like a bucket on their heads.
So where did rock go to get suited up? Also what are these poses your facebook refers to?

I think the shading is actually a cool features and a really neat way to have approached the eyelessness. If I go too far with the shading, it feels as if I would make them look like the bad guys instead. If anything, it would be anywhere he won't be having 'accidents' again (as according to the games, isn't that for Tron or Roll?). Just some subtle additions I make attempts to put in now and then: In hindsight it sucked though. MORE PRACTICE REQUIRED. :/

It's a bit interesting how much younger the real Rock looks in comparison to the RMDL Rock. Smaller chest and all too.

The concept art of Rock has him looking alot more sassy than he ever really is in game. RMDL's Rock is actually pretty sassy too, but more like self confident and sarcastic. I couldnt really imagine you rock in that exact pose. The fist pump is right up his alley though.

Uh... did I? ... Now this is going to nag me for the rest of my life. *one hour after* By the way is there any meaning to those symbols next of our "Dommie"? Because I've always seen stuff like that in mangas and I think they are related with sound... Also what are those sound effects? I am used to see the translation in a corner of the page... : P Uhhh... I guess I did. And twice on top of that. Then again, when I read Manga the scanlators usually have those "T/N" notes at the corners of the page in a small enough font to not disturb the reading. Either that or translating the effects themselves which slows their update rate (and sometimes page quality). Hmm... that side-by-side comparison made me realize how skinny Megs is in the artwork. Skeletical-level skinny. I always had this thought that for example the female characters from the Winx Club cartoon could easily grasp their waists with a single hand like they were holding glasses. I now see the same thing here. After a second check on other examples it really dawned on me how the trend continue, not to mention that the shoulder joints are always huge and he barely has a neck. He doesn't look like that in any in-game appearances though (even the large mugshots from Namco x Capcom) P.S. - Also, here is a warning. tread carefully when you look on your earlier posts. You might want to punch yourself later.

Either that or translating the effects themselves which slows their update rate (and sometimes page quality). I know I've been putting this off for quite a while, so sorry for not delivering some samples as promised a couple of times. I'll have a closer look at the way some scanlators do this, and see what I can come up with. I think I remember why I wanted to aim for more 'realistic' proportions and features; doing so otherwise would make him look weird when naked. Another reason why I insisted on not going for the "body augmentations" route like in some of the concept art is to downplay the body horror aspects, and to show off more of these shots later on. Hm? In what sense do you mean? Update: END OF CHAPTER 2! Thanks to everyone for reading and putting up with my slow schedule! RMDL Chapter 3 has been cancelled, sorry! I'll hopefully see you guys sometime elsewhere! 奪 DEAD ON!!is in the drafting stages, and I hope everyone is looking forward to it as much as I'm excited to put on a good show as this lone hero fights against everything that kills you early in the game!

Too soon for cancellation jokes! TOO! SOON! I like the Japanese sound effects. They don't actually look like sound effects, just regular effects, since I don't actually know what they mean. I personally don't care to, since I like how they don't look like words to me. I'd include a translation key in the reference section for it for anyone interested in learning them if it were me making this, so it's a completely optional option. The whole site is full of optional reference material.
