Love the new look for your site, HF. I like the Encyclopedia as it would help those that aren't familiar with the Legends/ DASH series.
Looks like the gang had finally crashed on Kattelox Island, heh? Like how you've shown it happen from the outside of the Flutter.

@ Loken: I would like to have something compehensive like that, of course! The only real obstacle is finding the time to work on it properly.
@ Dashe: I have actually been making my updates around Tuesday evenings lately. This is such that I can avoid proofchecking updates and the site itself while rushing out in the mornings.
Just out of curiosity, do you print the pages with the "borderless" settings?
@ Steffie: Then you'll like this.
Update: DOUBLE PAGE TIME! Did I mention that I like things dynamic?

I must say. You're really good at drawing effects and inanimate objects.

I've been printing them as borderlessly as American page dimensions allow me to, which isn't very borderlessly. I have about 1.25 cm on either side.
What are your plans for the immediate future? Are you going to focus on compiling more extra stuff for the rest of the site, jump right into Chapter 1, or take some time to get a few buffer pages in queue so you're not under the gun?

Oh man HF, my dads PC just got a new back ground! ;D Chapter Complete! And what a chapter it was. Looking forward to stepping out into kattelox! Dashe, Are you going to compile all your printouts into comic form? If so you post picture of it when it's done.

Man, but it's really awkward to always be thrown to the latest page whenever I click the "comic" link. I guess this is because the entire comic is held on 1 webpage, rather than each page of the comic being a separate page.
Oh well. I suppose it's a technical triumph to have it set up that way, but it just makes for awkward browsing, especially when you've missed a page or two.

@ Dashe: I'm still working on it, but the first page of Chapter 1 is ready to go on the next comic update.
In relevance to Project RMDL (as I may as well call it), the top priority is ultimately the comic content itself, at least in the meantime.
@ sketchman3: I don't understand what you mean; the "Comic" link is supposed to go to the latest comic for easy sequential access from other pages.
The drop-menus are there to navigate to different pages (and eventually to different chapters) directly, so I don't see what the problem is. Otherwise, please elaborate on your feedback a little more.

The problem for me is that if, for example, I just started reading the comic now, when I click the link I'm immediately thrown to a potential spoiler page, and there is NO way to avoid that. I can't follow a link to the first page. I can't set a bookmark to the last page that I read. It's just... inconvenient.

@ sketchman3: To some extent, I can understand what you're getting at there.
However, I have always intended the "Comic" link to show the latest page regardless. Even if there are only a few regular readers (I think) of the comic, I can't quite keep track of everyone's 'reading status' now, can I?
What I would like to and can do, however, is make the comic section reload per new page. This way, the page currently being viewed would stay the same even if the reader (accidentally?) refreshes the page.
Edit: Alright, I've completed the modifications! What do you think?

I understand your wanting the "Comic" link to show the latest page. I haven't seen a webcomic that doesn't. That's standard. I just wish there was a way to link to specific pages without having to start at the last page and then navigate back. You wouldn't have to keep track of everybody's reading status if each comic "strip" had it's own individual webpage. The problem I see with that is, if you intend to keep your site small, creating a new webpage for every page of the comic would increase the size quite a bit, I'd imagine, and make maintenance more cumbersome. But yeah, reloading the page sounds like a good idea, I think; though it could slow things down a little. Would that cooperate with, say, the Session Restore feature in Firefox? I'm wondering if Firefox would be able to remember the status of the page to such an extent that if I closed the webpage, and then restored it, if it would restore back to the same comic page... Of course, you could throw a "Title Page/Spoiler Avoider Page" to the end of every new update as the "last" page. But that would just be silly =P. One good thing about webcomics is that you don't have to crack open the book. haha

What if you had a separate link to the comic's archives right on the first page as well, so you could pick the chapter you start from, or a New Readers Start Here button that takes you straight to the first page, or both?

That's a very good point, sketchman3. Anyone, particularly new visitors, don't want to be sent to the middle of an ongoing comic. Have you considered using a cookie, HF? You could set the Comic page's default value to the beginning page and then have the cookie update itself whenever someone looks at another page of the Comic. When they come back to the site and return to the Comic page, they'd be taken to the last comic page they looked at and could proceed from there.

@ fAB: I have actually thought about the cookie method you mentioned earlier when sketchman3 mentioned the problem.
But as this is clearly a design flaw of the User Interface, I believe it is best to come up with a method of resolving it without having to rely on user-side support (in this case, cookies). It is unlikely to be of any relevance to those with personal workstations, but "you got spoiled because you don't have a cookie on your system" isn't the right thing to do as a Web Developer.
@ Dashe: Now that the all the pages have been indexed, I have far more options for comic navigation. The real obstacle is ultimately the presentation.
Either way, I agree with sketchman3's suggestion regarding giving more viewer navigation options. I will think this over and come up with a good way to resolve this.

@ Truner: Except that would mean having to remove the section descriptions, and any location otherwise doesn't present well. I don't want to compromise the descriptions, but would still want to make the menu bar provide more accessibility around the site to prevent "clicking several times to reach a section".
But like I said, I'll think of something.

Site Update: Alright, it's done.
I got a functional drop menu bar made for the Comic section, as well as a Story/Archive section for easier access. Best of all, I can probably reuse this method for other sections easily...
Please provide feedback!
Update: There seems to be some refresh issues with the headers. I am working on it right now.
