洛克人DASH拯救地球大冒险also known as'To Save The World', and 'Adventure Tour' I've apparently been featured on Protodude's Blog. Kick-ass.Rockman DASH: Adventure To Save The Planet, commonly known as To Save The World Adventure as translated by The Mechanical Maniacs, has been one of those odd games that many of us have known about, but none of us have actually had the opportunity to experience. Produced in 1998/99 by a Taiwanese outfit named Strawberry Software Inc. and New Skill C&C Corp. with an official license from Capcom, this little gem has been all but forgotten to the fanbase, who have focused on other hard-to-gets like the Japanese cellphone games, or the PC and PSP ports of MML1 and MML2. I am pleased to announce that we can now peer a little closer and deeper into this estranged chapter of the Legends series, for better or worse, as I've been able to find a copy of the game, or at least, the first disc of what is in fact a two-disc game. While the game is called 'Rockman DASH: Adventure To Save The Planet' on the cover, the installer and shortcuts refer to the game as "Rockman DASH Adventure Tour". Introductory Video
Main Menu
The premise of this game is apparently so - Teisel has set up bombs (I think) throughout a city, and Trigger must go around and deactivate them. Once he approaches one, he is given a Manda-style quiz, where he must answer 4 questions within a strict timelimit; if he fails, you lose and you have to restart from your last save. Westerners Need Not Apply The city itself roughly approximates Legends gameplay, with the distinct lack of a buster, or interacting with trashcans, or people, or fun.. Capcom-sponsored Fangame
This seems to be more of an arcade experience; there's a high score board, and a visible counter, although I can't confirm this because I fail at quiz time.
FUN UPDATE! There's 511 questions to the trivia game, and they're all just as contrived as the Mayor's test in MML2. Try this on for size: 'EDVAC' was a very early computer from the 50s. I'm not entirely sure what the question is, but if it's referencing this, the scope of the material being asked is far, FAR more obscure than what was ever demanded by the Mayor.
Aside from the punishing main game, there's a games room with 5 games in it. It's almost like a proto Sky Arcade! Going counter-clockwise around the room, first up we have... Sokoban, represented by a crate. The Legends Crate Puzzle That Predates MOTB
2nd, represented with a zakobon...we have...what's this... an actual digout in a ruin?!Reaverbots Only A Mother Unit Could Love
No, you don't get a buster, but since the bots never actually become aggressive, you can get by them by timing their strict, rigid patrols. Incidentally, I'm dubbing the game's contribution - a new bonne mech hybrid, no less - the Feldeopordo. Because that's what it is. Has to be seen to be believed. 3rd up, we have...a slimmed down knock off of Chu Chu Rocket, represented by a kobun on a sled/rocket/thing. Kobun Riding Rockets...Completely Unheard Of!
4th, represented by a Kobun, we have the old classroom standard Dots And Squares...that game everyone's played on grid paper. Surprise, it's 2 player compatible! The Multiplayer Aspect Of The Game
Lastly, we have...this really weird Rail Shooter. You're strapped to a gyro-platform-thing and travel along a track, dodging bombs and reaverbots while collecting zenny. Game gets vicious quickly. At Least His Buster Is Finally Working
and so...there you have it. That's...pretty much the entire game, bar a few options screens and such. In conclusion, what is this I don't even.

Man, I'm loving this. That comic is probably the best summary of the game there is. I guess the next step is you to learn mandarin, then we'll get the second installment in 4-5 years.

Man, Chiz that's quite a find. As someone who could barely fake his way through one ten question quiz in Japanese, I've got to say, good luck making your way through this mess. o__o At least it looks like they show you the right answer when you get one wrong, so you've got that. You can cheat. That intro video is hilarious in the most awesome of ways. And that city looks pretty neat. Can't wait to see more of this.

Holy crap, that looks amazingly terrible. But it's got Teisel in it, and I haven't seen Teisel have a significant role in a game I haven't watched all of since 2000, so that makes up for the shoddy graphics, the sluggish-looking gameplay, the outer space-ness, and the fact that I will probably never be able to really understand what either of them are saying. Excellent work, Chiz. You get a gold star.

Those bomb countdowns... I could not stop laughing no matter how hard I tried. The main screen reminds me of Tomb Raider, but I'd reckon TR came out better. *sweatdrop* It seems you managed to find the "controls help" but it's a shame it gets you nowhere. All in all, I think it was pretty well-done. What Dashe said was completely true as well. Can't wait to see more and how you'll cope with those questions. I wonder what kinds of categories they're supposed to be...

More videos! More content! More lulz!
I've now covered the entire minigame room, the "second half" to the game. It's not just trivia, go figure.

∗finishes watching∗
Man, that was something else... Just about every one of these videos made my head hurt. (especially the last one) I can't imagine actually playing through them, but still, pretty interesting stuff. And simulating common mini-games with Legends characters certainly does seem like something you'd find in a fan-game. >.< I tried to sit through all of them, but my attention span gave out toward the end of the Chu Chu Rocket one and the Grid Puzzle one.. :06: Though the little ruin exploration one looked interesting. I rather liked that one. But yeah. Awesome coverage on these things, Chiz. Great stuff.
Man, and you were not kidding about Feldeopordo. :24: Totally not. That made my night.
My thoughts exactly.
EDIT: Oh hey, and massive congrats on getting featured on Protodude's.

Teisel should've taken on the Potke Mayor back in Legends 2. He could've won a shiny new Zetsabre!

I guess the next step is you to learn mandarin, then we'll get the second installment in 4-5 years. I'll get right on that. At least it looks like they show you the right answer when you get one wrong, so you've got that. You can cheat. And cheat I will. Once I've rigged the quizzes to always show me the right answer, I'll have a full video of the main game portion. The main screen reminds me of Tomb Raider, but I'd reckon TR came out better. *sweatdrop* It's funny...I've actually got Tomb Raider set up on my machine right now and am giving the original series another playthrough for nostalgia's sake. The resemblance was not lost on me. It seems you managed to find the "controls help" but it's a shame it gets you nowhere. The damnest part is, is that they keep changing the controls between sections. There isn't much of a unified control set. Just about every one of these videos made my head hurt. ( especially the last one) I can't imagine actually playing through them As someone who's exposed himself to numerous bad games for the sake of others' entertainment, I'm happy to report that my tolerance is a little higher, and my senses a little deader, to this sort of thing. Very little of it is actually painful once you've established the controls...it's just incredibly shoddy-looking. Man, and you were not kidding about Feldeopordo. :24: Totally not. That made my night. Would I make up such a thing? I can only wonder what other freaky bots can be glimpsed in future levels; I'll keep pushing and see if I can capture the later levels. How did you, where, how, when, where? Holy crap, that looks amazingly terrible. Excellent work, Chiz. You get a gold star. Wow just wow this made my night. I am laughing so hard at this. Awesome coverage on these things, Chiz. Great stuff. Thanks, everyone. Once I get a newer computer, I'll be rerecording most of this stuff at 640x480 instead of 320x240. For now, though, the low-res and mildly desynched videos will have to do. Better than the nothing we've had for the last 12 years, right?

Wow, this is just...wow. How did you even...where did you even...why is Mega Man on a space station?! :24: Very nice find! I'd heard the title of this before, but never had any clue what it was. And yeah, that menu is very reminiscent of Tomb Raider. The hub room is also very familiar.

I'm just about as excited to see this as I was when I found the videos of the MML2 japanese demo disk on Youtube.
In other news: I would PAY you for an ISO upload. Even though I know it's against the rules.

This is not... what? I can't believe I watched all that! Did you see Teisel's spaceship? Worst spaceship ever. And the the game doesn't even take place on the spacestation! Also, GAME OVER!!! That sounded devilish. Thank you Chiz for... exposing us to this !
