I just finished the rest of them, and the quiz was still by far the greatest. Never woulda thought Zakobuns would ever be THAT dangerous... If Tau hadn't beaten me to the Crash reference, I probably would have pointed that out as well. ...Did I REALLY just watch all of that? :01: I'm just going to keep the rest of my comments to myself, for Legends' sake.

Thank you very much for reviewing this game. I had heard about it before and had wondered how it really did fare compared to the other games.

Trigger is either TO.BMP or TO2.BMP. And yes, the entire game really is a loose collection of files. The textures and sprites are all BMP, and the models are all .X files (produced from a 3DS-to-X converter, conv3ds.exe). Audio is .WAVs. Producing an English version would be trivial, because there no actual written text anywhere, only text in those sprites and textures. Each trivia question is its own BMP with a set arrangement of answers (unlike Mayor's quiz, which I think may have randomized the order?). All of the control screens are large BMPs too, so changing them to reflect the actual controls of the game (instead of whatever they are now) is also possible. Also note: Each section of the game has its own folder. Main Menu is GAMEMENU, Trivia is ASK, Gameroom Hub is SCENE, Sokoban is PUSH, Digout is PCMAN, Chu Chu is AUTO, Dots & Squares is OCCUPY, Rail Shooter is CAVE. Pause menu, Gameover, etc is in COMMON, video files in VIDEO, and all of the sound effects in WAVE (all of Chinese Teisel reading trivia questions in WAVE/QUESTION). I'd love to participate in a translation effort, but I've got enough on my plate for 12 of me, and there's nothing here that requires any special talent; just solid glyph identification software, a translation program, and a bit of common sense. Looking forward to a patch!

Each trivia question is its own BMP with a set arrangement of answers (unlike Mayor's quiz, which I think may have randomized the order?). Nah, the Mayor's quiz questions' answers are in a fixed order. The only thing that varies is the order in which she asks the questions; and even that comes from some fixed set itself. Was the Mayor's Quiz directly translated from the Japanese version? I can't say for certain, but I know at least a few questions were. (The “which of these is a programming language?” (Basic) one is the only one I actually remember, but I know it was in there) Fun fact: for the PSP version they even added a few new questions. One of the questions appeared to be about the size of a UMD, and another one I'm told was about the X series. There may've been even more, but those are the only two I remember hearing about.

I think, since there are so many questions on the quiz anyway, that we should just make a giant ongoing public MMLS event out of it. All you need are 500 three-answer multiple-choice questions with one correct answer, right?
If you could get them all to actually be relevant to the Legends universe, THAT would be amazing. With that in mind, it would definitely be more conducive to the effort to make it a big public forum event than to work in a smaller, private group. We've tried a lot of 'working in small private groups to create projects' attempts before. It hardly ever works out. The only people who've had any success with it were fAB and Blyka, and they're brothers, so they have an advantage.
I think the biggest success we've had as a forum was the Seeteufel. It was presented as a public event, and pretty much every member had the opportunity to work on it, even if it was just a small addition. Nobody was forced to work on it, but the people who did want to work on it hopped on the bandwagon and did a great job with it. Plus, you just can't beat that feeling of community you get when you put your heads together and work on a big project.
Especially if working on the project means getting 500 quiz questions. That's a lot for even ten people to commit to.

All you need are 500 three-answer multiple-choice questions with one correct answer, right? You'd also need to know which answer on each of the 500+ questions is the correct one (creating a crib sheet from dozens if not hundreds of playthroughs) so that the answers could be ordered correctly. We'd also need a voice actor, because each of the 511 questions are read by Chinese Teisel. That's right - Adventure may very well have the most voice-acted dialogue in the series just because of this.

Is it possible to count how many questions there are in the set that have A as a correct answer, how many have B as a correct answer, and how many have C as a correct answer?

Step 1) Alter all 511 BMPs to just be a giant number (their filename) Step 2) Play game dozens/hundreds of times Step 3) During playthroughs, write down the correct answer for each 'number' as it appears Step 4) Step 5) Profit. That's how I'd do it.

I can barely believe this thread went from
1. A space station? 2. bombs? 3. 511 Jap quiz? 4. ...Zakoderp? 5. Other unrelated crap that really shouldn't be in the game?
To Chiz's list above. lol
...Wait what are we doing this for again? Legends? Trigger? Both? O.o
Truner's suggestion looks like the only "realistic" one to me.

Basically, Truner wants to translate the game into English. I think it'd be a pretty nice public project to tackle since MMLeX is dead and the Bonne Mecha contest is over. We could use another big teambuilding thing...and the thought of having a patch of the game in English after all this time seems like a nice reward for the effort--like translating Five-Island. Right now the thread's skipped to how to completely change the quiz questions so they're in English, and preferably relevant to Legends. If all the questions were Legends-related, it might help n00bs to the series actually learn something about the games, even!

Would that face texture even fit on the model?

I am down to contribute Legends questions, I'm a trivia master! Once you get this figured out post a RMDTSTW Legends trivia thread.

I'll probably just cover MML1 material for now since I don't have MML2 ATM and it's a bit rusty in my mind. Or I could watch a LP of it, if there is one. Edit: If there is gonna be an open thread for questions, how are we gonna post answers to questions without ruining the game?
