Wow, Roll's a real jerk in #1- even Tron wouldn't say something like that in the games. #2 has an excellent 'reversal' (I think there's a name for the actual instance, but I've forgotten it) on Roll's most famous 'captain obvious' statement- very clever! Roll is surprisingly paranoid and skeptical in #3- perhaps it's her that should have the dark armor there. :12: Mega Man's 'honest statement not holding up' routine in #4 is interesting, but then comes the punchline- Roll and the priest working together just sounds like all kinds of bad news. XD I almost imagine Rock's line in panel three in a sarcastic tone, and Roll's is very, er, demanding to say the least in panel four- I know it's for the sake of a joke, but the characterization here is kind of off-putting for me. Overall, #2's smart-reversal punchline stands out the most to me this week.

#1's all right, but it doesn't really make use of the dark-light aspect. #2 was only mildly interesting until the final panel. Roll using her own quote that way was golden. #3... I liked Megaman trying to blame the light bulb, but the rest didn't grab me. #4 is like #2 in that it's only so-so until it whips out a killer fourth panel. #5, gotta love the endless parade of Apricot Pie humor.
And fAB's vote goes to... #4, for the hilarious concept of Roll teaming up with the priest to catch Megaman, and for taking full advantage of the dark-light angle.

I'm going to vote for #3, because Roll totally would get a Jacuzzi and tanning bed for herself the Flutter.

Gotta give it to #2. Never has Roll saying "Do you see a DOOR?" had such witty sarcasm behind it. For the record, the main reason for the white void was because I was tired of drawing backgrounds after doing the library and bar scenes (I originally figured Images 59 and 60 would go up the other way around so the whole thing would wrap up with good old Rock and Roll). I can appreciate someone poking fun at the lazy background though.
Also for the record: I didn't send in word balloon placements for these last two so figuring out the script is as tough for me as anyone else. I still need to send in my last entry, and there's not much time left to do so. Chances for points are dwindling fast.

Tough choice between #2 and #4... but I think I'll have to go with #4. The build-up was only so-so, but the punch line pulled it together beautifully. And of course, Yosyonke Priest humor is for the win.

Grrrr. View from the top. :33: Ah well. I had fun while it lasted. Such a shame to see it end... especially when the implied "0" at the beginning of the image numbers led me to believe it'd stick around much longer than this. :17: My vote for the last image goes to #5, because of how it puts so much emphasis on the punch panel. I love it. Cheers, MCC.

It's been over a year, it had a good run. It's actually kinda hard to believe it's been that long already. Feels great having clawed my way to a level 4 badge in the end, and because I'm still feeling uncharacteristically competitive, I still have one chance to surpass fAB in points and become GRAND CHAMPION...though that probably doesn't mean anything.
This last batch may be the best. I love all the entries, but since there's eight to choose from, that makes things difficult. If only there were one more entry and I could vote for two.
I suppose I'll go for #7, for playing on the often-ignored convention of Spotters being women.

I can't remember where that purple NPC lady is in the game, but I remember her doing that exact arm movement. Nice touch.

They're all Ruminoa citizens. The purple lady is in the bar, and isn't the only NPC that inexplicably punches you when you talk to them.

So it's final image vote time- and there are a lot of images this time around, so it's best to get right on it! In #1- ah, the mentality of old people. XD I was always under the impression that Johnny was in his mid-to-late 20s or 30s, though. The level of 'passion' (maybe?) Johnny and the purple townsperson have in #2 reminds me of World War II propaganda posters. The silence in #3 kind of slows down the pace, and the townsperson's line is still a bit random. Johnny's wrong-conclusion punchline in #4 is...actually somewhat clever. #5 tries make the joke into a slapstick gag, and it almost kind of works, even if the disconnect between the verboseness of the first two and last two panels is kind of weird. The thought of Johnny carrying around a water boiler on his back is pretty good. I imagine it must get quite hot for him if he carries it around while it's active. #7 seems to continue what might be the antics of 'dark Mega Man', but this time showing the NPC's reactions to what he's done. #8 is something of a uplifting if...confusing story. : o Rebel Johnny seems like something that should happen more often- it's certainly fun to see in #9. Whew! So after all that, my last vote goes to...#4. The punchline sold me on it. ;D

My vote goes to #8. Johnny would totally name his fire extinguisher.
