Not quite sure what you mean. Animations are typically GIF format(which I believe means something like ' Graphic Interchange Format'). Jasc's Paint Shop Pro comes with a lovely animation program which I use all the time. There're a bunch of free animation tools out there on the net. I'm told this program is good.Setting something as your avatar is simple. Throw the animation in your friendly photobucket, or whatever other image host you have, go under the Avatar option, paste the link where it says Avatar URL, make sure to match up the height and width, otherwise it'll stretch or shrink(the maximum is 100x100 though, so you won't be able to get it any bigger, but it might stretch to that size if it's smaller).

Who said anything about stealing? o.O I might've suggested looking for freeware, but that's about it(And boy, is there a difference). Regardless, Paint Shop Pro is fairly inexpensive software, especially compared to Photoshop. I believe Paint Shop Pro goes for less than a hundred bucks. About $80 if I'm not mistaken.
