I personally would think it should come out on the 360. I wouldn't want it on the wii, becasue it'd probably be really awkward, or on the PS3 because I personally don't plan on getting one. It'd be nice to see it on the PS2, but I doubt that'd happen.

I'm thinking that if there is a third sequel, it'll be on Nintendo DS, since everyone at Capcom has said repeatedly that they don't particularly see the need to make any more Mega Man console games, and DS games sell like liquid gold in Japan. Personally, I'd prefer it be on 360, since I'd rather see it in high-def and with a modified Dead Rising engine, since that's what they kind of built that engine for.

That would be fun having it on 360. If Capcom feels extremely cheap Mega Man Legends 3 may end up looking like this: (warning this video cotains exteme amounts of blood, gore, and violence and is not for the faint of heart) www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oMc-078rzE

For me it's PS2 and PSP. I'm not planning on getting a PS3 for a long time. The only game I'd have for it is Armored Core 4.

Realistically, if a MML3 were made this generation, it would be on the PS3 or X360.
I'd like to see it on PS2, dying console though it is.

The PS2 would work out nicely, but the DS would be cool too. The idea of Legends on next-gen Consoles just doesn't sit right with me for reasons already stated.

All I can say is, I'm not voting until someone adds the Wii to the poll (and Servbot 42 should have his hands slapped for being biased enough to omit it). Don't you see the potential of using the control stick to circle-strafe while using the wiimote to aim and shoot enemies on the screen? It worked great with Twilight Princess.

He gave a pretty good reason for that, with which most seemed to be in agreement. When the whole "Wii" thing was new, many people here thought along the same lines as you do -- (It would be the cheapest for Capcom to develop, the controls would be awesome with Legends' weapons, the graphics wouldn't have to be THAT great of an improvement(not entirely true), etc.) --, myself included. I think now that it's been around for a while, most people've kinda changed their views on that. Might have something to do with Inafune saying that he supposedly doesn't want to develop the game cheaply; perhaps that got people's hopes up for a realtraditional game. Or it could be the fact that most people own PS2s from the past generation(I think I may be the only poor soul here who doesn't), so that kind of solves the whole “But I don't have that console!” dilemma.
So, what's your second choice?
I like the idea of the 360 one, as I've said before. The controls match up pretty well. I'd switch Lock-On/Free Look with Strafing/Turning, though, because with the Strafe/Turn on the Left and Right triggers you could probably move/turn faster depending on how hard you push the button(pressure sensitivity). And the 360's not really that expensive. If you get the Core System, it's about $30 more than a Wii(I think it's $280 now, used to be $300-ish). Now, naturally, the Core System is crap.. as it happens I picked up my Premium System at Core System price, though(as far as I can tell that was the first and only such deal so far unfortunately). The graphics could be pretty good quality too, without losing its charm(though, really.. the same could've been said for the Playstation).
I know this is old(only a few months), but I wanted to point a few things out to Staulmaster here: A. It's not that we don't want Legends getting all Mainstream. That's pretty faulty logic: it's a popular system, so I'd say the series would have a Good chance on that one. What we don't want is the "several, multiple version games that are basically the same thing over and over again" idea(which is why I'd kinda like to see it stay away from Portable systems), 2. The Wii's probably equally popular now(though much less deservedly so(in my opinion)., and D. Don't base those assumptions on what your friends say. The game Viva Piñata has done pretty well, and that's all the indication you need to show that non-"Mature" games can sell well on 360, too(if we're going to base that on Viva Piñata). Your friends, my friends, anybody's friends are just a small sampling of a much larger market.

Uh...wow, that is pretty old. To tell you the truth, I didn't really expect anyone to take what I said particularly seriously. For point A, I understand what you mean, I honestly like Megaman Legends the way it is now, sort of an underground thing, you know? I don't like it when more people know about it because I find it takes away some of its uniqueness. Plus it would be really infuriating that I've been trying to introduce Megaman Legends to my friends for like, 4 years (which by the way, NONE of my friends know about Megaman Legends, they know about every other series, but not Legends) and then they'd be all like : "Hey, did you play the new Megaman Legends game that just came out? You Should, it's really cool!" It's more of an opinion anyway. Also, I've always had a grudge against Microsoft since they stole Rare from me (I know, I know, they didn't steal Rare, Nintendo sold it to them). As for point 2, Although the Wii is definately as popular, I do see the Wii as being something of a fad and might die down sometime in the future. Actually, since then I've changed my mind and don't really want it on the Wii, I personally don't see anything wrong with putting it on the PS3 aside from its abnormally large price tag. And for point D, well I can't really argue with you there, but Viva Pinata is just one example, plus the fact that it was mad by Rare might've helped it somewhat, no? If I'm not mistaken, haven't there been other well-conceived, kid-friendly games that haven't fared well in gaming history? Anyway, all in all, I see where you're coming from and I adhere to your general thesis.

Nothing pleases you. We're all trying to lift the Legends series in the public's eye enough to prompt another sequel, but you want it to remain obscure? Make up your mind! About Viva Pinata, I'm glad to see Rare have finally scored ever since being sold to Microsoft. Although I still suspect some foul play was involved for Nintendo to forfeit their golden goose to their enemy. (Britain's N64 Magazine, who were long-time favourites of Rare, were suspected of revenge when lumping Starfox Adventures with a low score.) Anyway, I'm glad to see a company remind the public that a video game doesn't need to be 'mature' to receive widespread sucess. There's little I detest more than a gamer who is more concerned with his image than gameplay. This is the reason Gamecube was shunned as a "kiddie's console" and why gems like Mario Sunshine and Pikmin went relatively unnoticed. Now it seems like the only thing that draws buyers to a game are how realistic the graphics look during the demo reels at the store. And heaven forbid should it look like something aimed for children! PS. Green, where the purple monkey did you learn to spell? Points "A, 2 and D"? (Well, my sister used to make that mistake.)

I didn't say that I didn't want another sequel, I just said that I didn't want it to become popular. And I'm well aware that you can't have one without the other, but I was just stating my opinion on that particular subject. I'm not going to actively go out and keep it obscure, if rasing Legends in the public's eye is what it takes than that's what it takes, but I still prefer the current situation as it is. I'm weird like that. Now, that I agree with. ;D The Gamecube was one of my, if not my favourite system out of the 3 of them and they had a lot of fantastic games on there, some being more colourful than others, and its suffered partly because of that. Come to think of it, Rare has been ridiculed for making very kid-friendly games. That's why they made Conker's Bad Fur Day into a mature game, and it worked. I guess Viva Pinata is proof that they can still make successful kid-friendly games.

Personally, I think would come out for the 360.
It's next-gen, but not too next gen, plus, Capcom seems to have a thing for it since Dead Rising, Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet, are all out for it (or, in some cases, came out/will come out for it first, and are better on it) on the 360.
Although I don't own one, I kinda hope it would come out for it. Capcom could make it look really nice without failing expectations or making it too over the top ala PS3. It would probably cost alot less to develop too.
And, although there are many ways it could be approached for the Wii, I think it would be a little silly. Although, a spin off game for it would be nice (like MOTB 2).
PS2 has its pros and cons too. Although software continues to come out for it, Sony is phasing it out. Most people own one, but I doubt it would gain any popularity on the platform. It's cheap to develop for, but it just wouldn't do D.A.S.H. the justice it deserves.
Of course, these are just my opinions.

I can actually see the "simplicity"/32-bit gameplay of MML(3) with 556-bit graphics (or whatever the PS3/Xbox 360 has). What do you guys think about cinema scenes? Should they have gameplay quality, or should they be CG sequences like in 3D Sonic games? Or anime-styled? The latter, I think, would be rather cool. I mean, look what they did with that in Namco X Capcom!
