I debated making a thread about this becuase it basically restating what we already know. With only the smallest of new info. Retronauts is a podcast part of the 1up network were they talk about old games. And this week their topic is Megaman. They mention a 4 part interview with Keiji Inafune in which he says that he still wants to make MML3( ). The problem with that is that it cost alot of money to make a huge title(as he wants MML3 and MM 9 to be big AAA games. So our assumption of Capcom not wanting to risk the money has been correct all this time.) But here comes the Jazz .Keiji Inafune said that the Engine that is powering Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet, and some other games was made by a guy who really wants it to be used for Megaman Legends 3 .So they both spoke and they really want to get Capcoms OK. It will be easier because the in house tech is already done. So they would need less upfront funding from Capcom. Heres a link to the retronauts It's episode 26. Even if your for some reason uninterest in the news is still cool to see a mainstream outlet talking about MML as fondly as we do. As is said I debated making this thread because theres nothing concrete yet, but who cares. It's been a while since we've had false hope.

It's true that I've seen most of this info about 1up talking about a DASH 3, but Keiji Inafune's thought of making DASH 3 a giant game is pretty good. If Inafune really wants RockMan DASH 3 to be a big project, then we won't have to worry about him making it just to get Legends/DASH fans off his back.

What a load of crap.
The only reason anybody's saying anything is that for some reason people believed something was going to happen this year. This is just to keep people quiet for another year or two. Then they can say "Well we never actually said anything was going to happen" and then a few more years later lead naive people on with another blatant lie like this one.
My cynicism is starting to annoy me now. How about that..

You know I'm just going to ignore you, Green. Anyhow these dudes seemed to know some of what they were talking about and some not. They say it's because of the fundings however, I'm pretty sure that any game ain't cheap to make.

Inafune did say in the video interview that he and one of the project leaders kind of wanted to make a MegaMan game with the Dead Rising engine, but that they don't have the financial support to do so right now. Since he mentioned trying to get money from Rockstar or EA for it, I'm pretty sure Capcom isn't too much in favor of that, despite the Servbots secretly infiltrating the site and having a cameo in nearly every game.

Money talks, anyway you look at it. This title seems more plausable with an existing engine, but I'm in aggreement with green. This is just another lie to stretch things. Don't get me wrong Inafune does want to, I share the same plight. You simply can't make games without money, especially AAA games. Capcom also has to keep their standards of publishing 100% AAA games.
Sadly thats the industry I work for.

Come on, no fighting on the boards. Whatever happens, happens, and that's the way it is. (Though I'm not banking my money on anything happening).

The host of Retronauts, Jeremy Parish, just topped everything off with a blog post all about Megaman Legends Check it out hereHe actually gives a shout out to this site because he uses a bunch of screen shots from here. Also, I don't think Keiji's comments were meant to be heard as a bait and switch. When you say that it's meant to keep us quite I know what your saying but you have to remember that this was an interview. These guys asked him about it and he has to answer honestly. It's too expensive but that doesn't mean it's completely hopeless.

I'm willing to believe that Inafune still wants to make Legends 3, I'm willing to believe plenty of other people at Capcom also want to make it, and I'm willing to believe that they can't because of funding.
What reasons do we have to think he's lying? I don't think there are enough hardcore Legends fans that he'd make up that whole story just to get them all off his back for a while.

I believed Inafune really wanted to work on it "When he had time", what was it now? Five Years ago? Yet somehow today, what we've wound up with is another EXE clone and another Zero clone, even though both of those series officially ended. Without EXE to tie 'em up, Capcom had time. Time was not the issue. They just don't care. Capcom is a business, Inafune is a business man. He'll say whatever the heck he wants, it doesn't have to mean anything, especially when it's not direct. These little hints and suggestions mean nothing. As far as a Legends 3 goes, I'll believe that he wants to make one when he - or Capcom - gives us a release date.

We're not talking about time here, we're talking about MONEY. A proper MML3 on a next-gen system would cost a LOT, and Capcom doesn't even know if it'll sell. Megaman's not as popular as he used to be, and the Legends games weren't exactly smash hits when they came out 6 or 7 years ago. Let's face it, if they did decide to release Megaman Legends 3 it COULD end up being a multi-million dollar flop. Capcom is (understandably) worried about this, so they're not doing anything right now.
But that doesn't mean that nobody at Capcom WANTS to make the game. Just because a creator WANTS to do something doesn't mean he CAN. That's sadly not how businesses work.
I still see no reason to say Inafune's lying in this interview. It seems like you're just complaining for the sake of complaining.

Guys, can we settle down before a riot breaks out? At this point, all I'm thinking if Capcom's waiting for an oppurtunity, then they'll need it sooner or later (if any). The interviews already in themselves present the interest of a MML3. If it happens, good. But if not, there are other things to worry about. It makes me a little sick to see how this fracas has escalated.

I find this naivety sickening much more so.
They wait an entire gaming generation to tell us there's not enough funding? Something about that just don't sit right with me.
But I digress. Since I really have no intention of changing my stance on this issue, and I can easily see this becoming a much more heated issue, I'm gonna step aside and let you all continue with this crap.
