Yeah, I think I understand what he's getting at. MMU seems to be operating under this philosophy too. I don't think it's necessarily a bad move. There are things about Japanese style gaming that irritate me and I think a western influence could help. Of course the same goes for the reverse. In general, I like the western type of writing and the Japanese style of graphics. If both sides of the ocean could work together more often to make something with the best of both worlds, I'd be a happy man.
On the downside, Legends is more Japanese style than anything and a move towards western influences could either mean even less chances of a new game, or more chances of it being uncomfortably different if there is. Neither is an attractive prospect.

Neither is an attractive prospect. Idk i've always thought of the mml games as a ps1 version of a western style rpg. 3rd person exploration/combat, various things to collect, side quests. Similar to games like oblivion and fallout 3 only on a smaller scale. I think if they marketed mml3 as a western style rpg to the west then it could sell. Though idk what capcom thinks of it, considering they held back sf4 for 10 years thinking it wouldn't sell.
