It's true, SIM does seem to insist on trying to dig into us whenever the opportunity presents itself (and even out of the blue sometimes). If anyone's going to take his word for it without question though, well, their loss... The rules here aren't too strict, they're just solid, and properly enforced, which makes us seem strict in comparison with most places that don't bother.

Seriously, I've never even read the rules. They're like common sense if anything. Or maybe they're not. I don't know. Only time I ever looked at 'em was for signature size limits. either way don't want people without common sense around anyway. ...I guess they're phun to laugh at though.

I personally LIKE all the rules here. It keeps the site in order, and ensures that we only retain members with a high enough level of intelligence to post...intelligent things. Asking people to use proper English, respond to posts with intelligent responses, refrain from using foul language, and whatnot should NOT be considered cruel or strict by any means! It's no different from being in school...except that you don't get homework and it's optional if you want to pursue a decent career in this day and age. All the restrictions make MMLS seem so much more professional than those other sites, ne?

I've seen a lot of people at the Mega Man Legends 2 forum at Gamefaqs who don't want to come here because the rules are too strict. Why does everyone think the rules are so bad here? It's probably SIM. He's bitter toward MMLS because he couldn't say whatever he wanted, and so he tells everyone who might join us that the rules are too strict and that MMLS isn't user friendly. I don't know who this "SIM" person is, but, I like them. Any idea where I can find this person? I think the rules here are more strict than a Nazi concentration camp, and I'm still holding a grudge towards that ***hat Paul Burns for his incredibly rude emails he wrote to me back in 2003. So, who do I come here? Well, it's the best Legends site on the Internet. But, that's only because it doesn't have any serious competition. Sorry, fab, I'm only stating my opinion and exercising my first amendment rights. If you moderate me or this post because of that, you're only proving what I say to be true.

lol now I see what you meant in that other topic.
Honestly, dude, I've been here just a little more than a year, I've posted like crazy, and looking back at some of my posts I've spammed on various occasions, especially when I was newer. I've gotten in trouble here like twice throughout the entire duration though, and not even in major trouble. What's that tell ya? The rules are fine. It's not that they're strict it's that they're actually THERE.
Also, first ammendment whatever, if you're gunna flame, you're breaking the boards rules which violates other people's rights.

Am I to gather that you didn't know that I, fab, am Paul Burns? Ouch. If you're still holding a grudge from back then, hmm... In case you've forgotten what actually transpired, let me refresh your memory. 1. You sent an affiliation request to Legends Station, claiming to meet all the requirements, and not really meeting any of them. 2. I replied and was, yes, very rude. I pointed out every reason why your site wasn't up to standards, and I said it pretty nastily. 3. You replied with a far worse, hateful e-mail full of incredibly nasty insults about me, personally, a person you didn't know anything about. 4. Despite the fact that I'd insulted a web site and you'd insulted me directly, I sent not one, but two e-mails, both increasingly apologetic, asking your forgiveness for my behavior, which was the result of hanging out with some bad company during what was at that time, by far the worse state of depression I had ever experienced. 5. Apologies accepted on both sides, everyone was happy, or so I was lead to believe until now... Sorry, fab, I'm only stating my opinion and exercising my first amendment rights. If you moderate me or this post because of that, you're only proving what I say to be true. For future reference, this sort of thing really ticks the staff off. It makes unwarrented assumptions about how we do our jobs, and it's like you're challenging us. If we mod you, OMG we prove you right! If we don't mod you, OMG we're afraid to because of what people will think of us! *rolls eyes*

...Oh dear. I certainly hope a fight doesn't break out. I know it was something like this that got SIMS banned...Cleveland Rock, you should really respect the admin better than that...don't go around making any trouble, all right?

...Wow, Cleveland Rock, I can sum up your attitude about life just from that post. But, lucky for you, I'm not going to be rude and express my opinion infront of everybody.
Anyways, I don't see what's so hard about following rules. Can people not read? Can they not comprehend and furthurmore, are they unable to act like civilized people? I think that's what fab and the mods had in mind when they came up with the rules. They wanted a civilized forum, not something like Gaia Online *Kills Gaia.* Look here, I have the rules here all in a nutshell for all the dummies out there.
1) Act like you know english and type decently. 2) Try to act like you have some intelligence. 3) Don't make double-posts (or sixtuplit-posts like me).
See? Of course, they go into lots more detail, but if you have any lick of common sense, you'll know more than half of the rules already. And it's not like they're extremely hard to learn.
