I would like to apologize to all board members who had to witness a massive flood of false, inflammatory new member registrations last night and early this morning. I noticed at the time that there were some board members logged on, so I apologize it took us so long to clean up the boards.
Despite there being a number of people who could have been responsible for this incident, all the new accounts were linked to the same IP address, making it surprisingly easy to narrow it down to one specific person.
So I would like to kindly ask that person to please refrain from such childish behavior in the future.
It would be very unfortunate if the information linking said person to this incident were to make it beyond this forum's boundaries. Say, for example, to a place where this person has powers and responsibilities, ones that may be greatly affected by a connection to such vulgar, spiteful behavior.
I hope this individual will think before putting their status on the line again. I personally will not be so willing to forgive and forget should such a thing happen again.

......... This is a serious problem, not something to be taken lightly. This was done by someone who thought he was funny, but frankly, wasn't. The person who did this really is a sick freak who thinks he's the most hilarious thing in the world and should be stopped at all costs. But the best thing most of you guys can do is just ignore it frankly.
P.S.: It wasn't he who shall not be named.

Wonder who it was. Oh, well. I wonder what was to laugh at for them. Oh well, could have been worse.

Here's a question...has this person's ISP been notified of the actions they did? I mean, it would be really easy if you have their IP, and having seen the remarks that person made, I think it would be a course of action that should seriously be contemplated, if it isn't too difficult.

No, no, we're not going to play guessing games about who it was. And no Pitch, it wasn't Voldemort. And may I note that just because a topic isn't locked doesn't mean you're free to make completely irrelevant, chit-chatty comments in it. EDIT: Eric's post wasn't there when I was writing that. Anyway, I would have to talk to fab about an action like that, as it seems a tad drastic for some immature board flooding. The next time it happens though, if there is a next time, I think that very well may happen. Right now all we're asking is that the spammer never do it again so we don't have to blackmail him. I think that would be the most beneficial and least-problematic solution for both of us.

And I hope you didn't think I actually meant Voldemort, though props on getting the reference. ...Did what I said count as chit-chatty? I was questioning whether I should've posted at all, since it was an anouncement...

I was joking. But it's not who you suspect.
And as for chit-chat, it was a general warning to everyone.

Maybe there should be a rule for people who pull crap like that off or worse to be kicked out immediatly. Then we could make a board of shame for those people.

That's the thing, Cloud. The attacker WAS a previously banned member, and is pulling this off just to get attention and attack fab (and the rest of MMLS). They have already been kicked out.
As for a board of shame...that's a bit too far. I don't think that insulting banned members would be in good taste.

A simple IP ban isn't enough huh, well this seems pretty stupid of banned members. I see people really have a lot of spare time on their hands.

I would estimate 25 or so. The last batch of about a dozen also had their birthdays set to the current day, making them all appear on the home page at once. Very irritating and very immature.
And this person must have a dynamic IP because it didn't match their IP on previous posts. However, a fake e-mail address was used for each one, meaning they couldn't actually log in, just spam the homepage.

Ya know, God just had to allow retards in this world, huh. Bastard...
As for coming up with a solution to prevent the problem, I really don't have a clue. Afterall, I'm not too great with computer stoof, but if there is anything I can do, please...let me know and I will try to help out as much as I can.
