I haven't even heard of a lot of these. btw, wasn't trying to be snippy earlier, just thought it all belonged here where people would more than likely look. Nice.  |

Oh man, you gave me more thorough an answer than I ever imagined I’d get. Fantastic stuff right here. Thank you muchly.
If we can get a few more people who are versed in this area to give some peer reviews or something, maybe we can have them all compiled and stickied as a permanent resource. I really think people could benefit from something like this.
Anyway, like Bret, I hadn’t even heard of about half of those programs... I’ll have to give them a look some time. One thing I would like to bring up though: I’ve seen a lot of slowdown issues in larger games made with Game Maker (more so than I’ve ever noticed with the RPG Maker programs). It’s happened to me enough that I figured it would be a notable issue, though I see you’ve made no mention of any such problem. Would you say game lag is ever much of an concern in Game Maker, or am I just imagining things here?
