Your Devroom entry looks pretty cool! (hehe ) I must have missed a few of your posts. I like your work comics, and your stomach looks like some kind of monster, do you have a parasite or something? I gotta say I've never cut my self shaving, were you in a hurry?

Your Devroom entry looks pretty cool! (hehe ) I must have missed a few of your posts. I like your work comics, and your stomach looks like some kind of monster, do you have a parasite or something? I gotta say I've never cut my self shaving, were you in a hurry? 1. When you've worked hard and had nothing to eat for 8 hours, your stomach can sound like a monster in itself. No parasites required. 2. Not really, it just sorta happened. This was like a bad day in my life. The shaving and roaring stomach were parts of what happened in it. There's more to the story where it came from... i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/parkingandtestpic.jpgRight after work, I had to rush to school, but finding parking was no picnic- I drove around the lot for ten minutes before I found a space. During class, I was confronted with a surprise test- I was unprepared, so it felt like I was being led to the firing squad.. Though as bad as that was, it paled compared to what happened next: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/Askanddashpic.jpgIn my second class of the day, I needed to ask my teacher for a little advice regarding an essay I was working on. My teacher was a bit erratic- one moment it sounded like he was rambling, the next, he whispered in a low voice- that class was more like a 'pick the facts out of the nonsense' affair. When I asked my teacher about the essay, he did something I never saw in all my years as student: he buggered off! Needless to say, I was furious....: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/furiouspic.jpgI kept my frustrations in check the moment my teacher made his getaway, but I found an outlet for it in this piece- pure, unmitigated wrath...... Fortunately for me, not only was I able to finish the essay in spite of this incident, I was able to use this and the other 'bad day' images to finish up my spanish presentation. It was well received by my spanish teacher and the rest of my class. The only problem I had with it was the inconsistency of the pages, given that I had to do touch-and-go throughout the quarter. Still, all's well that ends well.

Great pictures. I quite like the furious pic as it really showed the passion and fury you had at that moment.

Ha the ask and dash and furious ones are my favorite! During my 11th year in school I would always ask my history teacher questions in class but she always ingored me and it became something of an in-joke with my friends. It was her first year teaching but I think it's crazy she wouldn't even try to explain something to me. Once I even had my hand up during class when she asked if anyone had questions and she called on me, only for me to ask my semi-long question and her just go sit at her desk and grade papers! :11: I still don't understand that woman.
Also I really like how you used that day for class projects. Making the best out of a bad situation. And that was a pretty crappy day ;D

What a funny thing life is. That project was proof that sometimes, something good can come from something bad. That project aside, I've been doing odds and ends since that time, some I wasn't confident with, but others came of their own accord. This one goes along the lines I did of the Wacky Races lines I put up last time. A while after seeing that series, I tracked down the spin-off series, Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines. I found myself a source of joy when times were rough. I never thought watching someone chasing a messenger pigeon and failing epically would bring so much laughter. Tonight's entries were to stabs I took from that series, both of them concerning Dick Dastardy: The first one is of Dastardly being the victim of a plan mean to put Yankee Doodle pigeon in a can.. : i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/CannedDastardlycolored.jpg :11:"MUTTLEY!!!!! DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!" :11: The second one being Dastardly in one of the few times he isn't getting massacred or haggling Muttley into saving him (Muttley usually won't rescue him unless there's a medal in it for him): i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/DickDastardly.jpgI did these as a continued effort to work with blue-line drafts- I'm starting to get a better handle on the method: Lately, I've been able to crank out more works with a bit more efficiency than I used to, and I've been getting a little inspiration of sorts since I started a DA account. I'll put up some of those results up in later posts.

Tonight's addition is one I've done about two weeks ago. I had broken a drawing block and was looking to keep things moving. Here, I drew my character, Scythe Mana, and updated his clothes a bit. At first, I was going to leave it at that, but then I ended up putting myself n, and a few details of Scythe's headband and gauntlets (it's been far too long since I've drawn those, I'll need to work on them). Since those few weeks, I've found that interaction of certain people and things can really do wonders, if applied the right way. Also, doing an update was a good change of pace- I should think of doing this with Edgar and Juno, someday. For now, I'm happy to start drawing in earnest, again. Attachments:

Great work. I like how you had drawn your character Scythe and Raven. The colours of their clothes are a good choice. I also like the fact that they have different facial structure and heights too.

*Note: Photobucket seems to be acting up, at the moment, so I don't know if these links will work for a time. If there are problems with them, please let me know* Today's entries brings up two stories: One different, and one with of unusual origin: The first came about a few weeks ago. A friend of mine on Capcom Unity wanted me to a sketch if Chaud Blaze from the MMBN games. i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/testsketch-Chaud-colored.jpgAt first, I wasn't sure how to approach this, since I wasn't used to drawing characters of his nature. But after musing over his lone-wolf personaly, coupled with a minor elitist streak, I hammered out the sketchlines into these final results. It does look a bit odd, like this, but then, his hair covers the left side of his face on this one. Oddities aside, I was pleased with how Chaud turned out. Looking at that smirk makes me think he's spoiling for a fight... This second one has a bit of unusual roots. For the past few months, I've been back on a diet, getting back to exercise every now and again. For that, I usually do 30 minutes treadmill running and 9 rounds hitting the freestanding bag. It's tiring but it felt good, afterwards. The other half of it came on my DA account. When I commented on a picture, I had an unusual conversation with a friend of mine, and it ended up with me in a RP boxing match.. During that time, I felt the need to do aw of me in the appropriate attire: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/boxerravendoodles-colored.jpgThis is actually the second one I've done as a result of said events, but this one, I was more pleased with. The first two on the left was a few basic doodles with one set of colors, the two on the right, I did as bits from the RP fight in question (the color set for those were the ones I originally chose from my first doodle, which I might put up a bit later)- on the bottom right, I ended up getting knocked down in the first round. As for the top right , I got afflicted with a black eye :03:, but I returned the favor in the second round, and decided to add insult to injury... that almost proved a fatal mistake.. When the dust settled, I found myself doing what has now become a series of doodles, thereafter- if you folks want to see them, I'll put those up in good time. .

Go ahead and post those doodles when you can. I'm not familiar with MMBN but that guy looks wll drawn. Also his hair looks like an eggshell. So you're a boxer? That's pretty cool. I don't think I could play a sport where I get punched in the face though. :03:

I don't think I could play a sport where I get punched in the face though. :03: 1. Folks tease Chaud a lot about his 'eggshell' hair style. ;D 2. I've done a little boxing in my life- I'd have to put that one on my brother-in-law. Years ago, he used to coax me into sparring with him. These days, I do 9 rounds on the FS bag for exercise and picked up a few things, but there's no way I'd cut it as a boxer in real life, but that's one of the things I like about doing doodles like this- you have free reign over it. The RP (role play ) match I ended up in woke up a few creative juices so this doodle ended up growing into a series I'm doing to this very day. This one (#3) , continues that, but I did a few things with it: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/BRdoodles3-colored.jpg 1. throwing a left jab 2. reaction to being hit from an uppercut (these are not only effective, but also pretty painful) 3. wearing headgear 4. gearing up for a few rounds. The only nitpick I have with these is a minor sense of inconsistency, but since I enjoyed drawing these, I paid it little to no mind. I found that at that point, if I worry too much about things like that, I wasn't going to draw anything worthwhile. It felt good to break that habit.

That's a great pic of Chaud that you had done. It looks great, even though you're not used to drawing that type of character.

I like the drawing of Chaud!
I've never Chaud smile very much though. In the NT warrior series he is always hostile towards Lan.
Chaud needs to stop being so serious.

I like the drawing of Chaud! I've never Chaud smile very much though. In the NT warrior series he is always hostile towards Lan. Chaud needs to stop being so serious. "Why so serious, Chaud? .... Why so serious?" Far as I know, Chaud tends to put up a front, he keeps up a lone-wolf sort of personality, but the way I hear it, he just wants to be loved. I think in that sense, he's a bit jealous of Lan (my own thoughts), but would never admit to it. The only person I know of who has seen Chaud acting a bit more 'normal' would be Mayl.... or that's what I hear, anyway.... I've two works for toinght, so let's get to business. The first one I did was as a result of musing over the poem by Edgar Allan Poe- i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/QuothetheRaven-colored.jpg'Quoth the raven "Nevermore!"'More or less, I just felt like doing a minor update of myself artwork outside the BR doodles I've been doing of late. It was pretty fun to work with, overall. The second one (the attachment), I made today in honor of the 1 year founding of the 100K Strong fb group. While MML3 has yet to be made, I did this in the sense that despite what the naysayers said, the group had accomplished its first goal of gathering 100,000 folks together when so many folks said they would never find so many. I made this scene a bit of a small party. On the left, I'm holding a flag with a sort-of emblem I made , bearing the words ' C FORTIS'- which is latin for '100,000 Strong.' I thought it was rather fitting... That aside, Data and the servbots are helping themselves to the food and drink, served up by my OC, Scythe Mana, and Volnutt's got a refractor in one arm, and giving his 'thumb's up' with the other. I plan to color this one when I get a chance, tomorrow. It's not my best work, but I thought the idea would be a good one for the occasion for which I made it. Attachments:

Huh...Looks like Tron wasn't invited(attachment). I can think of three possible results from this event. 1)Tron will go cry in her room for not getting invited. 2)Those two servbots are going get one HECK of a torturing, and Tron will come up with some half-baked assault on the gathering(which will end in failure). 3)A combination of 1 and 2, in that order. I like the drawing so far. I want to see the final product!

It's been a long time since I've uploaded anything... most of that attributed to my senior seminar classes and mind slipping. Wanting to break that norm, I thought to do something MML-related. This one, I did about two days ago- I did a quick reaverbot based off a spider: Usually, drawing spiders can be a pain if you're unprepared. Fortunately, I found a good model on my easel. Outside of drawings, one of my favorite hobbies is building things with my legos- one model I really liked was Shelob, the giant spider from Tolkein's The Lord of the Rings books. That model became great reference material. I kept the design basic, but for a sense of urgency, I covered the legs in thick armor and tipped the legs and mandibles with nasty-looking blades. I also went with a singular eye for this creature... Looking back on it, I can see my OC, Lachesis, drawing upon a bit of ancient(at least by their standards) lore- including old stories- I can imagine a good couple of diggers quailing at the sight of a giant mechanical spider descending upon them.. spider reaverbot.bmp (449.76 KB)
